  1. I selected the cargo ramp at Southend airport (UK2000 demo) with an appropriately liveried plane which used to fly from there. Was this or is this the cargo ramp? A current chart doesn't seem to indicate this. Also note that this is the demo scenery from UK2000 so some structures may well be missing, but still, the old Connie looks rather cool IMHO.
  2. Must be the Navy version with beefed up undercarriage for carrier landings... I noticed it mentioned in the UK2000 EGLL documentation about the mirror system at a couple of the gates, so tried it out with a tiny plane LOL. A nice touch! Not an actual mirror of what's on the ground but still useful. Well done, Gary!
  3. I thought it prudent to beat up London City airport because... well you would wouldn't you? Then on to complete the mission! Pucara (Fortress) meets bridge.. well doesn't actually meet it as such because that would have been rather messy.. Mind you there is a "crash-test-dummy" sticker near the back of the canopy (the round black & whit symbol similar to the centre of a BMW badge..) which of course is rather fitting because I'm flying her today This is the only Ctrl-Ezy Pucara livery which allows the torpedo to be loaded. Don't worry:- I didn't launch the tin fish at HMS Belfast..
  4. Taxiing out to RWY09R at EGLL, bound for Prestwick.
  5. Getting ready at WG's main hub - Florida Southwest Regional. Cleared for takeoff RWY6 Lovely airport scenery, Latin VFR! FSX NOTAM - I wish Sky Sim could recreate the gear door animation problem and fix it... (sigh) Climbing out over Florida, the Gulf of Mexico is in the background. Feet wet over the Atlantic Passing by the coast of Ireland Vectors for RWY22 ILS Stansted Airport 70 tons of cargo safely on the ground. Taxiing in to Apron Z Shutdown.
  6. I've been busy today. The Seabee has been in the paint shop! I've got some of the basics for repainting down, such as changing an existing colour and placing stickers, but the more complex stuff eludes me such as designing a livery from scratch.. Hence my requests to AVSIM painters now and again So, here's G-PHIB. I realise the Shaggy & Scooby would love to take a flight, but at least the loud scheme will be noticed out on the water! Incidentally - I have absolutely no idea at all why that Airbus is taxiing out to 5L with the cargo doors still open!! "HEY, CHOCK! WHERE ARE YOU MATEY?" Enjoy!
  7. Now that Just Flight's VFR Real 3D Scotland is out, I have all the mainland UK in photoreal. Note that Prestwick & Edinburgh are the cut-down free versions, but I do have several of their payware airports! I decided to take a quick trip before my evening meal (you can see 17:51 on the clock - actual UK time during my flight). Not exactly the best weather for VFR across Scotland, but it got slightly better at Prestwick. The 114 is a pretty little GA 4 seater, and the view in the late sunshine was worthy of the £200 hamburger! 😉 Enjoy.
  8. In view of the recent "modification" to the port of Beirut a Western Global freighter was chartered to fly aid to Beirut. Departing from EGNX, bound for OLBA. Preparing for loading & fuelling. Ratcliffe on Soar power station in the background. Punching through the haze which had moved in. FSX NOTAM nope, no help for the lack of undercarriage door animations to date Approaching the French coast - no small boats in sight.. For the majority of the flight we'll be cruising at FL350, but climb up to FL400 when we're a bit lighter. Passing over the Swiss Alps. Venice is off to the left of the picture, the flight plan roughly follows the east coast of Italy. The heel of Italy.. About to overfly Cyprus. Beginning the descent to Lebanon. Being vectored to visual for RWY34. We were expecting some haze, but they could have turned the lights up a bit!! BUSTED! One of my better landings, but it was just in the displaced threshold... (sigh...) Oh well in for a penny - celebrated by wheelying quite a distance down 34 A bit of reverse idle in conjunction with the brakes one the nose was down and use the last turn off. Taxiing in down on side of the airport buildings... ...and up the other side to the cargo area! Time to let the ground services get busy. Enjoy🍻 FSX NOTAM - lovely freeware airport available in the library from Lebor Simulations. There is also some free photoreal Lebanon scenery but I hadn't downloaded it at the time of the flight
  9. My UK2000 airports are not showing with my other addons. I'm assuming it's something to do with a missing .bgl file which the other airports have. I'm guessing this is what LNM is looking for when adding airports from the custom scenery folder in MSFS. I might be wrong. My question is can I manually add them to this list of Addons somehow in LNM? Can I create the missing file myself? How do I get the missing airports to show up? Lots of questions as always. Thanks for your help in advance. PS: Flight simming with LNM over the past few years has been a dream. Thanks to the creator!
  10. I installed some new stuff today: Due to the time which Gary and Christopher spent on helping me to resolve my missing Doncaster Extreme buildings problem, not to mention their patience, I decided to increase my support for UK2000 and add to my collection by purchasing Belfast Extreme. Other developers also support the "dead" sims by putting out products even now, hence the DC Designs Concorde . I shall peruse the forum posts of the "Concorde Cognoscenti" for tips (in addition to giving the manual a once-over!) 🍻
  11. The mighty flying sea panda takes to the skies!! My rig does have some shortcomings - beautiful UK2000 scenery, plus UK Power project (numerous power stations & 46000 electricity pylons), plus loads of other airfields in the vicinity of London means the FPS was about 11 or so
  12. Well.. almost.. both at Liverpool... and 50 odd years apart. 8000 kg of ciggies, (actually 11000 kg !) over from Belfast during the dock strikes of 66. Wonder if they were Chesterfields? Eh, Mr. Godfrey....? http://www.airlinereporter.com/2012/02/the-story-of-the-ace-freighters-lockheed-constellation-that-tipped/
  13. I finally pulled the trigger on Rex 4 (Just Flight have it for £16.99) and carried out a flight in the SkyMaster to test it out. Seems I picked a nice day for GA in the UK - hardly any weather to speak of. Not so good for Rex as most of the METARS were CAVOK LOL, at least until I got close to Liverpool. I selected EGSS for Rex to generate a theme and off I went. AHA! A bit of low lying cloud, or fog.. NOW we have a cloud that shows me we are good to go - DX10 Fixer Cloud Shadows are working fine. ..and here we are, right downwind for RWY27 EGGP.
  14. Whilst some paintkits are beyond me as is drawing any new shapes on planes for some reason, I can manage to change existing colours and add text & stickers courtesy of DXTbmp and paint.net So, meet "Tiny Terror!" Just on a quick jolly from Liverpool to Blackpool All cleaned up and ready to fly up the Mersey Estuary out to the west coast, then on up to Blackpool. The wooded area above the horizontal stabilator with the caravan site to the right of it in the picture was a former airsoft site where I used to play. (Squirrel Woods at Formby) Approaching a left downwind for RWY28 Held her off for ages due to the length of the runway and touched down at about 70 mph! Enjoy.
  15. This is flightsim.. Libardo Guzman & Tom Gibson's C46 Commando on the cargo ramp at EGCC;
  16. It was a pleasant afternoon short haul to deliver some cargo from Stansted up to Manchester..
  17. UK2000 fans, head over to UK2K web site, Gary has released East Midlands Airport.
  18. Hi FolksSo, i was in my PSS/POSKY BA 777 merge, arriving into Heathrow XTREME V2 Terminal 5 ,and on the electronic docking system it came up with "747/A340"Is there any way i can get this fixed to come up with "777"Thanks Guys-AndyP.S i would ideally like to know before the release of the PMDG 777 ;)
  19. For those that already own EGLL or EGCC like me, Gary has updated the installers so that they can install in P3Dv4. I recommend that you head over to the UK2000 Forum and see if what you own is updated. He will not sell V4 until all sceneries are converted. I only found out because I went out and checked. I have loaded EGLL and EGCC not all of his usual features are there but it works and I find it good enough until the next upgrade cycle.
  20. A better trip! I may be getting a little more used to the quirks in the bird, not to mention my FSX setup (other post in the FSX forum..). Climbing like a homesick angel away from KJFK. In real life, Concorde and her crews were rather good at sticking it to the noise abatement crowd who really didn't want Concorde's roaring Olympus orchestra creating stillborn children or scaring cattle (or whatever..) - but due to her manoeuvrability she aced all the noise detectors in a climbing turn which loaded 747s struggled to match . I reckon it was sour grapes because Boeing's SST 2707 never got beyond a mock up, but that's just my opinion! The fact was she passed the noise detection. Note that the 2707 was indeed a wondrously amazing-looking behemoth with swing wings and a two-joint drooping nose. I had a model of one way back and I for one was a fan & would have loved to have seen it actually fly, had it worked as hoped! 🍻.. Sorry. I digress. Goodbye NYC. Subsonic climb to reach open ocean. I'll have to investigate the overspeed parameters.. Mach 2+ west to east. It gets dark even quicker, but a lovely view up here. I probably should have made a flight plan which routed me south of Ireland and then I would no doubt have decelerated towards the Bristol Channel.. I believe I may have disturbed the tranquillity of the Emerald Isle. I can just imaging Bishop Brennan castigating Father Ted, "CRILLEE!! What the feck and damnation was that noise?!! You didn't buy Father Dougal that chemistry set he's been after did you?" (totally made up scenario, but the Father Ted series was being broadcast when Concorde was still flying). Actually , not long after this shot was taken, the stock ATC gave me an initial descent.. Subsonic now and approaching the North Wales coastline. We're being vectored for an ILS approach to RWY23R. Somewhere above the nose in the picture is BAe Warton, Blackpool airport is the large, dark expanse above the tail. No shots of the runway from the cockpit, I was too busy juggling off the AP and AT - it wasn't pretty. I had her in NAV mode and whilst she did turn towards the localiser, I forgot to press ILS... (FSX NOTAM - I'm sure that at 3000 feet, one intercepts the glideslope from below.. however, the gauge was showing the arrow at the bottom of its travel. I think it had begun to move up the display... before I decided to go manual.) I landed long & with a ground effect bounce! Taxiing in, nose pointed at the Airport Hotel! I reckon I need a beer after that flight! Shutdown. SODE kind of works too! Cheers! 🍻
