June 1, 200323 yr Randy, you are right. I forgot to mention it on my post, I'm a real life (low hours) Commercial Pilot, and yeah, flight dynamics, system simulation and performance means A LOT to me too.As I said before, I like to recreate real life flights and procedures, and flying by the REAL numbers is very important.EDIT: I forgot the but :( . But, that doesn't mean that the panel shouldn't be more like the real one, especially at night. There are ways to make a visually realistic panel representation (take a look at SSW's A310).But as Vin just said, I'm really not worried, I know that PMDG is listening carefully to their clients.Carlos.
June 1, 200323 yr I'm one of those in between user. I don't have to have everything exactly like the real world because I have been there, but I do like the challenge of accurate FMC and navigational systems. So about now I wish PMDG a thorough going beta testing stage, but as an impatient buyer the screenshots make me want the product on the market as soon as possible. However after purchasing another company's Airbus recently, the great advances in simulation that it contains have been discounted by the lack of good documentation, which has driven me to uninstalling, and putting me back in the market, and ready for a really good 737. So PMDG I can live with some less than realistic night lighting in return for a thorough testing of all of the systems and the flight model,as well as complete documentation that includes a range of tutorials and test flights which the increasingly sophisticated and demanding flight simmer now requires to make the challenge demanding and exciting. Oh,as well it must be fully compatible with MSFS the Next.

Thank you!The manual for this airplane has yet to be written as it's author (ME!) has been extremely busy chasing down bugs in the systems model for the airplane.I expect to begin writing the manual this week during my 4 day trip starting monday. The manual will take upwards of 2-3 weeks to write (without tutorials) and will include all of the systems knowledge and performance information that you'll need to operate the airplane. In the past our manuals have won acclaim for their detail- but have confused newer or less experienced simmers because of their lack of "walk through exercises."We hope to remedy that this trip around. :-coolI'll keep you posted on the progress! June 1, 200323 yr My apologies if the post was not signed. I am registered as Macca22au and I appreciate your response. Walk through exercises are great to reinforce routines, and I agree that an add-on does not have to be explained as if the pilot is a raw beginner. It is all starting to sound really good, and I have my impatience under firm control.

June 2, 200323 yr Just to get it right,my name is Ian McPhail, and I am located in Australia. Now that's out of the way let me remind you that the maxim that you seem to have adopted, "A little learning ...etc" holds equally true for manners. Reflect on it.Ian McPhail

June 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member Ian-Thank you for adehering to the forum guidelines- just to be sure you don't feel that you were singled out- we require it of everyone present! Please don't be sore at Randy and the guys- they've watched me run through the forum and delete crops of messages that were unsigned- so it helps when the forum is self correcting... keeps me away from the delete key! :-coolI started that manual tonight, as promised- I'll keep you all posted on how it goes! June 3, 200323 yr Clayton: Gday, I'm in Brisbane too. Also I know a few of Virgin Blue's pilots, one of whom is a Training Captain. My email address is [email protected] McPhail
June 3, 200323 yr No offence taken. I am just old and grumpy. Get on with that manual and put us out of our misery. The walk throughs sound great, but is there any chance of getting some 3rd parties prepare a few tutorials? The Dreamfleet 737 is pretty good but each new add-on is a leap improved and takes often some time for famiiarisation and to get settled into a pattern of use. I am really looking forward to the -800 version. I almost wish it was first, rather than later in your production plan. I can get all the retro flying that I need with Cpt Sims 727 and Shupe's fantastic -7. Ian McPhail
June 3, 200323 yr Sorry for the OT - but G'day Ian, nice to see another Brisbane person around these forums (Aside from you Clayton ;)) :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
June 3, 200323 yr If I can be forgiven too, I know little about project opensky and my email address is on my response to Clayton. Would be glad to learn more. Ian McPhail
