  1. Not sure if I am teaching you to suck egss or not. But when you open the MS Store, click the Library icon (bottom left) this opens you Library. Then click Get Updates, top right. If any Apps need updating, Windows will do this for you. Especially the XBox app (that launches MSFS, and seems to get updated often). It's possible your trouble was due to an outdated App.
  2. Found this on the company website this morning. Thought you might be interested. AIRBUS are inviting creative talent to design a livery for the A350F. https//airbus.com/en/newsroom/events/a350f-join-the-airbus-livery-design-competition
  3. Would that be the “I Spy” series of booklets shipmate?
  4. @Stratocruiser1 - Make sure you are signed in to your Microsoft account. Then start MSFS. Then try your purchase. I think Marketplace needs to know your purchase method before proceeding .....
  5. Companies like Lenslab make optical inserts. You provide them with details from your optical prescription. They send you a set of custom fit lenses for your particular headset. These 'snap' on to the default lenses and can also be removed easily. I have a set in my G2. Work like a charm!
  6. To add to the VA bit. You can set VA up so that your Co-Pilot reply to your commands. You can set this up for replies. i.e. Set Flaps 10 or Flaps 10 or Flaps 10 set (you get the idea)!
  7. If you put some effort in there are ways to “interact” with the Virtual Cockpit. Point-CTRL (a fair few DCS VR’ists use this) There is a significant order delay as the person who puts this together is a “one man band”, and everyone wants one! https://pointctrl.com/ Voice Activated Commands You can set up any combination of keys/shortcuts/macros. For example, to save fumbling for your keyboard, you could set up a small (or large) profile to do the following. Set commands for “Go VR”, “Exit VR”, “Main Menu”, “Active Pause”, “Pause”, “Screenshot”. You can bring up all the Camera Views (internal & external). Set commands for “I have control”, “You have control (your fictional Co-Pilot”, “Set Flaps ……#”, “Gear Down/Up” - The possibilities are endless. If you keep an open Mic and don’t use a PTT. You could invest in a USB throat Mic that would stop VA picking up erroneous voice commands. Haptic Glove(s) Still in their infancy, and expensive! However, the Technology can only improve. Here is just one company working on FFB. Gives one an idea on their future capabilities. https://www.vrgluv.com/
  8. The Tobii is capable of 6DOF. However, Devs need to write this into the game. Just like TIR had no 6DOF in the early days. Star Citizen is the best example of 6DOF working, as the SC Devs worked with Tobii to get this next gen tracker into their game. People on the fence could do what IRS is doing. Order it from Amazon - Try it - Like it - Don't Like it - Return it.
  9. You would not pan around using your eyes, You would pan using your head. But, just like driving a car, you would scan your dashboard or look into the rear view mirror using your eyes. So, scanning the BFP and GPS you use your eyes. I also use the Tobii in games like Star Citizen & DCS. You would have to try it to see what I am trying to say.
  10. Yes. Follows your eyes as well as your head. Just like DX12 - It's the future.
  11. Try duckduckgo as your browser for AVSIM - No more Ads
  12. John Fields was not paying attention during SU5 Rob. MSFS installeld to the default C. Instead of the drive MSFS was installed to. There followed about 5 days of John trying to put things right - So I posted the screen shot to tell him to check this is correct before proceeding (otherwise, another week of messing about).
  13. FAO: John Fields John me hearty - during the patch install pay attention to where you are installing it! Make sure the path is correct at the this stage.
  14. I have a controller for all occasions. There is a bit of a dance swapping things about, but that’s the price of perfection. You can’t fly a Spitfire with a Yoke. You can’t steer a vehicle with a Joystick. Not all enabled at the same time obviously. Using a powered USB 3.0 Hub with individual switches. You can also fit extra USB ports via a spare PCI Slot on the Motherboard if required. Windows 10 (or 11) does not have a problem with any of them. I use DIView to calibrate Axis. I don’t know how far Windows lets you go. But so far, so good. The following are all connected via USB. · Power A Xbox (clone) controller · Logitech G13 · WinWing F/A-18 Throttle · WinWing F/A-18 Switch Panel · WinWing F/A-18 Joystick · WinWing Take Off Panel · WinWing Combat Ready Panel · TPR Rudders · SpitSim Spadegrip & Rudder Pedals · 3 x F16 MFD (as per the F/A-18 DDI Setup) · 3 x Cubesim screens behind the MFD’s · Stream Deck · Honeycomb Alpha · Honeycomb Bravo · Authentikit Spitfire Throttle / Rudder & Aileron Trimmers (this is just 1 x USB connection via the Authentikit Hub) (I have also printed off the Authentikit Spadegrip but prefer my SpitSim creation for flying Brit Spitfire or Hurricane). · word not allowedised Saitek Yoke (used for driving land vehicles in Star Citizen - this has added switches/rotaries via a Bodnar Board). · Komodo Simulation HU-1 Cyclic & Collective · If I connect my Hawker Hurricane Instrument panel, there is an extra Bodnar 0836X and 0836A · 2 x Saitek Pro Throttles (side by side). Used for the Wellington, Blenheim, Beaufighter in Cliffs of Dover. Mosquito in DCS. · Reverb G2 - via the Mobo USB C · Headset/Mic · 2 x Sabrent DS4-SSD Caddies (4 x SSD per Caddy) · 1 x iDsonix Single SSD Caddy - For all those SSD’s that don’t have a proper home, and are only used occasionally
