  1. I really need to get to The Flight Toolkit part of the new thread!
  2. ... and imagine what Flight would have been like, if scenery enhancements were a possibility! I guess that's why Microsoft never released an SDK for Flight. Modified scenery could have been imported from FSX and "enhanced" with Flight's technology, therefore, community members could get third - party scenery for free, instead of buying the official DLC package.
  3. Agreed! Other Simulators wouldn't stand a chance in the market if this was put together!
  4. Sorry Jack, Multiplayer will not work until Steve has sorted that out. The toolkit is GFWL - Less = No connection to Microsoft Servers. EDIT: Thanks Steve for sorting this problem out! Glad everyone has got this up and running! EDIT: Just got onto Flight and realised that everything is lagging except the start up and log on screen. Do you know why this is Steve? Everything else works fine.
  5. What I wish to mention, is that I did backup my Flight data before the servers were shut down. Since the servers are not up anymore, you cannot back up your data. However, everyone's Profile appears to be OK. I am going to work on a solution ... What concerns me is why it is working on only some machines.
  6. I believe so. I got a spreadsheet of all the aerocaches from the support team which included Curvature of the Earth. I will have to double check this though. With the aerocaches, I am puzzled as to why the problem has raised. For me, the aerocaches are working fine. I can only suggest one fix which is uninstalling all versions of the toolkit and installing them sequentially, without doing an unistall. I have never removed the toolkit from my PC - I only overwrite the software. I haven't installed the latest version which released today. Could this be the source of the problem?
  7. There has been a misunderstanding.. -_- The solution which I provided was to fix a connection error with a users GFWL account and Microsoft servers so they could download their DLC normally. To get the aerocaches: 1. Download the latest version of the Toolkit (released today - v. 1.0.18.5) 2. Make sure that the install did not fail! 3. Ensure that your Live Profile data has been backed up. 4. Launch Flight normally and head over to the Aerocache hunt screen! Backing up your LIVE Data: 1. Launch the Addon Manager 2. Launch Flight and Log on to your Profile. 3. Wait for a short while and there should be a green indicator to signify that your profile data has been backed up. It is vital for you to perform this step, otherwise you may lose some data! I will reiterate these steps on the new Sticky to improve accessibility of solutions and tutorials.
  8. Yes. All the Aerocaches that were added to the server ever since Microsoft Flight was released, is available for collection. Edit: Make sure you back up your profile data before using the new tool-kit!
  9. Well it looks like they are already doing that! We had a recent problem with GFWL which did not allow users to log in and download their DLC. If Microsoft really cared about their consumers, they wouldn't do that. Its Microsoft... you never know!
  10. With the new GFWL-Less version of the tool-kit, all the aerocaches that have been put on the server are available. You should get 350 in no time!
  11. Glad everyone got this working! As I have already mentioned, the solution was from the Xbox forums but I repeated it here with step by step instructions to make it easier for you. Hex- Editing is quite difficult to practise! Thanks Waterman for providing some more support! Multiplayer will probably be implemented quite soon, so it's just a matter of waiting... B) If you need any more help, please do not hesitate to ask! ^_^
  12. @WilliamB, I always like to do a clean un-install. It disposes of overwritten or unnecessary files present after a program has been unistalled. The main problem you are facing is with the miniweb. The solution that Waterman has given above should work. Just to clarify, no virus software likes .dll's from a foreign computer so you don't have to worry about that. However, the original thread with the solution which I posted required patching the .dll with a Hex-Editor. I am not sure if the .dll is encrypted, but I did do a fresh install and the client was not run by me! Try the solution posted by Waterman. Tell us if you encounter any more problems!
  13. Was the .xml problem because of me or was it you? Glad you got it working!
  14. Hello folks, Sorry for the delay! The actual solution to this problem is actually available at Xbox.com and specifically on this thread. This fix may not be needed now since Steve has released his GFWL less version of the Toolkit. However, if you are still interested in getting you DLC back then read on... Step 1 - Fully un-istalling and re-installing GFWL Live I know this might be a pain, but some elements of the program is not completely unistalled. 1. Un-istall the program from Control Panel 2. Delete GFWL AppData. This can be done by locating to the following location: “C:\Users\ASRock\AppData\Local\Microsoft\GFWLive.” Delete the Folder named “GFWLive”. 3. Re-install the software. You already know how to do this. Step 2 - Patching the Application As I have mentioned, this solution has derived from patching the application which includes patching the file. I have done the hard-work for you because it is a bit complicated: Go to your GFWL live install location. Normally it is under “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE\Client. Back up “XLiveServices.dll” to somewhere safe. Download this patched .dll and replace it by extracting it to the GFWL install directory. Step 3 - Finishing up Hold on we aren't done here! One final step... Download miniweb and extract it to the “C” directory. You will have something like “C:\miniweb” and inside, there should be a folder named "htdocs". Download this edited .xml file and save it inside the “htdocs” folder. Start Command Prompt by typing cmd into the Search programs and files box in your start menu. Make sure to run it as Administrator (Right Click on cmd --> Run as Administrator). Write into the command prompt the following: cd <Your miniweb folder directory> For example, it is…. “cd C:\miniweb” for me (without quotes) Next type in “miniweb -p 80” (without quotes!) Do not exit the command prompt and now launch the GFWL Client! It should now load without problems! The steps from the solution have been simplified for better clarity and I have done some steps for you. All credit goes to StudentAdler97 for finding this solution! I hope I have helped you out! Good luck and if you do have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
  15. Hello William, I have found a solution! I will post it when I have finished working on the steps! Stay tuned! @Steve: Looking forward to the next release! Good work! Like many on these forums, I have enjoyed watching the progress!
  16. Given that the scenery is based from the ESP. The tools which Steve is producing does not support "tweaked" scenery. I'm sure that this will be met. With the video which Brandon is producing and the dedication which Steve is putting in, Dovetail can't say "no" to developing Flight!
  17. Now that's what I call dedication! Thanks for the SS and have a great vacation! Everything is in good hands here. Be back soon!
  18. True! Just keep it going Steve! I've already discussed the possibility of mission development and it seems unlikely that any tool will come out to support it. Mission creation is tricky through .xml and creating one from scratch requires a mission editor. Everything else seems achievable!
