  1. I post this in case anyone else is experiencing the same CTDs. My rig, 13900, RTX4090, 64GB 5500 RAM. SU12 beta latest. P2A beta latest. FSUIPC latest. I typically fly VR - two FS Economy missions daily in 3rd party aircraft (not Asobo stock). My simconnect connections are complicated with a Buttkicker, Navigraph Charts, P2A, FS Realistic, FS Traffic, FS Economy and my VR rig - HP G2 with Windows Mixed Reality. I realize that there are a million possible combinations of these things that could cause a CTD. My CTDs typically happen after at least a half hour flying - around the time for the descent and approach. The actually CTD seems to have various triggers - touching the autopilot, changing my view suddenly, touching other controls in the cockpit - it varies. But the result is that the VR headset suddenly goes dark and a few seconds later MSFS disappears from my screen as well. However, I can still hear motors. Often I have to go into Steam to close MSFS or use the Task Manager to do it. This has been going on for several weeks and I complete about 1 out of 4 flights. I tried all kinds of combinations - running in Safe Mode (works fine but obviously no P2A with that). I eliminated Traffic, Charts, Buttkicker, etc. to see if I could find the cause. The Event Viewer variously blamed MSFS, FSUIPC, and P2A. It varied each time, but I began to suspect the FSUIPC combination. When I stopped using FSUIPC and P2A, I started having perfect flights. Not a single crash in days now with all of the complicated stuff running. I have used P2A for many years with no problems. I write this to see if anyone else is having a similar problem - which would prompt Dave to get involved. I dunno. Perhaps it is my complicated system, but what are you seeing?
  2. Hello, I'm having issues with CTDs while programming the MCDU, specifically while using Aerosoft's Airbus collection. The views will freeze while programming the MCDU and then it crashes to the desk top. I have included the two App Crash Views that occurred last night. 4. Hey everyone I recently bought the Mindstar G1000 add-on for my FSX. Unfortunately, I had to find out that the flight plan function is causing some trouble, a CTD to be more precise. After having read some topics on this forum and also having tested a few things (new fsx.cfg etc.), I decided to reinstall my FSX (by following PMDG's guide - so it's definitively a clean installation). After the re-installation, I only installed some pay-ware sceneries and of course the Mindstar G1000. Sadly, that didn't fix the problem for me. The error always appeared to be the same both before and afterwards. Here the description: I open FSX, select the default C172 equipped with Mindstar's G1000 on a random airport and hit "start flight". In the cockpit after starting the engine, I open the flight plan window on the MFD and dial in a random waypoint. When pressing ENT to accept it, FSX freezes and closes. I get the following application error: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14 Faulting module name: API.DLL, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb58 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000179f2 Faulting process id: 0x10b8 Faulting application start time: 0x01d2e5f2a4b681ce Faulting application path: C:\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: C:\FSX\API.DLL Report Id: 33e93874-51e6-11e7-879b-40167eaccbd3 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this problem, because the Mindstar G1000 is such a great add-on and it’s a pity if some features would be refused to me. 5. The nightmare started with the WU3. And since then, I have not found a solution to the CTDs that occur on each flight. Everything starts well, then during the flight (generally after 30 minutes or so) MSFS crashes with the same 0xc0000005 code. I have tried everything, among others: 1 / Reinstalling MSFS 2 / Emptying the Community folder except FBW A320. 3 / Set the CPU and RAM to their original values. Needless to say, all the drivers are up to date and my PC passes OCCT and RealBench tests without any problem. I will not be reinstalling W10 since I assembled my new PC less than 3 months ago. There are many cases of CTDs code 0xc0000005 on the official MSFS forum, but none of the suggested solutions work for me. I love MSFS, but I come to regret uninstalling P3D, a "cheesy" but reliable simulator. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
  6. After installing ORBX Telluride scenery in my P3DV4.0 (by FTX Central 3) I noted that Bonanza (P3DV4 default) vc panel textures were corrupted with a mixing of 2d and 3d images, moreover I had frequent CTD loading some Carenado planes (Phenom300, Navajo, C90, H850XP); this problems were never before ORBX Telluride installation. After lowering the grass detail level and other details using Telluride control panel, this problems were solved completely and everything returned to normal, no more CTD. In my modest opinion this interference is not fortuitous, connected maybe to an overloading of video card or other possible texture rendering interferences in my system. It would be interesting to know if other customers have had similar problems. Thanks, GR My specs: I7 6700K, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 760 2GB, 2 x SSD .
  7. Good day Everyone, I seem to be encountering a rather strange issue. Upon loading into the default LIRF (Rome) with the DC6 Olympic Airways, the cockpit with all panels black is shown for a few seconds before the sim CTD. I currently only have ORBX Vector, Global and Europe_LC installed on a fresh P3D version When loading into the default scenario at Eglin AFB and only changing the aircraft to the DC6, everything seems to start fine. In addition, when I load into LIRF with any other default aircraft, everything loads fine as well. Thus it must be the combination of the location and aircraft causing the crash. 8. Hello, I have been experiencing weird crashes since a few days ago. Every time I press the space bar to pan the view around the VC, FSX crashes and sends me back to desktop, with the typical message saying that FSX has crashed and must close. I have already tried reinstalling the NGX several times but without any luck so far. I'm only using FSX Steam edition on Windows 10. Is there a fix to this problem? Thanks.
  9. Hi, I'm using Prepar3D Professional (v3.4.22.19868 Client versión) in Windows 10 (versión 1703, compilation 15063.674) and every time I try to select PMDG 737NGX it produces a crash to desktop. I have have no idea about what to do because it worked OK a few days ago. Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards, Jose

  11. Hi all, am I the only one who experiences CTD's when switching between window mode and full screen? It only happens when flying products by PMDG, other birds (Level D, Captain Sim, Wilco Feelthere etc) are not affected. Bye
  12. So I had Ulitmate Traffic installed but i unintalled it using the built in program. Then i installed woai and some ai to go with it. I started fsx and it crashed right after It finisheds loading after I press begin flight. Whats wrong with it?
  13. Hi all,This is just for the record. System specs are at the bottom of this note. I've tried more than two dozen flights but *all* have frozen and CTD'd or just CTD'd. All but 3 of the flights followed the tutorial. Some CTDs were while on the ground, some during the takeoff roll, most in the air. All setup instructions from the Introduction that can be implemented have been implemented. As the PMDG MD-11, 747X, & J41 all work fine, I'm going to assume there is a PEBKAC and put the 737NGX aside for a while and watch this forum for a while. First CTD

It is getting hard to keep track of all the separate threads popping up. Anyhow, we don't seem to have one for CTD's yet so can report my first one just now. Took off from Newcastle in the Seneca. After fiddling with the autopilot realized it wasn't working so attempted to resume manual control. Pushed forward on the stick to reduce pitch, game locked with loss of sound then after about 10 seconds CTD. Will check tomorrow and see if it created any sort of dump file, one would hope there is some means of capturing "assertions" though nothing obvious.

  16. Ok, I have had issues the past few days with my FSX freezing! I have done everything except re-install Windows (including using REVO to uninstall FSX and any add-ons). He is my computer specs:Velocity Micro Edge Z40Intel i7-2600K 3.40GHz8GB RamnVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPUWindows 7 64bitI want to assume that it has something to do with Radar Contact, but the freezes are extremely random, and will even occur if I do not have RC running. I have d/l and installed the updated UIAutomationCore.dllThis problem has only started occurring in the past couple of days. Only thing different that I have done in the past few days from previous flights is that I am now flying in Europe instead of the USA (is there a known issue with this? 17. Never seen this this before ?, its seems like its Microsoft Office issue, but i don't even have office on this PC ?? 1, i have just re installed AI companion, and bumped up my OC to 5.0 2, earlier today had to run a repair on the P3D Scenery in control panel 3, also updated graphics to 471.41 but windows update tried to update the same driver just after me ( annoying) turned that setting off now anybody experienced this PS : just for clarity , iam not blaming AI companion, I love it just kept stopping working with an error lol Prepar3D.exe 5.2.22.27615 60db69bf ACETXT.DLL 14.0.7248.5000 5e7bdf04 c0000409 00000000000319b8 1840 01d78473079eff61 S:\P3DV5\Prepar3D.exe C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\OFFICE14\ACETXT.DLL 4e70572e-3431-4c81-bd85-db0c3dddbd5d
  18. Hi everyone I've recently started to use PSXseecon along with RealTraffic but I have a rather peculiar problem. The pair work great at most airports but at certain airports (EDDF for example) the PSXseecon injects all the parked aircraft, but no live traffic, and after a few seconds the PSXseecon client crashes with no warning or error and all the parked traffic disappear too. If I run the pair on a networked PC basically the same thing happens with the difference being PSXseecon client freezes and causes the entire client system to freeze too and I have to restart the client PC. Any help or assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks
  19. Hello pilots I have a strange problem. I fly p3dv4 online via the IVAO network but have the problem when getting to close to an other online plane (IVAO player) p3d crashes to desktop (menus.dll error). This happens all the time. (a reboot of P3d and or PC does not fix this). Situation: I see the online plane (in this case from a friend of mine), no problem at all but as soon as I get in the near neighborhood of his plane (for example when on departure line up behind) my p3dv4 crashes to windows 10 desktop. I reinstalled the MTL files no solution. I uninstalled IVAP and did a fresh install of IVAP (latest version) and downloaded the MTL files again no solution. It still crashes when getting to close to other aircraft. (crash detection in P3DV4 is off). Avatar modes on or of is no solution. I use a registered version FSUIPC 5. I just do not understand why the sim works fine, I see the online (ivao) traffic but only when getting to close I have a CTD. Looks like it has something to do with the distance to another plane. Switching planes from my side (standard P3Dv4 plane and or PMDG 737 is no solution) My friend on the other side switching plane is no solution. Choosing a different MTL file in IVAP is no solution. Does anyone else have this problem also? I could use some help on this. Thank you all already for support. Regards Mike.
  20. MilViz support is so good I didn't actually need to finish requesting support before finding my problem. My Pilatus Porter PC-6 was causing a crash to desktop whenever I tried to load any version of the plane. Every other aircraft (including 2 other MilViz) worked. I went to milviz.com, clicked on support, selected my aircraft, OS and sim platform then the next step shows the system requirements where I found I was behind a bit on updating P3D (I was on P3D 4.5.11.29713, Milviz showed P3D 4.5.12.30293). I got out of there, updated the P3D client, and viola! Everything works.
  21. Hi everyone, I purchased the PMDG 747 a few months ago, and recently I have been having problems with it. I have P3D V4.2 with some addons. I can run the PMDG 777 and 737 just fine, no problems, but When I load the regular PMDG 747-400 house livery, GE engines, it loads everything, and right after the loading complete, the screen stays black, nothing loads, and then usually stops responding. then, without a notification, it just exits out of Prepar3D, and I have to load everything back again. A few hours ago I got a notification, and I will load the log for the error below. It said the faulting module was "KERNELBASE.dll" iin the application "View All Problem Reports, but below another module caused the problem. I was spawned at default Eglin AFB. Any help or redirection would be appreciated, I already tried deleting my A.I. traffic and reinstalling, nothing. Hope this helps :) Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 3/7/2018 5:07:07 PM Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: BEN-PC Description: Faulting application name: Prepar3D.exe, version: 4.2.21.24048, time stamp: 0x5a7c832c Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.16299.248, time stamp: 0xeffc9126 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000002e3a0 Faulting process id: 0x385c Faulting application start time: 0x01d3b6605b6818c6 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 38374a1b-4b76-4ed8-a390-d6db081459c1 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2018-03-07T22:07:07.983818100Z" /> <EventRecordID>15477</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>BEN-PC</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>4.2.21.24048</Data> <Data>5a7c832c</Data> <Data>ntdll.dll</Data> <Data>10.0.16299.248</Data> <Data>effc9126</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>000000000002e3a0</Data> <Data>385c</Data> <Data>01d3b6605b6818c6</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Prepar3D.exe</Data> <Data>C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll</Data> <Data>38374a1b-4b76-4ed8-a390-d6db081459c1</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> </EventData> </Event> Thanks for any help, Ben Beaver Aviation Enthusiast and future pilot
  22. Hi all,so today I had one of the dreaded PMDG_737NGX_3.DLL CTDs that some of you experienced. I was on ILS approach to EDDT with some traffic around me flying on VATSIM with FSINN.I've read that this CTD is possibly related to some TCAS error in the 737NGX. Does anyone know if this can be avoided when leaving the TCAS system on the 737NGX on standby? This would be a pity because the TCAS works great, but if I can avoid a CTD with that I guess turning it off would be the way to go.Any ideas? Thanks
  23. For some reason, I suddenly started having CTDs (Crash to Desktop) during assorted FSX flight sessions. I thought I had discovered a cause - having Flight Sim Commander running weather as well as REX 2.0 OD doing real-time weather at the same time. However today, I had FSCommander off and it crashed. As a registered FSUIPC user, I naturally downloaded the latest DLL library and copied it to the FSUIPC folder. Unfortunately, that did not completely eliminate my CTD issue.Got a CTD this morning while I had FSX simulation speed running at 8x on PMDG 737ngx flight from Groton CT to JFK New York. I don't always use the speed-up function in FSX, but I was going to be unable to finish the flight if I ran it at "normal" speed. Bingo- I get the crash when I switched back down from 8x to normal sim rate.I am aware of the UIAutomationCore.DLL fix and had performed that long ago when I first installed FSX, so I knew the problem most-likely lay elsewhere, and having already updated FSUIPC - I had no clue what else to try, so I dug into the crash log to try to discover what modules were involved. Of course FSX itself was running, so it was listed int the crash log report - then another DLL was mentioned.I used the System Event Log to troubleshoot and locate the file that was involved in the crash, and the offender was shown (after googling it) to be a part of Microsoft's C++ runtime library files. So I then went to programs & features to look at the C++ runtimes that were installed, and discovered to my dismay that there several different 'versions' of C++ runtimes, and there were several different iterations (file dates) within those.Simply put, I believed there were WAY TOO MANY C++ runtime files - AFAIK you should only need 1 of each year for 2005/2008/2010. In theory, the 2010 version should be backward compatible with 2005 and 2008, possibly the system would operate with ONLY the 2010 runtime but I didn't take the chance. What I had prior to cleaning out the excess versions:C++ 2005 Runtimesx86 version << didn't think that belonged on a 64-bit version of Win 7 (removed)x64 versions (3 or 4 listed - picked the highest version number and removed all the older ones)x older version number (deleted) y older different version number (deleted)z newest version number (KEPT) x64C++ 2008 Runtimesx64 versions (3 or 4 listed - picked the highest version number and removed all the older ones) w older version (deleted) x older version (deleted) y older version (deleted)z newest version number (KEPT) x64C++ 2010 Runtimes (added by me) x64w current version (KEPT)Since I run Windows 7 --64 bit -- The proper C++ runtime libraries for me needed to be x64 NOT x86 (x86 is 32-bit) If you run 32-bit Windows or Vista, you would keep x86 versions NOT x64.So I found 1 instance of 32-bit C++ 2005 and removed it completely.I removed all but the latest (highest file number sequence) of Versions 2005 and 2008, and then I searched Microsoft and downloaded the 2010 version (x64) as well.So now I have only ONE version EACH of C++ 2005 / C++ 2008 and C++2010 on my system [All are x64]. (Looking at Programs and Features within Control Panel in Win7)I repeated the flight, and cautiously optimistic that the crash problem -- may -- possibly be gone. (It didn't crash again on the same flight plan running 8x sim speed)Elected to share this discovery with others here on Avsim.WARNING: If you're 'new' to PC's you may not have implemented a strong backup schema using a product like Acronis System Image or Windows 7 Built-in Backup. It's always wise to have a full system image (backup) of your machine BEFORE you make any changes (such as I am speaking of here).Of course once you do backups, you also need to know how to RESTORE your machine via those backups. Given the fact that hard disk drives are not bulletproof, you will greatly benefit from instituting a regular scheme designed to re-image your system to an external hard drive (e.g. USB External, eSata External or even in the cloud.Windows System Restore is not the same as restoring from backup - I'm sure there are tutorials on YouTube to cover this topic. Just want to caution everyone to backup their entire system prior to making changes. Worst case scenario: You make changes that later prove to either "not work as expected" or somehow cause problems ranging from low-grade to severe. That's when you pull your Rescue Boot CD out and plug in the external backup drive and "put everything back as it was".For those who already know this topic, I apologize. For those who didn't know about it - in the strongest possible terms it is suggested you undertake the backup advice....Hoping this works I will report back after further testing.Backup!

  25. Hello friends. Please, read carefully the report below, I hope to contribute something, or someone in similar situation maybe find a "mate problems." I'm not one of those virtual pilots who fly hours a day in front of the FSX. Unfortunately, personal and professional commitments allow me to fly only a few hours a week.So I don't believe that my story will help you find the solution to our problems. But it would reflect a little what I'm going through, and others can be. I have installed FSX as PMDG recommended, with updated drivers on a PC i5, 2600k, 4gb ram, nvidia 570gts. There is not THAT machine, but to date it has managed to fly like I wanted. I have a few addons, UT2, RC4, some freeware scenery, and PMDG airplanes, of course!!!!!!!!!!I run FSX on XP, because I got tired of the CTD and the stories of "put the automationcore here or there, or delete, etc. etc." in W7. And since I did it, never tried CTD again.Well, the day finally arrived, and the 737 NGX landed. I behaved like a child all day, waiting for the launch (and I've got 37 years!!!). I had no serious problem at the beginning, as some reported in this forum. My only problem was the freezing. Not having enough time to get testing and testing, I made short flights (KSEA-KPAE, KPAE-KSEA, KPAE-KBFI, SBGR-SBKP) just to feel the machine. And even in these short flights, quick flights, I experienced the freezing. Then came a hotfix (hotfix 1) and all improved. The freezing almost stopped. But I had to travel, and when I returned, 2 days ago, I saw that there was the hotfix 3. I installed, and regretted it. I have freezing on all flights, (those short flights cited up there), and I have CTD in some, while programming the FMC, before takeoff. In short, it was impossible to fly. I don't have much time to get testing, and I recognize that this is important. I simply make the adjustments requested by PMDG, even reduced some of the FSX settings, and when I find something valuable here in the forum, I try on my PC. But I, today, as "ordinary consumer", I am facing these problems. I'm returning to the hotfix 1. I believe that until we find more effective solutions to the problems, this is the best solution for me. This is not a criticism of PMDG. Quite the contrary. If the series 6 / 700 was launched today, I'd buy at the same time, even with all the problems we have faced in the series 8 / 900. Why? Because I have the MD11, the 747-400, the-8i, and I know the quality of PMDG products. These problems are transient, and although they are taking longer than we would like to spend, they will pass. In my opinion, there is no better company in this business. To all of you who spend hours a day trying to improve the NGX, I wish success .And my thanks for the effort. Excuse the grammar mistakes, English is not my native language. Best regardsCristiano Mueller
