  1. Sure it would increase sales. If I have both 650 and 750 running in my A2A Bonanza, it seems that the 650 is slaved to the aircraft systems. How do I make the 750 slaved to the aircraft instead of the 650?
  2. Hi Franck Yes I thought about that too instead of disabling the 650. Regarding weather, looks like we are talking of a kind of meteo radar within the GPS. It would be a nice addition indeed. You desire it so much, that I'm with you man 🙂
  3. Hello Franck, Thanks so much for your time and quite comprehensive explanations. Yeah I thought about loading the same flight plan into both GTN 650/750. I read indeed about Little Navmap and others. I'm using FSTramp and I do not wish to multiply softwares. Understood for text editing. So it can become tricky. I confess that since I moved to P3D I am no more into tweaking, editing, etc. I think I wil keep using my flight planner and type in one GTN (the 750) the flight plan. I will reactivate the 650 when crossfill is available. Hopefully a mate good at programming will release someday a utility to convert a standard P3D .fpl to .gfp
  4. You are most welcome. Here https://orbxdirect.com/product/ksba you are right. And here https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/162027-ksba-santa-barbara-municipal-airport-now-available-for-fsxp3d/ they say "For the best experience, FTX Southern California should be..." There is the Black Friday before Christmas. I read that under 1 month after release, there is no discount, and recent products have a max of 30% discount.
  5. Purchased Santa Barbara and did a quick local fight. Quality scenery and all looks very nice even without Socal Region. Santa Barbara is not as big as I imagined by watching the map, but still a quite large zone for local flights. Well worth the money.
  6. Or I will possibly disable the 650 untill crossfill is available.
  7. I understand that sometimes in the future, the feature will be available. I think I read in a thread that it's in the pipe. Meanwhile, please give me an advice. I plan to enter the flightplan in the 750, use its moving map, and display data related to the flight plan. For the 650 of course I don't want to enter again the flight plan, so I plan to use it to display infos not related to the flight plan, such as: ground speed, timer, and so on... Makes sense? PS: it's good to see the friendly presence of both of you here.
  8. Hi Both, Oh I see, I misread then. Thanks.
  9. Thanks Martin. raymie, I did not see "Required" on their webpage but "For the best experience ". But let's wait for a confirmation.
  10. Hi, I purchased the GTN 650 earlier this week. While I still like VOR and NDB navigation, looks like I'm hooked to GPS... so I ended up buying the GTN 750. I can't get to crossfill GTN 650/750 on the A2A Bonanza because the buttons are grayed out.
  11. Hi, I am considering to get OrbX KSBA Santa Barbara. The advertisement says: For the best experience, FTX Southern California should be purchased and installed prior to using this airport. I have FTX Global + LC + Vector but I don't have NA Southern California. I would like to stress that I plan to do some local flights only within the KSBA Santa Barbara scenery flight zone. In that conditions, is there an interest to buy NA Southern California?
  12. Gerry: personally for flying airliners, FTX Global + LC + Vector. I only use regions, and flight zones for small GA aircrafts. All: thanks for your kind contributions. I'll hold my purchase until Black Friday and see what happens.
  13. Unfortunately there is no plan for FSTramp to support .gfp
  14. Hi, I'm using FSTramp and I've just emailed the author to ask if that flight planner can support .gfp format in the future.
  15. Hello both, Thanks. Franck, why am I not surprised to see you in this forum? 🙂 I had already the Pilot's Guide but have now downloaded your Cockpit Reference Guide.
  16. Merci Jean Luc, yes I read the footnote. I was seeking for a non-manual way to generate a gfp file as FSTramp apparently don't support that format. Will check the pinned thread.
  17. Thanks guys and thank Ollie for the reminder on the dates and %. Much appreciated. I have all Global products. For region I have only Pacific Northwest, and 4 small airports in that area. I'm not so interested in other regions in the US and the World. After an absence I discover the flight zones like Santa Barbara or Palm Springs and find them quite interesting in (high) quality, and coverage (for quick and small local flights).
  18. Hi, I searched in the GTN 625/635/650 Pilot's Guide and looked in the System Setup but did not find. By default the Com/Stanby Freq is displayed. If I click on the small know then the Nav/Standby is displayed. However after a period of time, the display automatically returns to Com/Stanby. It seems that it is not possible to maintain the Nav/Standby display?
  19. Hi, 1) If I recall correctly, OrbX 50% sales happen in the end of the year? I'm quite interested in flight zones sceneries: KPSP Palm Springs KSBA Santa Barbara 2) Palm Springs having been released a couple of years ago, chances are it will be 50% at the sales. Santa Barbara being recent, it probably won't be on sale... so I can buy it now? 3) Do you recommend other good flight zones by OrbX?
  20. Hi, I read page 9 of the manual and created the virtual datacard folder. I don't understand how I can generate a flight plan with .gfp file extension. I have FSTramp as flightplanner. And a user waypoint file is another way to create manually a fligght plan and import it?
  21. Hi Franck, Thanks for your kind words and recommendations. Will comply! I'll start simple, with 1 aircraft (anyway I have only 2 aircrafts) and the basic features and will build up from there. My first impressions: I cannot refrain from saying that after a long absence with no addon purchase with a F1 wrapper, the system is still not user friendly, for buying, reinstalling... As usual with the F1 wrapper, things are made complicated for the regular user paying legally for the product. While with most addons sellers it's simpler and straightforward. Now the good: Installation of the RXP GTN 650 was easy and flawless. When I turned on the device in the A2A Bonanza, all worked correctly on the 1st try Aesthetically and technically, the size and integration of the GTN 650 to aircraft is just perfect for me True that it is a bit hard to read (due to the size of the 650 vs 750), the digits are event smaller than the default avionics ones. So I set a special zoom view with the Chase Plane utility True that most usual functions are 2 clicks away as said in the advertisement Yesterday I only touched the surface of the software but feel it's quite usable and feature-rich All in all, I am happy and feel I made the right compromise by choosing the RXP GTN 650 Off to the roard... err the sky to use the 650. Thanks again to all mates who participated to this thread.
  22. I know Sean since the early days of RealAir in the 2000's. After an absence, and come back on flightsim a month ago, I sent him an email to the address mentioned on http://www.realairsimulations.net/ No answer from Sean since then. At the time I sent the email, I was not aware of Vertx etc. Now I think he must be very busy so I did not re-send or anything of that sort.
