  1. If it doesn't have wing flex I'm not buying it! Grrrr.. ...and of course joking.
  2. Not just yet..... haven't got the magic "here's the download link" or .... "it's in your Insider Hub NOW!" email....
  3. I agree. This is one of those discussions where the point of view of both "sides" isn't mutually exclusive. It is very possible that Microsoft are doing an amazing job (which they are) of keeping us informed about the new sim. However, the actual insider area (ie not the whole fs.com site but only that single section that you have to be logged in to see) is not updated very often, and it's contents are published here and on other forums within 5 minutes of appearing. In other words, you're more likely to see the insider content first on the discussion forum that you participate in every day, than you are on the site it actually originated on. That in itself takes away a lot of the value of that site. Personally I'd prefer it if people here just posted "There is an update on the MS Insider area" and we all trundle over there to see it. But that is never going to happen.
  4. There is a difference between these 2 sentences: 1.) What is the current value of the Insider area to those not participating in the testing? 2.) Microsoft are not providing me any value in the Insider area. Your replies are based on the OP saying the latter, but that's actually not what he's saying. He's also not blaming Microsoft for it. It's an observation. Being patient, standing on one leg, or eating only fried food doesn't provide any extra value either.
  5. I just had a "moment" and needed to come in here for 5 minutes. All good now though so ... seeya.
  6. Actually I did have similar thoughts... as in, which is the value of the Insider area when people post all the content to here and other fora anyway? However people shouldn't be posting that insider content to anywhere else and if I were Microsoft (and had the time) I'd probably tell them that. No real harm done, but it does reduce the value of the insider area - and that's not Microsoft's fault.
  7. Nope, just the invite, which came pretty late in the batch, on the 3rd or 4th day I think.
  8. It's not all that difficult to simulate things that you experience on a real flight. For example, when using the sim, I've asked my wife to only serve me bland, soggy, tasteless food with little love or attention paid during it's preparation. When she asked me what she needs to do differently from any other meal I just said - "nothing at all".
  9. Invite received but no change to Insider Hub yet. I'm going to head over to the "Calm Down" thread until this changes so I don't do anything stupid.
  10. As mentioned above, completely log out of your Microsoft account and then clear cookies (or use a different browser, but still after logging out of the Microsoft account). They have fudged something up and it's still not totally fixed, but the above fixes it for me.
  11. Memory you didn't think would be useful. Runway behind you. Altitude above you. All useless things. Admittedly I run lots of virtual machines and, for example, being able to hold a 32GB SQL database in memory while running another 16GB Virtual machine and still having 16GB available for the desktop is wonderful. Too much memory is a bit like too much intelligence (so they tell me). You don't need it to survive, but boy can you make use of it.
  12. It's annoying,. You have to logout of your microsoft account (just go to bing.com and click at the top right) and then delete all cookies from fs.com). If, like me, you have miltiple Microsoft accounts, it breaks again 5 minutes later.... so I've started using Edge browser for fs.com and Chrome for everything else.
  13. Look at the message headers. Mine originated from IP 147.253.216.154 (sparkpostmail.com) and bounces.ageofempires.com verifies it as a permitted sender (spf record exists).
  14. Pacifica ordered the MAX 8. We probably wont see them until July at the earliest.
  15. Has anyone mentioned they have been given access to ALPHA yet? I've not been paying that much attention but can't remember any post about it.
  16. You make a good point. Didn't think of that. Every time I feel a twinge of excitement or anticipation I read one of his posts to bring me back down to earth.
  17. Was definitely the latter, and rather funny. If not I'll eat your hat. Can't believe he wrote vr though... must have been referring to rotation speed.
  18. I don't think I'm alone in being able to remain both sane and calm while also being excited about a hobby that I crave. There has been far more than just marketing. Yes it is controlled by Microsoft (and why would you expect at this stage for that to be any different?) .If your post was made 6 months ago then it might have some merit, but given the amount of information that has been released, and feedback from people that are NOT Microsoft and are likely much less biased, your post telling us how we should act and feel is a tad condescending. If I'm disappointed when the product is finally released then I will be the first to apologise to you.
  19. It is for me now in a different browser. Must still be some residual cookies / cache although I forget how many times I've deleted everything over the last 12 hours.
