  1. I had a new system built last January, it had Win8.1 installed and I installed FSX:SE. It never had FSX installed. Everything worked fine with FSX:SE till I upgraded to Win 10. Now FSX:SE crashes or freezes after a few minutes under dx9. I switched over to dx10 mode (along with fixer) and it runs fine. I did a DxDiag on my system and it shows that I have dx 9.1 - 12.1 and that is after running the Dx redist in the FSX:SE folder. I'm also running a Nvidia card. My question would be if there if there anything to this Dx 9.0c thing. I would think 9.1 is good enough. I haven't come across any fixes for this issue. I'm happy to run in Dx 10 mode except for some of the incompatability issues. Like lossing the FLIR, NVG with VRS's Superbug F-18. And some lighting issues.
  2. Running FSX:SE. In dx9 mode the sim starts up fine but then after a few minutes the screen will freeze with the sim still running in the background (I can hear throttle changes). Selecting from the menus tends to give me a black screen and the whole sim crashes. Running in dx10 preview seems to work fine for the most part. i5-4690k, Geforce GTX 970. John Knapp
  3. Had this problem too! Found the answear last week after googling in the error code. But now FSX:SE crashes after a few minutes under dx9. Runs fine under dx10 preview mode.
  4. Don't know how many people have had problems with the upgrade to win10 but I am one of them. First I couldn't complete the upgrade without first deleting a file out of an ORBX directory. Then FSX:SE would freeze/crash within the first 5 minutes of a flight. The only suggested fix that has worked so far is switching to dx10 preview mode. Just completed a short flight in the 737ngx and all went well (haven't tried the weather radar though). My best guess is that I have an dx9 issue. Or it could be FSX:SE related as I've seen more people with problems with win10 over on their forums. John Knapp
  5. Those of you who migrated from FSX to P3D, did you get a discount from LM when you bought P3D? John Knapp
