  1. Thanks for the kind words or support...I have a to-do list an arm long and I'm working through it to enhance EZCamViews...and the big feature coming is the mouse move feature where you will have the option to use the mouse to move the camera around the cockpit...EZCamViews will go well beyond what FSX can do with the mouse move feature...all custom design and custom code...no other camera app currently does what EZCamViews will do when I release this feature!! Please stay tuned!!
  2. There isn't a trial period...it's completely free to use...and it's fully functional as a free app...donations just help me to continue to work on it...honestly, it's a lot of work to do this and deploy it into the flight sim community and support it...thank you...keep an eye on my website because that's where I will post any updates re SE and P3D support.
  3. Yes, that was it...I had to wait about 30 secs...thanks...is there a link to David's manual?
  4. Sorry for the trouble you're having but EZCamViews, at this time, only works on FSX...not FSX SE and not on P3D...at this time...I plan to support those platforms in the future but I don't have a time frame yet...I'm still working on the FSX version and it is not finished yet...flight simmers are asking for enhancements and I'm adding a bunch as I continue to use the product myself. It all takes time. There are 50+ flight simmers using EZCamViews now and more down loading everyday. Only one person has donated so far, and he gave me $1.80.
  5. I saw your answer on the other support site....I set the parking brake but it didn't help...Yikes!!!
  6. 1. The transition logic is implemented entirely by EZCamViews itself because FSX doesn't open up that capability with their SDK. So the coding logic is different but gives a similar result. All camera apps have to implement this their own way so they will not all be 100% the same. There is a lot of code to make that happen but it happens quickly. I chose to 'back up' or reverse the axis movement until reaching either 0 or bumping into the new view axis at which point I stop further movement along that axis. Then start moving towards the new view along each axis. It only moves in a straight line if both axis are the same but there are 5 other axis that have to be handled. Its complex code but works in a logical manner as far as moving around all six axis. If you can give a very detailed example of how you think it should work, I can take a look at the code and see if I can tweak it any. 2. I have not seen the shifting problem per se but I know if I manually change my zoom that may cause problems with the camera views you have created and set. This will happen to any and all camera apps because we can't fetch zoom information from the SDK (FSX). If there is something FSX is doing to the camera view, when it should not, then some camera apps would most likely see the result and that may be what you are talking about. EZCamViews uses its own camera file and does not touch or other wise bother the FSX camera file, so if FSX were to do something to the camera definitions EZCam wouldn't be bothered by it. 3. I wouldn't mind at all adding DHM but I have not looked into it yet. My suspicion is that there is no SDK to support it, so I would have to design it myself. So, its on my radar to answer your question. www.EZCamViews.net and on the left side you'll see the down load menu link to take you to that page for the actual down load.
  7. I have 4 additional enhancements that I am going to be adding as soon as possible: Make the mini cam positioner window resizable so that when you're using this window on a second monitor, you can resize it (drag it) vertically to show all of your camera views (so the automatic vertical scroll bars don't have to appear). Add drag and drop capability to the Cockpit Camera Matrix (CCM) window. This will allow you to re-arrange the square button camera views in real time as you use this window. Cockpit Camera Matrix (CCM) window: I'm going to add code that will look for a space between two words and then display these two words on the square buttons in two rows vs just 'word wrapping' the text breaking in the middle of a word. This will improve the appearance of two worded text labels. I'm still not happy with the 3 Cockpit Camera Matrix (CCM) sizes that are available. In using EZCamViews with my new Phenom 100 VLJ, even the 3x3 size takes up too much real estate. So, I'm going to add the option (for each of the three sizes) to display all the square buttons in one row horizontally. So, for the 3x3 for example, if you enabled the 'one row' option, you'll have 9 square buttons side by side, horizontally. You will be able to move this window anywhere on the screen, but most likely you will want it at the top, out of the way. The 4x4 option would give you 16 buttons across. I'll have to play around with the 5x5 and see if 25 buttons will fit across the screen horizontally. I'm not sure about that one yet. I'll have to see if it fits. So, a lot of enhancements coming to EZCamViews!
  8. I just purchased and installed the feelThere Phenom 100 for FSX. All I can do is turn on the two battery switches. No GPU action at all. I click on it and nothing. Is there something else I have to do to get GPU power? Thanks...
  9. Are you having those kinds of problems with EZCamViews? Yes, you have to start up EZCamViews every time you fly. Start up FSX first, then start up EZCam, minimize all of its windows and go fly!! When you say save a camera do you mean save a .cam file (from tab 1) or do mean you saving a camera view (from tab 2)? Thank you very much...!!! 1. Yes, I plan to do outside cameras!! 2. You do have to manually select your aircraft...however, the last aircraft file (tab 1) you selected will select automatically upon the next start up of EZCam. So, if you choose to fly with a different aircraft from the last time, then you will have to change your EZCam selection in tab 1. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it automatic but have not hit upon a solution yet. 3. EZCam has to be installed on the same machine you have FSX installed on. Sorry. The better solution would be for you to plug a monitor cable into your laptop and use it as a second monitor (vs using it as a second, separate PC on your network). That way, you can drag your EZCam windows to the monitor not showing your cockpit and operate EZCam from there. Yes, Robin and I had a lot of emails going back and forth yesterday on this. Glad he was finally able to install EZCamViews.
  10. Update: @Gregg -- I have decided to further enhance the capability of being able to move the mouse around to change the cockpit camera position. The design and coding to replicate how FSX works is complete...but I now want to take it even further and actually provide all 6 axis of movement with the mouse. So this will take a little more time but I think it will be worth it in the end. So the 0.9.5 release will not come out as soon as I thought it would. Stay tuned.
  11. @Gregg -- I'm just finishing up some testing that provides you with the ability to move the mouse around and change the camera view. One of my technical consultants, Paul, did the design work on this as it was a complete custom coding task. While FSX can also do it, they didn't make it part of their SDK for us camera developers to use. So, we had to code in that functionality from the ground up ourselves. But its done and it works great! I will be releasing it in a couple of days as ver 0.9.5 (0.94 is the current ver and everyone needs to be on that one for the time being).
  12. What is it exactly you're trying to accomplish? Your title doesn't make any sense to me at all. You want to practice VNAV landings -- you mean hand flying the approach and landing? Or flying a coupled VNAV approach? What kind of approach do you want to transition to? ILS? Non-precision? Maybe we're getting all mixed up with the terminology...do you mean RNAV approach?
  13. @Driver170 I'm not sure where you going with this or why you want to dig up V speeds in the FCOM or calculate your own V speeds from the performance manual. Just look at the V speeds in the FMS after you've loaded your flight plan into it and use those values. Done. Finished. I can tell you in the real world the pilots do not do what you are trying to do...so I don't know why you are expending valuable time and energy that you could be using to go fly!!! Just read the V speeds from the CDU and go!!!
  14. You eye ball it the best you can...

  16. Hi Rick, I don't have P3D so I could not test it out on that platform. In one of my EZCamViews tutorial videos I talk a bit about this. I don't think it will run under P3D because I am using a different SDK .DLL file. I don't know (yet) if P3D can load in another SDK .DLL file. So to answer your question Rick I don't know for sure if my app will run as it is now, under P3D, but I suspect it won't. It's my hopes that in the future I will be able to release EZCamViews for the P3D platform. I can tell you for sure they have added to the camera SDK a lot more than MS ever did when they had the source code. Developing a camera app for P3D is a lot easier than it is for FSX.
  17. Today I am releasing my FREE FSX cockpit camera application. Now you can easily create 3D camera views. You can check it out at www.EZCamViews.net I made some video tutorials on my 737NGX YouTube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/rfresh1011 Look on the left side for the playlist 'EZCamViews'. Thanks and enjoy everyone!
  18. I made a few 737NGX training videos. Most of them how to fly the ILS. However, I did make some training videos on the MCP: 23 videos in total just on the MCP itself. And since Kyle's name was mentioned in this thread I will say he was one of my technical advisers on these training videos. Here is my 737NGX YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/rfresh1011 As a side note: today I am releasing my FREE FSX cockpit camera view application: Easily create 3D camera views. You can check it out at www.EZCamViews.net
  19. I'm wondering if someone could help me with actually implementing this 1.0 zoom level? I'm doing this in C# and here is my code...I'm just trying to do a button click to set the zoom level but my code isn't working. I'm not sure where the problem is. Thanks for any help. enum EVENTS : uint { ZOOM_1X, }; simconnect.MapClientEventToSimEvent(EVENTS.ZOOM_1X, "ZOOM_1X"); simconnect.TransmitClientEvent((uint)SimConnect.SIMCONNECT_OBJECT_ID_USER, EVENTS.ZOOM_1X, (uint)0, INPUT_GROUPS.INPUT0, SIMCONNECT_EVENT_FLAG.GROUPID_IS_PRIORITY);
  20. So, this is what I've learned so far in case others are interested in this topic: 1. Microsoft didn't provide a way to read or get the current zoom level in SimConnect. Period. 2. There is only one call constant (ZOOM1_X) to set the zoom level. I'm programming in C# but I'll bet the C++ header file for this constant == 64. This constant sets the zoom level to 1.0. 3. While there is only one documented constant (ZOOM1_X)...you can send any integer value and get incremental zoom levels. For example, send 32 to get .5 zoom level. So, I guess I've now answered my own question.
  21. I've look in the SDK but can't find a call to read the current VC zoom level setting...is there a way to read it? I also would like to set a VC zoom value and am wondering if this possible as well? Thanks...
  22. I'm new to simconnect programming. I would like to press a joystick button and have my app detect that event so it can then act accordingly. How do I set up my code to detect when I've pressed one of my joystick buttons? Thanks for any help...
  23. The Dash8 Q400 fuel planning feature is now finished in my SimChecklist app. Here is a video tutorial on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhwo8iWdyE8&index=16&list=PL1ApZWLk0_MrsxzfMrGBpaUwewrjO6uUk
