Captains-With the unveiling of the new PMDG eCommerce site, we have also made available delivery slots for the limited edition PMDG 747-400 1/144th scale Executive Display Models that we are having produced in partnership with Pacific Miniatures.These models are being produced by one of the world's most recognized producers of Executive Display Models, and we are proud to affiliate ourselves with a company that is held in such high regard by industry giants Boeing, Airbus and many of the worlds leading airlines.As this is the first such offering for PMDG, we have posted special pricing on the 1/144th scale 747-400 models.The airplanes are currently in production, and we have received assurance from Pacific Miniatures that they will ship to arrive at your house in time for Christmas!In addition to special pricing we will be awarding 25 PMDG REWARD DOLLARS to the customer account of every customer that purchases one of these beautiful aircraft. Good news.But i want to make a point here:sometime ago you said that you were looking around to find options for more "reasonably priced" models as the previous was surely nonsensely priced.Now my idea of "resonably priced" is evidently different than yours, but i do not make a problem out of this.My point is that, should you find another kind of agreement with the same or another manufacturer, for a humanly priced model, i (and i think many many others) would be in for buying it.While surely less then before, the actual pricing strategy is way above not only my abilities but even my conceptions.My suggestion is you find (if you want) another way of offering your custom models, in a less expansive lineup.And maybe offering 737s would be a good idea too :)My 2 cents

Claudio-The content in your post leads me to believe that you are assuming I am not very knowledgeable.....I have looked at many various work samples while selecting the company that would eventually produce this prduct for PMDG. Finding a cheaper manufacturer is not hard... Finding one that can produce a quality product at any price is much harder.The style of model that is being offered is extremely high in quality. That quality is reflected in the price.We have ordered only a very limited quantity of these models and it should not be long before they are all spoken for... I'm sure that they quality and finish of the airplane will not disappoint!During my management career at United I received two of these airplanes as recognition for various accomplishments- and they are some of my most prized displays here in my office!So, Claudio- price is only one factor that was considered in a much larger picture!

Bo-Based upon suggestions from PACMIN, the airplanes will only be shipped via FedEx or UPS. (The US Postal Service apparently has a bad record of damage even though the airplanes are packed EXTREMELY well for shipping...)We are working to find another shipper, possibly DHL...In order to give you plenty of choice!Shipping charges will be displayed to you during the purchase and you will be able to select the shipping method you desire.YOur credit card will be charged at the time of purchase in order to ensure that your order is placed and can be shipped immediately upon completion with confidence....

I for one was happy with the price and was willing to cough up my hard earned cash until I hit the shipping estimated costs which unfortunately, pushed it beyond my price range. Maybe this will restrict a few o/s purchases. Pity you can't download it ;)

Too bad they don't offer a version with the gear and flaps down. That would really be spectaular in a model like this (though no doubt more expensive).Andrew

Robert,Haven't gotten any emails or heard any news on this little baby yet. Is there anything new yet, or are we still in a holding pattern waiting for the remaining models to sell out?
