  1. I have recently bought a Saitek X52. The variety of controls is amazing. One of the control wheels, what I call the E control wheel, is set to Elevator Trim. It makes it easier to set trim for takeoff, but when I set the autopilot and altitude hold, the plane continues to pitch up. I check on the elevator trim and it is stuck at 5 degrees. Anyone know how to fix this?
  2. Hola PMDG Afficiandos! I have strange problem that just began two weeks ago - I have Saitek X52 joystick and throttle, and the NGX A/T is 'disconnecting' after 3-5 seconds into my takeoff roll. And it just started doing this a couple of weeks ago - for 1 year+ I've had the NGX it had not been problem. I searched and serched the forums, and I found a few posts with similar issue. But, many times the poster had a very complicated joystick/throttle/yoke setup (2 throttles, etc.), so I don't know if the suggested solutions would even work. I tried anyway, but they did not work for me. Here is what I have tried so far: 1) reinstalling device driver for Saitek X52. No joy. 2) carefully trying ALL the different choices (permutations?) on the NGX setup pages as to AP, A/T, etc.. No joy. 3) read tutorial again and flew it EXACTLY as written - same issue crops up, no joy. 4) rebuilt fsx.cfg from scratch. No joy. Now, one solution often mentioned on these threads is to "calibrate joystick/throttle from WITHIN FSX." Ok. I go to that setup page within FSX, click on Controls, hit 'calibrate'...and it takes me immediately to the Saitek driver calibrate box. So I don't really know what I am supposed to do on the FSX Control/Joystick/Calibrate page. Many settings on that page I do not understand, such as "Null zones", "Axes", etc. But again, for over a year, I've had no issue with the throttle and A/T behavior, so I've never had to mess with that before. Do any of you kind amigis have a solution to this maddening problem? It's been a couple of weeks and it is driving me loco! Gracias! Jose Enrique Gaviota My system: OC'd i7-920 (3.8 Ghz), 6GB Ram, GeForce GTX250 1MB video card, Win 7 64 Ultimate.
  3. Hi all! please forgive my exasperate tone but I really am at a loss. This morning I run the windows calibration utility fo my saitek x52 and after that, for some reason the throttle has stopped working properly. It now gets stuck (sometimes straight away, sometimes after a couple of seconds) around 50% and doesn't respond to imputs (it moves slightly but then it resets to that awful 50%. It looks like something is defaulting the throttle to that position as I've tried assigning other axes to it and it still does the same. Works fine with keyboard. When calibrating through FSUipc the axis management sees the throttle but the calibration utility just keeps flickering in the range 250-350 (throttle range is something like -16000 to +16000). Not sure if it could be a problem with FSUIPC but cannot test because I am unsure on how to uninstall it (and if it is advisable due to so many programs using it) and was unable to do anything about it despite trying for 2 hours. Here's my (unresolving) trobleshooting so far: 1.tested the joystick on other platforms - works fine 2. updated the drivers - nothing happened 3.tried to map the throttle through FSUIPC - the axis management sees the range but the calibration just flickers between 250-350 3. tried mapping other axes to the throttle - same problem 4.tried deleting and re-generating FSX config file - same issue but joystick moved for the first 10 secs or so before reverting back to the described behaviour 5.tried disabling and re enabling the controller on pc - nothing happened 6. tried any possible combination of key/axes assignment on FSUIPC - nothing happened 7. tried disabling the saitek control panel and leave windows to "see" the throttle as a default one - nothing happened The problem, in my opinion seems to reside in either FSUIPC of FSX itsef (but having deleted the config, shouldn't it be resolved) In the hope that someone has some fresh idea, Thanks all! A very frustrated Matteo Capocefalo MED1473
