Hi fellow pilots! I have recently updated my P2A version to 2.7.0.2 and trying to get it to work. However, when i am in the cockpit at an airport and ready to talk to ATC, i click connect and receive an error stating that "aircraft position can not be found". I have clicked on the yellow centre on aircraft button and that does nothing either. I have the latest FSUIPC and it is running. It does connect to the simulator, but it cannot seem to read my location. Can anyone help me? This software looks really cool and i would like to fly with it! I am sure i had it working when i first bought it last year but i did not know there was an update for it until i manually checked the website. Thank you for your time. Win10 x64 GTX 1050Ti i58400

Oddly, just looking in my textures folder, I have a load of "VCRain" files (moving and stopped) already!. Anyway, thank you all for your help, I will probably not install the MS files and make do without the cool rain effect, shame they took it out...

Thank you all for clearing that up for me, will definitely look into FSBuild and FSCommander if they are better and more up to date than stock FSX ^_^

looks like I know what piece of hardware to buy first then!... ^_^

Thank you for the warning, I have just been reading the included documentation deciding whether or not to install it. I think I may hold off for now as I do use the FSX flight planner (though I am looking for alternatives). Thank you for your time!

Hello all!. I recently updated my AIRAC cycle for my PMDG 747's FMC and was wondering if it also updates FSX's flight planner with the latest information? It's not a huge deal as everything seems to be running okay, I was just wanting to make sure I was as up to date as possible. I tried it again in 2d view and nothing so I guess I was seeing things as I do not have the vcrain files installed! I may try the MS files and see what happens though! Thank you for your time!

Thank you for your quick reply! So in your opinion is it a good idea to install the VCRain BMPs from here and then the fix from flight 1? Will this give me the rain effect without the opaque windshield problem? I just don't get how it happened once and never again! :wacko: it's not a huge problem or anything, I was just curious!

Hi all! I have searched for this and found a number of posts relating to VCRain and copying files from FS9 to FSX but I was wondering if I really need to?. Recently, I was sat at my local airport in the rain in the stock C172 and noticed rain drops on my windshield, which looked cool. But, ever since then, I have not been able to duplicate this, I have not copied any files (though I will if I need to) and was just curious if this was an obscure feature I had enabled unknowingly and have since lost or whether I was just seeing things! Thank you for your time!

Oh okay, thank you for clarifying that for me! that almost definitely explains what has been happening then! ^_^ I simply need more practice with taking off in a crosswind! Thank you for your time, it is much appreciated!. I have an eye on some nice hardware which I will be getting as soon as I can afford it! sauviat: I have indeed! think I may have overlooked this small matter :blush: mystery solved! maybe I should wait for a nicer day to fly! :lol:

Wow! lots of replies already! B) Well where to start... I am using the stock C172 and had this problem to a lesser degree before I added any addons, and I assumed it was simply my inexperience. I have not been using this joystick very often until recently, but maybe it could be time to invest in a new one?. I have calibrated the joystick recently but will do so again just in case. As for crosswind, shouldn't that have been disabled when I disabled the turbulence? please correct me if I'm wrong!. I do not have any hardware other than a joystick (yet!) and have not modified any files (nothing has asked me to). All realism settings are exactly centered between easy and realistic. I will try taking off again using the throttle slower and see if that helps. Autorudder is enabled. Thank you all so much for your extremely quick replies, I wish I had joined this site sooner! :-)

Hi all! I just thought I would post here as a last resort as I have a problem preventing me flying. Whenever I go beyond taxiing speed, my Cessna 172 pulls violently to the left or right causing me to be blown off the runway!. I am using REX Essentials for weather and textures but I have made sure to disable the wind options in REX for now until I get more experienced and fancy a challenge! :-) I have disabled turbulence in FSX as it states in the REX manual and cannot understand why I keep getting blown off the runway!. This is obviously preventing me from flying (which I really want to do!). Any help or advice would be much appreciated, please don't hesitate to ask me questions as I will answer them the best I can, also please check my PC and Simulator specs for more details if needed. Hi all! Thank you for the warm welcome! I have dabbled with Microsoft Flight Simulator since '98 but never really got into it until I bought FSX. I am trying to work through the tutorials but they keep getting cancelled because "I seem to be distracted" one day I will crack them though! :-) Practice makes perfect!. Currently looking for addons to enhance my experience and having trouble but that is another post for somewhere else!.
