  1. Hi all After watching this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9MRlFFXPL8&list=UU8_bi6SOITpwzhcZ_DdXzAQ you can see that during rotation and acceleration alttitude, the Captain didn't trim at all, I think only once,( using the blip trim function, I reckon). but at acceleration altitude, we can see him pressing gently the nose DN trim switch, but what shock me is that we can see that the pitch response is Very Smooth, with the current version, even if you change the TRS by +- 8-10 kts, the plane will pitch up/Down quite severly, thus lots of pressure required to try maintaing the flight path. acceleration starts at : 3:45 Am I the only one having that feeling ?? regards CMB
  2. Hi all, I've set my axis through fsuipc calibration. i've been able to set the trim up/dn through the button +swithes menu. I've set the Ap off function to my joystick button but when i press it the Ap doesn't go off, what's the fsuipc name for Ap disconnection/At off / TOGA ? thanks CMB?
  3. Sorry I meant double I'm not blamming PMDG, but the way the blip trim enters in action, because it seems that you can trim 10 kts by ten kts, because if less, the blip trim enters in action, changing suddenly the attitude
  4. Hi, I found that it's quite hard to trim the T7 because of the blip trim trigger : * at initial climb after flaps retraction, target speed is 250 KIAS, so i often add +5 tks to the trim speed reference(TSR), but as the speed is increasing and is within 5kts of the TSR, each time I trim, the blip trim enters into action , so the the pitch attitude suddently goes up, then i increase the TSR and re increase that the blip trim tale over ...... I don't know how the pilots deals with this in real life, but for me it will be more easy and intuitive to like doudle tap quicky the trim swithces if the PF wants the blip trim to enter in action. of course lets say the speed is 200 kts and i want 250, i can gradually set 210, 220, then 230...... but i found that even a 10 kts difference is too much as the plane will pitch up severly, thus needing lots of deflection to maintain level for example. Hope to hear some suggesitons regards CMB
  5. @ 777simmer How do you trim when changing speed : let's say you want to reduce 210 kts to 180kts while flying level, will you , : * 1 press the trim button for 3 sec ( trim reference speed is now set to 180kts ) * 2 press gradually the trim buttton until you get 180 sec. because if i do 1, the plane will severly pitch up to reach the new trim reference speed, so I need to give lots of forward input to maintain the A/C level with 2 it's hard because the blip trim enters in action each time so the trim reference speed barely moves and as the plane is decelerating, the A/C pitch down severly so i have to keep back pressure. I found it to be more difficult to trim regarding with the NGX. With the NGX when decelerating to 180ktsd from 210 kts, i just often tap the trim switch and I barely give input with the yoke to maintain level path.... CMB EDIT : By switching off the primary Flight Control ( PFC) thus in direct law, i found that trimming is easier jsut like the NGX What a coincidence, I have the same one If you find a setting that works realistically please share with me
  6. It will depend on your joystick, unless you have the same as Rob
  7. hi all I'm having an issue setting the sensitivity of my axis for the PMDG B777 I have a very sensible joystick : thrustmaster hotas Tflight X i've set to fsuipc calibration, nulzone for elevator is something like -4000/4000 non linear set to + 15 ( trying to reduce to senstivity of the aircraft). Default sullzone in the CDU even with these setting it's too sensible : for example with the elevator : when i move the yoke and then holding the deflection, in fsx the yoke is still deflecting, so if i give 1/5 back pressure, i think i will have 1/5 backpressure in the PMDG, but looks like there is a delay because when I stop deflecting, it is still deflecting in FSX. Quite the same thing with yoke but for bank, I barely give 10° deflection with my stick, but in FSX it's like the yoke has turned + 30° Any Idea ?
  8. yeah, thanks Kyle for your explanation What I meant is that even if at the end , trimming the B777 is like trimming a B737, while trimming it won't behave the same : for example, lets assume that we are flying level at 210 kts and I want to reduce it to 180 kts while still flying level : (AT ON) with the NGX : i will just gently trim up as long as speed is decreasing in order to maintain V/S =0, so with the NGX it's easy to maintain LEVEL Flight in speed change without giving any input on the yoke With the PMDG B777, it's a different story again i will gently trim up, but because of the blid trim, the trim will go back to the current aircraft airspeed, so i have you trim more severly in order to avoid the blid trim to go into action, but the speed is not decreasing fast enough I will have to give input ( forward input as the trim speed reference will pitch up to target the trimmed speed, as I want to maintain level, need to push the yoke ). So i'm having a hardtime controlling FLIGHT PATH in speed changes. i don't how the blip trim enters into action in the real b777, but with PMDG, when your TRS is within 5 kts of your curent airpseed when you press the trim button, the blip trim enters into action, it will be better for example to give 2 trim tap within 300 ms to make the blip trim enters into action. hope now you understand what i mean
  9. Nice explanation Rob, i initally thouht that yoi trim to release force but for maintainning the desired Flight path too, but I learnt that you maintain flight path by adding more or less thrust for a given speed. the thing I don't understand, is why boeing didn't implement a standard trim system lijke a cessna/B737, when you trim you only move the THS ( not the elevator), because the trim reference speed is not convenient I think but that's my opinion.
  10. I have the same issue V/S seems decreasing even in trim. My nullzone in FSUIPC is -3500 / 3500 is that not enough ? Defaut null zone in the MCDU
  11. I'm aware tthat if the aircraft is trimmed for X speed if you accelerate or decelerate, the Aircraft will pitch up or down accordingly. the thing is how to keep the desired speed while maintainning the desired flight path. I notice that even with AT on the aircraft is still pitching down most of the time, even if the AC is correctly trimmed at the desired speed ....................
  12. Yes but when you're trimmed for X speed , how do you maintain the desired flight path at X speed ? What i mean is that imagine that you're trimmed for 160 kts and flying level, you disengage both AP and AT, and pudh the yoke until you get a -600 fts/min when you release the stick will the flight path ( ie -600 fts/min :constant speed) remain inchange ????
  13. Awesome post Rob. After reading, I wanna say A320-A380 FTW, as the C* autotrims for anything, so you don't need to get confuse with Trim reference speed, artificail feels.... @ Rob How do you change the flight path while in trim : For instance, lets say that you're in trim for 160 kts speed at a v/S of -500 feets/min, and you want to fly level at 160 kts, do you have to only to increase the thrust ? Because during an ILS approach, wy VS was -900 feets /min and was getting below, so I pitch up until I get -600 fts/min but after releasing the yoke ( AT on), the Ac will slowly pitch down, so I don't know how to maintain a steady flight path Imy vertical speed always go within -900 and - 550 and it's not very stable :( Do you have an advice ? Thnaks CMB
  14. My bad, which they made airbuses, ATR , SSJ 100, EMBRER 500 though
  15. yep, but it's nice to make a choice, PMDG A320 and FSlab A320. But as PMDG is american, i don't think they will do european aircraft like Airbus A320-A330..A340, ATR42-72..... unfortunately

  17. Hi I've noticed that the wind data provided by Data link ( ASN ) is quite wrong, I don't if PMDG have tweaked the value a little bit as these are forecasted value and can't 100% accurate by having 006° instead of 113° https://www.dropbox.com/s/wyfnqu8u3hycqut/wind%20issue.png Thanks CMB
  18. yep, i have also these FPS drop when I added the fix for ETOPS CMB
  19. even with these kind of specs : Modèle Processeur Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ (2,80 GHz) Nombre de cœurs 4 Mode Turbo 3,80 GHz MÉMOIRE Capacité mémoire 8192 Mo Barrette(s) installée(s) 1 Emplacement(s) disponible(s) 3 Type SO-DIMM DDR3L Fréquence 1600 MHz Maximum 32768 Mo AFFICHAGE Écran 17,3" Tactile Non Résolution Full HD 1080 (1920 x 1080) Aspect de la dalle Mat / Anti-reflets Carte graphique NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 880M Type GDDR GDDR5 Mémoire totale 4096 Mo STOCKAGE Espace disque total 1128 Go Nombre d'unité de stockage 2 Emplacement 2,5" n°1 HDD 1 To 7200trs/min Emplacement 2,5" n°2 Non Emplacement mSATA n°1 SSD 128 Go
  20. Well I can't afford the 4940MX, I can get only the i7 4810 XX with a turbo at 3.8Ghz. Well I only have photoscenries or use default fsx scenry. I don't use any traffic add on Well 25FPS with PMDG 777 and aerosoft EDDF I'll be quite happy with that What does bottleneck means ( CPU limited ) if the 4800 is a bottleneck, so my i7 950 is very very very bottleneck then
  21. Hi I don't know if I can post this kind of topic here but I posted a similar topic on the AVSIM Hardware subforum but I didn't get answers .... :( I currently have a desktop PC with 8 Go of RAM / i7 950 / GTX 580. i want to have a laptop as my desktop PC takes too much space : I'm thinking of buying the MSI GT70 2PE which has the following config : Modèle Processeur Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ (2,80 GHz) Nombre de cœurs 4 Mode Turbo 3,80 GHz MÉMOIRE Capacité mémoire 8192 Mo Barrette(s) installée(s) 1 Emplacement(s) disponible(s) 3 Type SO-DIMM DDR3L Fréquence 1600 MHz Maximum 32768 Mo AFFICHAGE Écran 17,3" Tactile Non Résolution Full HD 1080 (1920 x 1080) Aspect de la dalle Mat / Anti-reflets Carte graphique NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 880M Type GDDR GDDR5 Mémoire totale 4096 Mo STOCKAGE Espace disque total 1128 Go Nombre d'unité de stockage 2 Emplacement 2,5" n°1 HDD 1 To 7200trs/min Emplacement 2,5" n°2 Non Emplacement mSATA n°1 SSD 128 I think that i can get better performance with this laptop because my current CPU is quite old, and FSX is mostly CPU demanding, my GTX only below 40% of GPU use even if I'm in 1024 and 1920*1080 the GTX 880m is quite like a GTX 660TI , so it's not a bad card for a mobile card G3D Mark Relative to Top 10 Common Videocards As of 25th of July 2014 - Higher results represent better performance GeForce GTX 780 8,052 GeForce GTX 770 6,191 GeForce GTX 680 5,715 GeForce GTX 670 5,386 Radeon HD 7970 / R9 280X 5,144 GeForce GTX 760 4,985 GeForce GTX 580 4,973 GeForce GTX 660 Ti 4,686 Radeon HD 7950 4,657 GeForce GTX 880M 4,651 What do you think about the processor ? Do you think i can run FSX smoothly with the PMDG 777 with texture at 2048 and rex 4 texture at 2048 and DT5 ? Thanks CMB
  22. Do you have the same issue with rte 1 ?
