  1. This includes FSX and the Microsoft Flight engine. Also, why would DTG release a Steam version of FSX and then another modified version? It's logical to think that they will use Flight instead of FSX next year....
  2. Not totally relevant to Microsoft Flight - I know, but it's amazing news that DTG have finally pulled it off! FSX is coming to Steam on December 18th! Very high hopes for Microsoft Flight as well.. if its decided to be featured in DTG's simulator next year. Read more about the announcement here.
  3. Maybe aircraft in airports can be animated and added to the FSX .bgl's? Could that work?
  4. This may sound a little negative but AI traffic may never be possible with Flight - I can sort of suggest why: Boats and Vehicles are NOT animated - there is a possibility that they can be manually animated but this will involve major exporting to Granny Runtime and animating through Autodesk. It may be possible The second problem is that FSX AI is nothing like Flight - obviously! Unlike FSX, Flight doesn't have a traffic .bgl file to control the placement of AI. Again, I'm not sure of this as Microsoft may have hidden the possibility it in the internal code. Law enforcement that you see in missions are programmed - Aircraft are animated. The AI are given a dedicated flight path in the mission script and they follow this path unless another script fires and the mission ends (i.e. when you have been caught). However, there is hope. I remember an image that Dick posted - it had birds... I don't know if they were animated or static. If they were animated then there's hope...
  5. The link to download is still available from the original thread posted by Jeroen. Check here.
  6. Great work once again Steve and thank you for all of your dedication in keeping this Simulator alive!
  7. Nope.. Sorry about that, I mean the Multiplayer enabled version. i.e. the GFWL enabled version! The solution that I posted enables you to revert so that GFWL is once again a dependency. Steve, said that the GFWL version works fine and he has all of his data. Deleting the xlive.dll does not truly revert the FTK, it just enables GFWL for the GFWL -Less version! So I'll have to diagree with: I also tried by starting GFWL on it's own and then running Flight and it doesn't work either way... so the other possibility is that the Flight installation is corrupt which is reported when there is an error in the root install directory. Flight launches GFWL in it's internal code. When xlive.dll is removed from the install directory, why does Flight then start? This is a "global" problem. In computing terms it is affecting more than one local computer. A shortcut does not call upon two executables. You call upon Flight.exe which then directs GFWL to open. In a way this still happens. You cannot completely get rid of the connection between GFWL and Flight. Flight has been compiled with a dependency wih GFWL.exe. The FTK just tells Flight to ignore this.
  8. That's why there is a solution to revert back to the non-GFWL version... I know that there is no problem with the non-GFWL version. I tried moving my Flight installation to a separate HHD but the same problem occurs...
  9. OK. I managed to get to the root of this problem within 2 minutes after posting! New time for me. Solution (for now!): Rough conclusion: The problem appears to be coming from the xlive.dll file in the Main Microsoft Flight folder which is installed by the toolkit to over-run the GFWL-one. Short Term Solution - 1. Install the Multiplayer version of the Toolkit or... 2. Delete and BACKUP, xlive.dll from the root Microsoft Flight version folder to revert to Multiplayer enabled mode. This is a global problem with the Toolkit. Steve should get to it soon. Until then, there is no use in reinstalling the Toolkit if you have the GFWL-Less version... Note: It is fine for Flight to say that the game is corrupted. It really isn't. The Flight Toolkit installs three new files into the main folder which does not correspond to the check sum algorithm which is performed on start-up. You are allowed to add files into the main game folder but the original files cannot be altered.
  10. Great! A global problem! I'll get to work on it....
  11. Don't worry about that, Bob has uploaded his folder already... I'll see if there are any problems. ^_^
  12. Has this forum just gone mice crazy or something? Ah... Devon. It explains quite a lot. Witty guy.
  13. It's a very large rat. Mouse.. tail? Any clues?
  14. Same here.... It asks me to login to my Microsoft Account.
  15. Bob: I'm not sure if you can run without an internet connection. I think Steve may be able to clarify for you. With regards to the data loss, can either one of you upload the contents of the following directory on your PC - "C:\Users\<Admin>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Flight\Players" This will be very useful in identifying the root cause of your problem. Thank you,
  16. Awesome! That looks amazing! Please keep these screenshots rolling!
  17. Hello Bob, This is a known issue and to fix this, you will need the FlightToolkit 1.0.25.5 version of the toolkit. There have been many bug fixes which is hard for anyone to manage, so the website is a little outdated. Thanks to Paul for clearing this up, because I myself cited the wrong version of the toolkit previously. The GFWL - Less version requires an internet connection due to a special connectivity between the game and an external server which contains a database of all the aerocaches.
  18. According to Steve, the conversion of all the scenery files resulted into more than 6.5 GB so everything is possible to be converted (at once) and installed. However, it may take some tweaking to adjust some errors.
  19. I'll probably look into adding that onto the guide! It's quite a long process but a converter is essential. Flight uses .bgl files but they are modified from FSX so you can't view them in TmfViewer. You can import airports into Flight, but that's about it at the moment. Steve, has certainly got this working, but needs to be finalized. The tools are still in beta mode, so only selected developers are able to test. As far as I know Dick, Brandon and Orion are the three who are testing and keeping Steve's spirits high!
  20. Ah... Missed ya! Great to see you back! Yes, you can get all the aerocaches by installing the non-GFWL version which ends in ".5" "Non-GFWL version (Aerocaches and no GFWL keys needed, but no multiplayer) FlightToolkit 1.0.23.5" Scenery conversion is coming soon, so get ready!
