PMDG 737-800/900 Updates in Final Beta

Featured Replies

Ok I just tested and here are my findings;1] Brakes set warning horn with throttle advance.Without brakes set no horn2] Spoilers manually moved to arm on groundWarning horn sounds.Manually moving spoilers to DOWN DET no warning horn with throttle advancement.3] Hit "/" on ground then pushed "SHIFT /" did NOT set spoilers back to prior position and do get warning horn. This SHIFT / for prior level position appears to work only in the AIR.Conclusion: I can do whatever I desire with the speedbrakes on the ground prior to TO without a warning horn IF I manually place the spolier lever ALL THE WAY UP, not just to where the green light goes out.It is also true that I am running a version that you guys are not BUT I the listed fixed items contain no spolier logic being touched-tuned-modified whatsoever from the version the general publicBest Wishes,
Randy J. No they are not, this is not at all possible, in fact since the updated VCs have different items than the orginal 600-700 aircraft that only belong to the 800-900 series release...Best Wishes,
Randy J. So does thing mean that the spoilers can be armed with Shift / after the update is released and we'll be able to lower them once on the ground? My only complaint with the plane right now is that I can't arm it with Shift / and I have a real hard time getting the spoilers to lower on the ground after landing. The mouse just causes the lever to go up and back down and the keyboard does nothing when I land. It's pretty aggravating.

No I did not mean to give the wrong idea here. There is nothing changed in regards to the spolier logic that I am aware of. What if any plans future wise with spolier logic I just don't know. As to your question, all you need to do IF they do not autodeploy upon landing is to hit "/". "SHIFT /" only matters say if you had "armed" the spolies for approach and had to use the spoilers to slow prior to landing you simply hit "/" THEN to bring them right back into the prior position (in this example they were ARMED) push "SHIFT /" place them into the prior positition..Best Wishes,
Randy J. I won't hesitate to pay for it, if released as next upgrade to 737NG.

Any possibility of adding more airlines to the styles menu? There are airlines, such as Korean Air, where I have to guess the cockpit style because they are not listed. Thanks, and keep up the great work!Luis

Hey Luis, I think that this is possible to manually edit and add your own, just going on memory but I seem to recall this discussion. If you look in the main PMDG folder locate the "737Airlines" TEXT FILE, the first entry looks like this(AIR EUROPA)Engine=CFMI CFM56-7B26EFISMap=1EICASSide=1FDVBar=0AOA=0Lbs=0 This Air Europa has the same cockpit style as SWA. The West Jet looks like this[WESTJET AIRLINES]Engine=CFMI CFM56-7BEFISMap=0EICASSide=0FDVBar=0AOA=0Lbs=1 Now I would make a backup before messing with this file and see if it works, HOPEFULLY this is ok otherwise Lefteris can put me in my place ;-) Best Wishes,
Randy J. What if any plans future wise with spolier logic I>just don't know.>> As to your question, all you need to do IF they do not>autodeploy upon landing is to hit "/". b]I am so lucky to be one of those that already use the beta patch.Due to experiencing radio freeze after the interim update. And even tho the list of fixes dont mention anything about any spoiler related things were changed or fixed, i have not been able to do just 1 landing, without spoilers deploy, since i got the update. Before the update i had the similar problems with spoilers as many other people in here. Now ,as long as the green light is on the spoilers will deploy. And thanks for that.Since ive got the patch i've beeen flying lots and lots of hours, and i cannot trigger a radio freeze either..So im happy with the patch.

Thanks!

Just wanna add to my post above, that even with the throttle on the joystick at more than half ,and autothrottle enabled, the spoilers **will** now deploy at touchdown. So no one will be able to convince me that no changes has been made in the speedbrake/spoiler area, even tho they are not mentioned in the fixlist.:-sun1PS: Still no radiofreezes .

Vin,I assume that PMDG Options Module Version 1.03 (Service Update 3) dated 14 Jan 2004 ....found under PMDG /(About).. is the same as (Service Update 1.3) ...Is this a correct assumption? If so, why wasn't it listed as Module Version 1.3 instead of 1.03 in the very beginning?Regards,Jack

Will the patch include a clickspot for the lower EICAS access?Thx

There is already a click spot for the lower EICAS.Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith

P M D G's 747-400

coming to a runway near you
Caution! Hi PMDG,Just out of curiousity, what exactly does the word 'final' in the subject line imply...?

I believe it means it's the last beta test before the actual patch is released.
