Hi,We all know what is great about this aircraft, this post details a few problems I've found. The virtual cockpit has issues. I don't like how long it takes to draw detail. We are only talking perhaps a second or so, but it is certainly noticeable and detracts from looking at a different views. I was quite dissapointed with the overall look and feel of the virtual cockpit. Eaglesoft's Beechjet really has everything a virtual cockpit should have, so I guess I am a little bit spoilt. The lights have issues too. In the 2D cockpit, when looking rear left, you can see the lights 'floating' in mid-air. Also, if using the virtual cockpit, the lights do not sit right on the wing tip.I personally do not see the point of a virtual cabin (I stress this is a personal view). I can't see why work should be directed towards a part of the aircraft that really doesn't matter in flight sim (again, personal view).I do not like the fact that there are no true wing views. The engines are only partly rendered too. I guess I've been spoiled there with Ariane aircraft.I can't disengage the autpilot using my yoke as I can in every other aircraft. Surely there must be a key list somewhere so we can re-assign buttons etc?The spoilers have issues as well. They seem a little reluctant to deploy and I don't get a light to say they have deployed. The contact points for the main gear wheels seems to be a little bit out to me. The aircraft doesn't seem to compress with a heavy fuel load either.Perfomance is a little low. I am used to flying aircraft such as the Beechjet with no 'hit' at all. I believe my main flight sim PC to be of adequate specs as well (see below). I'm yet to try it on other PC's I own (pain because of the registration process).Overall, the aircraft is good. I believe it is a good 'base' to start from. However, I think there are some fundamental issues that should never have surfaced in public. Hi RichPoints well put, could`nt agree more that it needs some polish as well as a TCAS gauge sooner rather later.Overall it`s pretty good I just hope they follow through so it`s outstanding.

Thanks Ron. I forgot about the TCAS. It seems very odd that an aircraft such as this didn't come with TCAS. Even the Dreamfleet (which was updated 1.5 years ago) incorporated TCAS. Ariane added TCAS II to there panel more recently too. I sure hope we don't have to pay for a standard gauge. I can't believe a TCAS gauge can be 'that' special! It should be there now. Rich.

Hey Rich,Ailerons don't move in the virtual cabin either only spoilers. I also noticed (like you did) the engine rendering in the virtual cabin was only partly done. I guess they didn't realize that it's always nice to look over and see the engine blades spinning while in flight(Meljet 777). I hope they fix these things, but maybe I'm wishing too much...They need to animate that cabin door as well...

Randy,Yes, TCAS is special. It should have been included for use now for that very reason. What can be so 'SPECIAL' about it anyway? You see other aircraft and get an aural alert in a conflict situation. Isn't that pretty much the way it works? I really don't see what else TCAS is used for, except maybe as a tool for PMDG to charge more for a standard gauge.Rich.

Yeah I have the Ariane stand alone TCAS which isn't really a good match for this panel, but I may try and slam it in there until PMDG develops their's, which I'm sure will be better, and I hope doesn't run the tab up any higher!

So you don't see the point of the virtual cabin, but you want wing views? Does seeing the wing parts move matter to a pilot in a real NG? If the cabin doesn't matter to a pilot, why does sitting behind the wing looking at?Ryan

To clarify for you Ryan - since you obviously need it.You are able to see the wings (albeit partly) in a lot of aircraft from the cockpit. They don't magically dissapear when you climb into the front. My whole point about the cabin wasn't directed towards the wings or engines etc, and I think you know that. I meant seats and such. You don't need a cabin to enjoy wings views anyway. The degree of wing you choose to see from the cockpit it up to you. All I was after is a bit more realism with my views. I never said I wanted to see the 'wing parts move' as you put it. Just something you could see when looking out of a cockpit window. The conflict exists elsewhere.Rich.

"What can be so 'SPECIAL' about it anyway?"Well it's not so much that the operation or system integration is that special, but the mathematical algorithms which are integrated into it. Just how do you know when a conflict situation exists? There are a lot of parameters that go into a TA/RA computation and even in real life it took hell of a long time to make TCAS what it is today. Even things as the aircraft's performance and max crz altitude play a role when the two aircraft's TCAS perform the appropriate resolution.Regards,Mark

I have been using the Ultimate Traffic TCAS with this plane. They seem to be a good match for the time being until the next release comes out....Good Day.http://www.clearedasfiled.com/images/simpics/cirrus.jpgwww.flightfactory-simulations.comHomepage at www.clearedasfiled.com!

LOLYou can lead em to water but you can`t make em drink Rich.;)In other words spincity.FanxRon

Chris / Jay - yep, I will resort to using either of those products. I'm not really convinced Mark. I realise there is a lots of maths involved with TCAS. I know how they operate. However, even a simple TCAS wasn't integrated. Ariane integrated TCAS II in their panel and that is something I would have liked to see in the PMDG aircraft. Not too much to ask really..maths aside.2+2=4 gimme

I have the Ariane panel with TCAS II. I'd rather have a panel of the quality of this latest PMDG offering without TCAS than some more Ariane-like low quality klugeware with TCAS.But one thing did seriously detract--PMDG's activation mess. It was a real hassle, and negated much of the good first impression I otherwise had. It had the same effect as a steak dinner served with a garnish of 3-day old sardines. What's worse is knowing that someone went to a lot of trouble to put those sardines there...Bob

Hey Bob - you have a interesting way of putting things. I agree with you.I would rather have the PMDG panel than the Ariane one - only after the issues are sorted though. If I talked about the Ariane TCAS II - I mean the gauge they released seperately rather than the whole panel. Those sardines are getting worse.Rich.
