December 15, 200322 yr >To me this says 1 thing! They sold thousands and thousands>737's.>Now each aircraft sold for $39USD this = alot of $$$$$$. Now>they cant support us with mirrors? >Pure speculation that is not very friendly, a little bit rude and probably doesn't reflect reality.A lot of guys behave like if FS editors were Cisco, Oracle or MS.Apart from the size, there is another HUDGE difference, MS and the others make you pay for each upgrade, not PMDG so the only thing we can honestly say is "thank you".C'mon, give this team few more days. December 15, 200322 yr Why is it when people get Bad customer service in the flightsim world, most kiss the developers bum? OrThey have no back bone?I've got every right to complain! I paid for this product? The server they have running is not up to the high standards of the work! This reflects badly on there otherwise excellent work!I can deal with up to 24hrs but not days and days and days!Thats what the joke is! and thats why I am mad!Pete
December 15, 200322 yr >1] It does not matter if you have a legal copy, SU2 is not a>*patch* but a fully working version, IF you download off of>stealdonkey or any other peer to peer program you could be in>big trouble even if you own the original file. I don't>think you have thousands of dollars for a patch do you? Under UK and European law it wouldn't matter if you found it in a dustbin, as long as you had bought the license. Nonsense distribution clauses tend to get kicked into touch, ask Microsoft. The only benefit is that by downloading from PMDG, you are assured that the files are genuine, don't have viruses etc. I do have thousands of dollars( only about$50 in cash though ). It is very silly posting legal presumptions, that I know vary from state to state inside the US, and outside the US you are in no - mans land. Some countries you must have sold to hardly have copyright laws, in fact in some areas it might be argued that the owner has some legal obligation to share it with his neighbours. Chasing copyright can cost more than you can ever dream of making, even MS give it up in some places, beleive me - I've tried it.Dudley Brooke
December 15, 200322 yr You guys really awaze me with your never-ending loyalty against PMDG, I wonder what it would take to have you say even the slightest little bad thing about your big heroes...;-)And PMDG (and Mr 'Crym' ;-)) - no offense, you've developed a great a/c add-on already and I'm looking forward to another message than the HTTP 403.9 one so I can finally download the update! But...when it comes to customer relations and how to handle them I think you have a few more steps to go. When you're a commercial company with a product reaching the popularity 737NG has, it simply doesn't suffice beeing "buddies" with X % of your customers and hope that the rest of your customers will continue accepting all your decisions like this one. But then again - of couse it's all up to you how to handle things...Best regards,Richard
December 15, 200322 yr I am afraid I have to agree with Richard no matter how much I respect this little company called PMDG which churns out nothing but first class air planes. Unfortunately, it fell victim to its own success. Like Richard said, there is a lot of room for customer relationship when it comes to deployment of products. Peple simply dont like to wait for days.SO far, I have not received my e-mail. But I am not worried as I have the original. I am not upset either. I dont know when I can get my turn at the airplane. I have tired whole night, and it kept saying "too many people at this site". That's all right, I reckon I should have the plane by Christmas. I can wait. In fact, I have quite a few things to attend to this week.Michael TanCanberra AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Nvideo 970 GTX FSX + MegaScenery
December 15, 200322 yr It has nothing to do with kissing developer's behinds. It has to do with living in a real world. You payed 39.95 for your 737, sofar you got a patch to fix problems and now you're getting another patch which includes major updates to the entire aircraft and it's systems.PDMG made this new patch, which is really way more than just a patch, as a service to us and not because they were forced to.What would you rather have...that they'd let you pay because this update took them this much work?Or the default 'sorry, you bought this product now go away' attitude, like with for example FS2004 itself in which there are more than enough bugs but which never gets patched at all.If they wanted to they could have released just a small bug removal patch while keeping all the new good stuff in this update back for their upcoming product. How would you feel if you and a team of testers worked their butt off for months, and get an attitude like yours in return.I say they'd might consider not doing something like this ever again. The fact that you're getting all that work and effort in the form of a large update which you don't have to pay for is great customer service in my book.I have been kicked out of beta teams for being a pain in the behind so i'm far from a bum kisser but when i see people with an attitude like yours it just annoys me enough to actually bother registering and posting a reply.>Why is it when people get Bad customer service in the>flightsim world, most kiss the developers bum? >Or>They have no back bone?>Pete
December 15, 200322 yr The lack of a mirror is really unacceptable. I know you use an ASP script to authenticate before linking to the real file, but this does not exclude the possibility of a mirror!I've been on the net, downloading products for almost 10 years now and really can't remember anything like this. Surely this isn't the first product that is in high demand?Keep up the communication and we'll all get through this OK.I just hope all your customers know about this forum!Patrick
December 15, 200322 yr >You payed 39.95 for your 737, sofar you got a patch to fix>problems and now you're getting another patch which includes>major updates to the entire aircraft and it's systems.>PDMG made this new patch, which is really way more than just a>patch, as a service to us and not because they were forced>to.Once again, presumption, this is presuming at what stage the customer has bought the product. There are people posting now, who have only just purchased 2.0 (God knows how they got on the Web Page), so unless PMDG have slipped SU2.1 or SU3.0 in under the radar. These people haven't seen a patch. I bought 1.0 a couple of weeks ago, I didn't realise there was a patch to 1.1 so didn't install the patch and was unable to fly, by the time I posted here to query the problem, it was too late to get the patch. So I am still waiting to fly - well I have flown it manually, but the FMC and autopilot wouldn't play. So for our $39.95 we have seen not a lot yet, and have the only the word of those posting on here about how good it is, and people elsewhere. BestDudley Brooke
December 15, 200322 yr come on guysim try to download for the last 36 hours.my car, my kiddys and my wife are clean nowany hints for the next 36 hours waiting????Peter
December 15, 200322 yr Hi!Any possibility in using mirrors? This is becoming quite annoying and have been trying for 26 hours, without success. Please?Regards, Marcelo W. Santiago, ChilePosted on Monday, Dec. 15, 08:30am EDT
December 15, 200322 yr Ok ok ok, i GIVE UP ! I'll not lose my time trying to get this patch ! I think that untill wednesday "it's not possible" get it... I've never seen this before ! A MIRROR WOULD BE NICE PMDG ! >(
December 15, 200322 yr Not a very good performance but what does it matter? You lot are all still trying to get the file and either way PMDG still get there money.Telling them they have poor customer relations is not a good idea as they are always in the forums helping people with there problems and saying things will be updated e.t.c..Just have patience, you paid for a product and were guarenteed no updates at all so just way to get it will you! Go out do something else it really isn't that important!
December 15, 200322 yr Hmm, could go into one aout personal oppinion but I wont as this is supposed to be a SERVER UPDATE NOTAM thread and so far I havnt see a satisfactory HEALTH CHECK only verbal. How about an ETA how about a % done to % remainging. How about anything that will give an idea as to how long we still have to wait. Even a server update might help.I think the quote of the day has to be from Cpt Robert S. Randazzo with his "it might take you a few tries or more...."Har HarMerry ChristmasNigel
