Wrong, Microsoft Flight simulates the whole world. You can even convert the FSX world to Microsoft Flight. Wrong, there were airplanes with navigation instruments. Wrong, the weather implementation was way better than the weather implementation in FSX...

Status of Flight\Flight Toolkit
majuh replied to stonelance's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
In my experience, migrating a SQL database is really easy, so maybe it will be less of a problem than you think. -
In what engine is Flight made?
majuh replied to Strahinja's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
The engine belongs to Dovetail Games now. -
You could try increasing the LodRadius:

I believe the progress was stored on the Microsoft Flight servers with GfWL, so the Flight Toolkit implemented its own savegames in NonGfWL mode.

Is Flight! and content still available?
majuh replied to eelis's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
You only need to append /a to the usual command: <Path to Flight Toolkit>\ContentConverter.exe fsx /i:<path to FSX folder> /o:<Path to temporary folder to convert the assets> /a -
Cen't get past Games for WIndows Live login
majuh replied to MattNeffer's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
The GfWL servers are still up as far as I know. Even multiplayer should still be working. Uptime might be less than 100% though because newer games obviously don't use GfWL anymore, so I doubt they spend a lot of time on maintaining the servers. Regarding the Flight Toolkit problem, you could also try this installer: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 -

Which dll is missing? You are probably missing certain Visual C++ redistributables. -

You could install the Flight Toolkit which removes GfWL from the game. Your ingame profile is probably gone, though, because the Flight servers had been shut down long ago. -
Here are the links: The base game gives you access to Big Island. If you want to fly in the rest of Hawaii and Alaska, you should install the Flight Toolkit where you can download these addons. There are also community mods available as addons.

Flight crashes in cockpit view.
majuh replied to flightwise's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
The game still connects to Microsoft's own multiplayer servers. By the way, I also just played the game again with the Fall Creators Update being installed on my PC, and everything still works fine here including cockpit views. -
Flight crashes in cockpit view.
majuh replied to flightwise's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
There are log files in %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Flight. Maybe the game reports the error in ContentErrors.log. You need GfWL mode for multiplayer. -
Yes, you can operate the GPS buttons with your mouse in those planes that have a cockpit. I don't think there are keybinds for them.

You can't buy it anymore since the store has gone down, but you can download it for free with the Flight Toolkit: http://flighttoolkit.com/

GFWL Error after selecting with Toolkit
majuh replied to jandjfrench's topic in The Microsoft Flight (2012) Forum
This error seems to occur when the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributables are missing. So your best bet is to try and install that.
