  1. MilViz support is so good I didn't actually need to finish requesting support before finding my problem. My Pilatus Porter PC-6 was causing a crash to desktop whenever I tried to load any version of the plane. Every other aircraft (including 2 other MilViz) worked. I went to milviz.com, clicked on support, selected my aircraft, OS and sim platform then the next step shows the system requirements where I found I was behind a bit on updating P3D (I was on P3D 4.5.11.29713, Milviz showed P3D 4.5.12.30293). I got out of there, updated the P3D client, and viola! Everything works.
  2. +1 for the Milviz DHC-2 Beaver. I also discovered a freeware Ant's Airplanes Eaglet Float version at https://www.antsairplanes.com/freeanddemos.html and it is surprisingly fun to fly. The Beaver is amphib, the free Eaglet is straight floats. Now I'm immersed in Alaska bush flying with scenery from Return To Misty Moorings installed on top of ORBX Alaska regions and Tongass Fjords X. It really brings it to life. All the RTMM stuff is free.
  3. Another +1 for the Vertx DA62. I updated the nav with minimum subscriptions to fsAerodata and Navigraph and it was well worth it to have that on all my aircraft. I took it around the US and down into the caribbean shortly after getting it and had a great time. My A2A C182 doesn't do well on autopilot if you increase the sim rate, which they warn you about in the manual. I don't know if that is the case with other A2A aircraft.
  4. I have Carenado's CT206H and SR22 with G1000's as well as planes from others with the G1000. I agree with Bert, there is no comparison. I'm not a real-world pilot but the Vertx G1000 matches the real-world Garmin manual pretty well. There is a G1000 Pilot's Guide specifically for the Diamond DA62 (190-01895-00_A). I bought the plane a few weeks ago and already have over 130 hours on it. Between the Vertx DA62, A2A C182, and MilViz DHC2 Beaver I rarely have any use for the rest of my fleet. Make sure you check out VNV in the DA62 G1000, it is amazing once you learn how to use it. There are some good YouTube tutorials. I also love that when you select a transition for an approach, they are accurately depicted on the map screen as you scroll through the list so you don't have to refer to charts to decide which one to use.
  5. I emailed Sean at Vertx about it.
  6. See, I knew someone could steer me right. Thanks Jose!
  7. I love this plane, but is it me, or is the alternate air valve missing? There is a label in the cockpit on the left side under the instrument panel for ALTERNATE STATIC but I don't see anything there and I've crawled around the cockpit with the Lorby Flashlight (http://www.lorby-si.com/downloads.html). It's mentioned numerous times in the Diamond AIRPLANE FLIGHT MANUAL DA 62. I haven't posted this to Vertx support yet, I thought I'd see if someone here could straighten me out first.
  8. Great comparison between the two and a good point on the Carenado Synthetic Vision. I was considering getting it for some other Carenado's I own and if I already had it that would be a factor on which DA62 to choose. Can anyone tell me how the two are for night flying? I have a few aircraft from Carenado and some have ok cockpit and landing lights while others are terrible. Landing the Carenado SR22 GTSX on a moonless night is an adventure. On the other end of the spectrum the A2A C182 is fantastic both in the cockpit and lighting up the runway.
  9. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't begin to count the number of times I've had to switch the sim back to daytime just to find the bleeping light switches and the seemingly endless amount of time I've spent waiting for it to load. Well done!
