December 15, 200322 yr Imagine if you will- everybody with the 737 trying to hit the download server all at once.I can be patient. It'll be there in 3 days or a week. whenever I get into the queue :)Thanks Rob and team. I'm really looking forward to seeing SU2 on my PC, especailly the new VC and the performance gains.Tim
December 15, 200322 yr I'll go one better... The server appears to have stopped playing altogether again: IE has stopped reporting too many users and started reporting no site whatsoever.I really do loathe jumping on a bandwagon and have nothing against PMDG at all, but I'm definately on the less-than-impressed side of the room. :-(Ian P.
December 15, 200322 yr Noticed that Ian (re the server)I have left the room altogether and am now throwing virtual pebbles at the windows....What a waste of time!
December 15, 200322 yr Personally I wouldn't mind spending say $10-15 instead of all this waiting, first for the patch to get finished and now when it finally is released...continue waiting just to be able to download it. Someone else already said it and I tend to agree - this is all starting to take the shape of a big farce.Maybe the main problem here is that PMDG should draw a clear line between a patch to correct problems with a product you already paid for and new added functionality. If they had only done just that - fixed the problems I'm sure the patch would have been out long time ago and of course a patch to correct problems with a product you already paid for should be free. Then they could have released a new upgraded version with added functionality and new systems at a reasonable upgrade fee for those who want that.Mixing a patch with an upgrade...I don't think that's very wise nor professional. And why are they doing that...? Well, probably because they are kids just like the rest of us who loves everything that has to do with flight simulation ;-) and not a professional software development company. Because honestly, what such company would let their customers wait like we all did for this patch with hardly no info what so ever until the very near end and then let us continue waiting because they don't have enough server power to distribute the patch to us...?Cheers,Richard
December 15, 200322 yr Hey PMDG,Mirros should be the solution for this problem. And besides, the fact that the file is Password and Order Confirmation Number protected, should enable you to post the file in any flightsim website (for the convenience of all of us Paying Customers), and with ease of mind. After spending more than 40 hours trying, i'm ready for a refund! But no! I will persist and try-and-try- again....and again...PMDG, have a heart. Make it easy us, your customers. The odds of some non-paying-customer de-crypting the Password and Order Conf. number file, are 2,000,000,000 to 1. Nobody can! Please link to some mirror sites. Obviously, your website is not enough! Thanks again for your great 737, but please, make it available and real.My wife is starting to doubt whether I'm trying to link to PMDG or some porno site!AlexisYanesFlorida
December 15, 200322 yr Marcelo!Es Alex. Como te va?Estoy frustrado! Espero que tengas mejor suerte que yo.Saludos a todos por alla, incluyendo a Raul.Capt Sim 727 es bueno. No? Sin tanta berga!!!Alex
December 15, 200322 yr Hi,No I don't think they really can offer more mirrors with "all" the money they made. You have to remember that there are NINE people on the PMDG team, and software like this isn't developed for free. With margins like I'm pretty sure they're seeing, the price would HAVE to go up probably on a per mirror basis, and how many would we need in order to all download at the same time?I think PMDG is doing all they can to get products and patches to us at a reasonable price point. In fact probably TOO reasonable of a price point, even considering that it is the most pricey add-on yet for FS. :) Just relax and I'm sure we'll both get our SU2's within a few days. :)-Shaun
