24Hz monitor refresh rate and 24 fps

Featured Replies

Hello, my NEC monitor is capable of 24Hz refresh rate. I set the target frame rate in p3d to 24. I changed Vertical syc to Adaptive in NVIDIA Control Panel and turned off 3x Buffering and VSYNC ingame following this thread:

 http://www.avsim.com/topic/444793-one-tweak-to-rule-them-all-how-to-set-affinity-mask-correctly/

Do you think I should turn on ingame refresh rate/tripple buffering instead and turn off Adaptive in nVidia control panel from the "theory" point of view?

My TitanX and 6700k system is pretty strong, but there's never enough with ORBX and stuff.

Thanks,

Dirk.

I have my 3 HD tv's at 24 Hrtz and P3D at Unlimited with VSync enabled...

why setting it at 24Hz then with unlimited?

Thanks,

Dirk

Just a curiosity question Dirk....why would you limit that system to 24 FPS? It's capable of much better than that.

24fps@24Hz: I guess you do not pan around in a virtual cockpit then. In my eyes, everything below 30 Hz is just not smooth when quickly panning around, especially using TrackIR.

I now use G-sync, but even then I only become not distracted from the panning jerkiness with fps/Hz >60.

Chris

Got it, and your tilted shooting makes me dizzy  ))

Doug, I'm still in the process of installing all the ORBX stuff, I'll have to fine tune the performance yet. I don't use TIR in airliners, instead I use about 40+ (it's max.) cockpit views with EZDOK under my fingertips on CH Throttle Pro and Fighterstick buttons and hats (100+ bindings in CHManager) arranged in a logical way. And I've had all of them TIR1-5, good for propellers. So in principle when flying without TIR I don't really need 30 fps, and I know that with complex sceneries I'll get less fps variations @24 fps. But I'll have to test and see yet.

Nice cockpit Gerard!

Thanks .

First I tried with 2 of my neighbours tilting the cockpit ...

That resulted in 2 X hernia..

Then we came up the idea just tilting the camera... LOL

Wowee!! Nize Flightdeck dude!

I wish that you would allow comments, and turn on your floodlighting so we could see more of your cockpit ...it looks absolutely wonderful!

Envious!
