  1. Looking good mibmab! Meanwhile ... still trying to get the Scenery working here... -_- Not seeing the tower bridge!
  2. That could be very useful! I think you may have solved why users have been getting different results with the conversion...
  3. If you could that would be great! I really have no idea why I'm not seeing some models. Thanks!
  4. @mibmab and majuh: Try a flight around SF do you still get the same error? Regarding my crash in the SF Area: ...I reinstalled FSX and Acceleration for the third time now - converted everything but there is still no model and there is NO REFERENCE that the model failed to load in the ContentErrors.log; just a lot of missing assets: However, one bridge did manage to convert:
  5. Great to see you up and running again Ken! I did try a clean install of Acceleration but to no avail...I was still seeing no bridge! I will try one more time and that is it - I've done this install a couple times already! We'll see....
  6. No Problem and I hope it works out for you! All the best! The reason why we have different textures missing is due to differences in Lat and Long - possibly. In the meantime, I think this isn't working due to our versions of FSX. Looking at the log, Flight is looking for 6 .DDS files which are incorrectly named. I don't know what the missing assets are. Also, in the ObjectBrowser, SanFra_GOLDEN refuses to preview. The only solution I could think of is if someone could lend us their working version of the addon. It'll enable me to look at exactly what is not being converted correctly. Any help is appreciated!
  7. Hey Ken have you got space for one more because I'm in the same boat as you! Fresh install of FSX: Acceleration and I get this: (37.809573, -122.496002): Mask "902B2M31.DDS" is not 8 tiles high. 8. FRAPS is one that is very common and easy to use.
  9. If you know how to use BBCode, just use the "[code" function and paste your log in there. When replying click on the top left icon in the editor to use "BBCode Mode" Eg: In the BBCode editor type: [code] <paste the contents of the log here> [/code]
  10. Converting FSX:SE Scenery so that it is compatible with Microsoft Flight.
  11. @jarsky - Nice Screenshots! You're not too bad yourself at capturing the detail! Great work! A sound idea! Maybe we should wait for Rick... it all goes under this thread so we could have a mix of screenshots and support. @BaronKen:I'm having the same problem as you, but I'm finding nothing regarding missing Bridges or models though: (37.809969, -122.507647): Mask "902B2M11.DDS" is not 8 tiles high. However, I could still fly around the area with no problems. As far as I'm concerned, no bridges were converted and were simply skipped, that's why there are no model errors.I think if Steve gets the Extrusion Bridges supported in the conversion, you should be fine. If extrusion Bridges weren't supported in the first place, I don't see why Flight would be looking for an unconverted file.
  12. I don't think it'll detect changes. If you haven't removed the directory which everything got processed into (i.e. the folder with the "temp" and "FSX World" subdirectories), and you convert to the same folder, the program will detect that the converted file already exists and will skip it. Otherwise, you will have to convert to a different path, but this will mean that you have to convert everything once again. If you do decide to convert scenery for a particular area, it will work. However, you need to identify and give a "delimited list" referencing model bgl paths and textures which may take some time. Your safest bet would be to convert everything again, unless Steve has something to else add... No one else seems to be experiencing a crash in this area so it must be due to your machine. It is a dense area with a lot of models so Flight could be lagging a lot. Check your graphics card and drivers to make sure that you aren't putting a lot of "stress" on you CPU by going to "graphically intense" areas
  13. If you aren't intending to convert the scenery or just wondering how good the conversion is, here are some Screens to help make your mind up: Over the Themes - London Sydney Auckland Bay of Naples Miami and Guantanamo Bay
  14. Well, it seems that the DLC has been written properly so there should be no need to access the DLC and interfere with the FileLocator system. The problem seems to be coming from the "FSX World" Addon - obviously. Try the following: Switch to "NonGfWL" mode in the Addon Manager. Install and enable "WorldRegionUI" Enable "FSX World" Launch Flight Report back what you find.
  15. That appears to be a standard crash. If you wish to uninstall the Addon "FSX World" be warned that you have to go through the conversion process again to create a .flightAddon file. The "FSX World" Addon can be found in your XLive DLC folder, but I wouldn't delve into it. I would just disable it in Addon Manager and try launching Flight again. Know that it takes time for MS Flight to configure - adding 7GB of data will certainly cause some problems. Tell us how that works out.
  16. No problem! The truth is, someone may also have been experiencing the same problem as you, it could be useful for them as well. We really have to thank you for asking the questions!!
  17. Phew! I'm glad I could help! It appears to be working...so you just have to leave it a while and let it do its thing! Regarding your question, the Addon does need to be installed. It enables you to access the whole world on the map screen instead of being tied down to Alaska and Hawaii. Thanks and I hope it will all go smoothly! B)
  18. @Jarsky It seems I misunderstood - that screen has been on for 80 minutes? That definitely should not happen! You should see some activity. The converter logs every step! Looking at the CMD panel, it seems that you have entered the command wrong. The Converter is trying to retrieve data from "C:\Microsoft" What you need to do: Exit the Conversion that you are processing Copy and Paste this into CMD and execute. Important - Do NOT remove the Double quotes: C:\Program Files (x86)\Flight Tools\Flight Toolkit\ContentConverter.exe fsx /i:"C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X" /o:"C:\TEST" To paste a line of code into CMD, do not use Ctrl + V. Instead, right click and paste. You should now see a log being produced on the Console Window. It will show that some files are being converted. Sorry about that! I should have noticed where the converter was looking! -_- The quotes are required! It tells the .exe to look at a specific directory. If there are spaces in a folder name, it won't work - you need quotation marks!
  19. Well, it looks like you're all set for converting the scenery! Good Job! It was also a good idea to re-install FSX! No. I have Acceleration too and I haven't encountered any problems. FSX Acceleration doesn't dramatically adjust anything in your scenery folder - it just adds some better textures and enhances some of the .bgl files. So, you should be fine. That's a diffult question to answer because everyone has a different computer. If you find that your computer is usually slow, theoretically the conversion process will take longer. Bear in mind that there is 7GB of data to convert and process. For me it took about 1 hour and most of the time was eaten up by creating the addon. Just wait and if you find that it is taking too long or you are running out of time, exit the conversion and it should pick up again when you launch the converter next time. Do not worry about the empty folder. It is being used for "temporary files" which are being processed! You will get some errors in the conversion, however these are for some conversion features which are not currently supported.
  20. Thanks for all of your dedication and hard work Steve! I am currently converting and there seems to be no major errors. Hopefully I can test it out soon! This is a massive step forward! 2015 is looking good for MS Flight!
  21. Hey jarsky! Glad to see you again! First of all, you don't need to install the toolkit sequentially, you can always just install the latest version. v.1.1.0 did not work for me either so I just waited until the latest version was released. The fact that you couldn't install v1.0.18.5 or v1.0.23.0 indicates that there may be a problem with your machine. The error message appears to say that it cannot locate the SimProp, which is a .dll used within the toolkit. What you have entered in CMD seems to be fine but just to make sure, copy and execute the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Flight Tools\Flight Toolkit\ContentConverter.exe" fsx /i:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X" /o:"C:\TEST" N.B. I changed the output directory to the root of your "C" Drive. I wouldn't recommend cluttering your Flight install folder. Do not worry about the hyphens around the directories - it just tells CMD to go to that specific location. If this still does not work I can only recommend re installing the toolkit. Make sure you do a clean reinstall so: Uninstall through Control Panel Go to C:\Program Files (x86) and delete the Flight Tools folder If you can, make sure to delete any traces of the Flight Toolkit in the "AppData" directory. You can access this by going to C:\Users\ <Admin>\AppData Here you will find three folders. Look in each one and delete anything to do with the Toolkit. Some folder names are Flight_Tools, Flight Tools and spb2xml Reinstall the toolkit. Make sure you also install all previously required C++ redistributables. As always, if this does not work, we will need Steve's input! Good Luck and report back!
  22. Thanks again Steve, but getting the same error! Also, why am I not being allowed to switch modes? When I access the converter through CMD, the Configurator comes up...is that meant to happen?
  23. Well Done Steve and thanks for your commitment. I'm getting the same error too!!
  24. You are right Rick.... Here are some instructions if you are wondering how to add any new aerocaches: Upon Launching the "Addon Manager," navigate to the "Edit" Tab and Select "Aerocache Editor." Here you will be able to add desired aerocaches. Take a look at previously added aerocaches and to add one yourself select "Add New Aerocache" and fill out the blanks with the required information. If you need more information about your Aerocache location, use the SimDataEditor which can be accessed through the root installation folder of the Flight Toolkit. Once you submit your aerocache, it won't be available straight away - it needs to be previewed and authorized by Steve himself; only then will your aerocache appear in-game. ...Oh and err... MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody!
