I post this in case anyone else is experiencing the same CTDs. My rig, 13900, RTX4090, 64GB 5500 RAM. SU12 beta latest. P2A beta latest. FSUIPC latest. I typically fly VR - two FS Economy missions daily in 3rd party aircraft (not Asobo stock). My simconnect connections are complicated with a Buttkicker, Navigraph Charts, P2A, FS Realistic, FS Traffic, FS Economy and my VR rig - HP G2 with Windows Mixed Reality. I realize that there are a million possible combinations of these things that could cause a CTD. My CTDs typically happen after at least a half hour flying - around the time for the descent and approach. The actually CTD seems to have various triggers - touching the autopilot, changing my view suddenly, touching other controls in the cockpit - it varies. But the result is that the VR headset suddenly goes dark and a few seconds later MSFS disappears from my screen as well. However, I can still hear motors. Often I have to go into Steam to close MSFS or use the Task Manager to do it. This has been going on for several weeks and I complete about 1 out of 4 flights. I tried all kinds of combinations - running in Safe Mode (works fine but obviously no P2A with that). I eliminated Traffic, Charts, Buttkicker, etc. to see if I could find the cause. The Event Viewer variously blamed MSFS, FSUIPC, and P2A. It varied each time, but I began to suspect the FSUIPC combination. When I stopped using FSUIPC and P2A, I started having perfect flights. Not a single crash in days now with all of the complicated stuff running. I have used P2A for many years with no problems. I write this to see if anyone else is having a similar problem - which would prompt Dave to get involved. I dunno. Perhaps it is my complicated system, but what are you seeing?

Hi all,This is just for the record. System specs are at the bottom of this note. I've tried more than two dozen flights but *all* have frozen and CTD'd or just CTD'd. All but 3 of the flights followed the tutorial. Some CTDs were while on the ground, some during the takeoff roll, most in the air. All setup instructions from the Introduction that can be implemented have been implemented. As the PMDG MD-11, 747X, & J41 all work fine, I'm going to assume there is a PEBKAC and put the 737NGX aside for a while and watch this forum for a while. (Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair == PEBKC). Ok, I have had issues the past few days with my FSX freezing! I have done everything except re-install Windows (including using REVO to uninstall FSX and any add-ons). He is my computer specs:Velocity Micro Edge Z40Intel i7-2600K 3.40GHz8GB RamnVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPUWindows 7 64bitI want to assume that it has something to do with Radar Contact, but the freezes are extremely random, and will even occur if I do not have RC running. I have d/l and installed the updated UIAutomationCore.dllThis problem has only started occurring in the past couple of days. Only thing different that I have done in the past few days from previous flights is that I am now flying in Europe instead of the USA (is there a known issue with this? I couldn't locate any). Here are some of the event logs:///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////Log Name: ApplicationSource: Application HangDate: 11/1/2011 12:34:56 PMEvent ID: 1002Task Category: (101)Level: ErrorKeywords: ClassicUser: N/AComputer: FunComputerDescription:The program fsx.exe version 10.0.61637.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Hi allToday I'm appealing to your knowledge as I'm struggling to find a solution. The problems is that every helicopter, default or payware, turbine or piston are experiencing CTDs after some minutes of flying (2 or 10, practically random) and I don't know which the problem is. On the other hand I don't have problems with any other aircraft on FSX as they are working perfectly. I've tried to use FSX repair function but the problem persists. I hope I could find a solution. My specs: MoBo: Asus P5Q Pro|Processor: Intel E8500 OC 4.2 GHz|Memory: 4 GB Kingston HyperX 1066|BFG Nvidia 9800 GTX + O|SB X-Fi Xtreme Music|FSX Pro + Acc (SP all)|WIN7 64 Thanks Jcmmg

Hello friends. Please, read carefully the report below, I hope to contribute something, or someone in similar situation maybe find a "mate problems." I'm not one of those virtual pilots who fly hours a day in front of the FSX. Unfortunately, personal and professional commitments allow me to fly only a few hours a week.So I don't believe that my story will help you find the solution to our problems. But it would reflect a little what I'm going through, and others can be. I have installed FSX as PMDG recommended, with updated drivers on a PC i5, 2600k, 4gb ram, nvidia 570gts. There is not THAT machine, but to date it has managed to fly like I wanted. I have a few addons, UT2, RC4, some freeware scenery, and PMDG airplanes, of course!!!!!!!!!!I run FSX on XP, because I got tired of the CTD and the stories of "put the automationcore here or there, or delete, etc. etc." in W7. And since I did it, never tried CTD again.Well, the day finally arrived, and the 737 NGX landed. I behaved like a child all day, waiting for the launch (and I've got 37 years!!!). I had no serious problem at the beginning, as some reported in this forum. My only problem was the freezing. Not having enough time to get testing and testing, I made short flights (KSEA-KPAE, KPAE-KSEA, KPAE-KBFI, SBGR-SBKP) just to feel the machine. And even in these short flights, quick flights, I experienced the freezing. Then came a hotfix (hotfix 1) and all improved. The freezing almost stopped. But I had to travel, and when I returned, 2 days ago, I saw that there was the hotfix 3. I installed, and regretted it. I have freezing on all flights, (those short flights cited up there), and I have CTD in some, while programming the FMC, before takeoff. In short, it was impossible to fly. I don't have much time to get testing, and I recognize that this is important. I simply make the adjustments requested by PMDG, even reduced some of the FSX settings, and when I find something valuable here in the forum, I try on my PC. But I, today, as "ordinary consumer", I am facing these problems. I'm returning to the hotfix 1. I believe that until we find more effective solutions to the problems, this is the best solution for me. This is not a criticism of PMDG. Quite the contrary. If the series 6 / 700 was launched today, I'd buy at the same time, even with all the problems we have faced in the series 8 / 900. Why? Because I have the MD11, the 747-400, the-8i, and I know the quality of PMDG products. These problems are transient, and although they are taking longer than we would like to spend, they will pass. In my opinion, there is no better company in this business. To all of you who spend hours a day trying to improve the NGX, I wish success .And my thanks for the effort. Excuse the grammar mistakes, English is not my native language. Best regardsCristiano Mueller

Hi all,so today I had one of the dreaded PMDG_737NGX_3.DLL CTDs that some of you experienced. I was on ILS approach to EDDT with some traffic around me flying on VATSIM with FSINN.I've read that this CTD is possibly related to some TCAS error in the 737NGX. Does anyone know if this can be avoided when leaving the TCAS system on the 737NGX on standby? This would be a pity because the TCAS works great, but if I can avoid a CTD with that I guess turning it off would be the way to go.Any ideas? Thanks

For some reason, I suddenly started having CTDs (Crash to Desktop) during assorted FSX flight sessions. I thought I had discovered a cause - having Flight Sim Commander running weather as well as REX 2.0 OD doing real-time weather at the same time. However today, I had FSCommander off and it crashed. As a registered FSUIPC user, I naturally downloaded the latest DLL library and copied it to the FSUIPC folder. Unfortunately, that did not completely eliminate my CTD issue.Got a CTD this morning while I had FSX simulation speed running at 8x on PMDG 737ngx flight from Groton CT to JFK New York. I don't always use the speed-up function in FSX, but I was going to be unable to finish the flight if I ran it at "normal" speed. Bingo- I get the crash when I switched back down from 8x to normal sim rate.I am aware of the UIAutomationCore.DLL fix and had performed that long ago when I first installed FSX, so I knew the problem most-likely lay elsewhere, and having already updated FSUIPC - I had no clue what else to try, so I dug into the crash log to try to discover what modules were involved. Of course FSX itself was running, so it was listed int the crash log report - then another DLL was mentioned.I used the System Event Log to troubleshoot and locate the file that was involved in the crash, and the offender was shown (after googling it) to be a part of Microsoft's C++ runtime library files. So I then went to programs & features to look at the C++ runtimes that were installed, and discovered to my dismay that there several different 'versions' of C++ runtimes, and there were several different iterations (file dates) within those.Simply put, I believed there were WAY TOO MANY C++ runtime files - AFAIK you should only need 1 of each year for 2005/2008/2010. In theory, the 2010 version should be backward compatible with 2005 and 2008, possibly the system would operate with ONLY the 2010 runtime but I didn't take the chance. What I had prior to cleaning out the excess versions:C++ 2005 Runtimesx86 version << didn't think that belonged on a 64-bit version of Win 7 (removed)x64 versions (3 or 4 listed - picked the highest version number and removed all the older ones)x older version number (deleted) y older different version number (deleted)z newest version number (KEPT) x64C++ 2008 Runtimesx64 versions (3 or 4 listed - picked the highest version number and removed all the older ones) w older version (deleted) x older version (deleted) y older version (deleted)z newest version number (KEPT) x64C++ 2010 Runtimes (added by me) x64w current version (KEPT)Since I run Windows 7 --64 bit -- The proper C++ runtime libraries for me needed to be x64 NOT x86 (x86 is 32-bit) If you run 32-bit Windows or Vista, you would keep x86 versions NOT x64.So I found 1 instance of 32-bit C++ 2005 and removed it completely.I removed all but the latest (highest file number sequence) of Versions 2005 and 2008, and then I searched Microsoft and downloaded the 2010 version (x64) as well.So now I have only ONE version EACH of C++ 2005 / C++ 2008 and C++2010 on my system [All are x64]. (Looking at Programs and Features within Control Panel in Win7)I repeated the flight, and cautiously optimistic that the crash problem -- may -- possibly be gone. (It didn't crash again on the same flight plan running 8x sim speed)Elected to share this discovery with others here on Avsim.WARNING: If you're 'new' to PC's you may not have implemented a strong backup schema using a product like Acronis System Image or Windows 7 Built-in Backup. It's always wise to have a full system image (backup) of your machine BEFORE you make any changes (such as I am speaking of here).Of course once you do backups, you also need to know how to RESTORE your machine via those backups. Given the fact that hard disk drives are not bulletproof, you will greatly benefit from instituting a regular scheme designed to re-image your system to an external hard drive (e.g. USB External, eSata External or even in the cloud.Windows System Restore is not the same as restoring from backup - I'm sure there are tutorials on YouTube to cover this topic. Just want to caution everyone to backup their entire system prior to making changes. Worst case scenario: You make changes that later prove to either "not work as expected" or somehow cause problems ranging from low-grade to severe. That's when you pull your Rescue Boot CD out and plug in the external backup drive and "put everything back as it was".For those who already know this topic, I apologize. For those who didn't know about it - in the strongest possible terms it is suggested you undertake the backup advice....Hoping this works I will report back after further testing.Backup!

After a successful flght into Auckland (NZAA) last night I did my normal procedure - fired up the Drone Camera and zipped off over the landscape to take in the city and surrounding area (a way to introduce my self to new areas of the world). As I proceeded north of the airport everything suddenly froze and she crashed. This is the first CTD I've had in a months. Today, I loaded up a FP from NZAA to NZKT (Kaitaia) at the northern tip of New Zealand and took off. As I neared the same area as the Drone was in yesterday - CTD. Thinking it may have been one of those occasional no reason CTD's I restarted with the same FP and took off again - CTD. So - 3 CTDs in a row at or near the same location - north of NZAA and the accompanying neighborhoods of Auckland, As a last test I reset the FP using a SID that took me several miles to the east before turning north. Everything went well - no issues. Has anyone else experienced this issue just north of NZAA? Considering this happened 3X in the same spot (but not to the east) would suggest some kind of scenery conflict? (I am not using any custom scenery for this area).

Hi guys, for the past few days, I have not been able to get onto MSFS. After the checking for updates page, the screen goes black (however still shows the blue bar at the bottom) and then my game crashes to desktop. I have tried everything to fix it and was wondering what Nvidia driver I should downgrade to to try and get it working again. Also, any other tips would be appreciated. Cheers, ViperNB

Hi there, First of all many thanks to the whole PMDG team for the fantastic materialization of the 737NG into FSX.Its pure fun to fly and its depth exceeds my expectations by far with much more to come. However I struggle with a serious problem which occurs frequently and I cannot resolve it by myself so far. I am taking a short trip from KPDX to KSEA with the Southwest 737NGX-800WL. All preperations on the groundand takeoff always work fine without any problems. But after few minutes in the air I frequently encounter a CTD.I have the feeling that it happens when dealing with the autopilot knobs. Last time it happened whentrying to set VS rate for a decent. Suddently everything stopped and after few seconds...the uglyfsx.exe application crash screen. The details or the app crash are related to : - g3d.dll- LCID 1031 I have the following environment : Win7-64, 16GB RAM, i7-2600k, 4.7Ghz, Nvidia 560Ti, using FPS limiter, fresh install FSX+SP2+XP, REX2, FTX NA: CRM/NRM/PNW Anyone out there who has an idea what could be wrong and how to resolve it ?Followed the hints in the NGX introduction guide but it did not help. Also reinstalled the NGX liveries with the current ones.I am running out of ideas...Beside this it runs like a dream. Thanks for your help! Cheers,Jaro

Okay, I can't use the ticket system and haven't been able to all day. That means I couldn't report when my panel froze, and can't ticket this one either. I'll leave it here for now. I'll skip the extreme details unless otherwise needed. Recently approaching Aerosoft's LOWI I opted to deploy the speed brakes. I used the mouse wheel to deploy them but received a CTD about half way to flight detent. I'm using a Logitech MX mouse, which allows me the option to *extremely quickly* roll the mouse wheel, if that has any bearing. I was about 1 1/2 hours into a flight and then right-clicked FSX to bring up a menu to change views. Then subsequently FSX crashed and gave me the message A Fatel Error Occured FSX is restarting. I heard of the uiautomationcore.dll, but the ones I have used made no difference. I heard that core from http://forum.avsim.n...en-using-menus/ which is the 6.0.6001.18000 version is better than some others, but the download link is not working. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit-OS.
