February 17, 200620 yr Dear PMDG,As an avid fan of the QOTS I was looking forward to the 744F enhancement. That is until I found out about what happens to you when you start hauling freight. Strange things happen to a man when he stops flying people and starts hauling boxes around the world. So I urge all PMDG enthusiasts to inform themselves of the possible consequences of becoming a "freight dog." After all, you really wouldn't want to end up like this guy, now would you? http://tinyurl.com/db6pw (WARNING: video with mild profanity and one insane DC-8 captain)Friends don't let friends haul freight. :( :( :(Cheers!-Lee Barberhttp://home.nc.rr.com/uniuniunium/dvasig.jpg Lee Barber - Rochester, NY PPL-G

February 17, 200620 yr My guess is that it's either a landing technique on the DC8, or it was because they were landing on a 6000' strip, and it requires you to firmly land the aircraft to the very end of the runway. No style points given there.Tero PPL(A)
February 17, 200620 yr Hi,thx for the great video... here is a pic of the aircraft featured.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0998340/M/ Rapha
February 17, 200620 yr I always cut the throttles at 100 agl. In fact, a controller at LOWW remarked yesterday he had never seen a 744 stop that short. The key is soft as a feather and cutting the throttles will do it every time. No need in overworking the reversers and brakes.>> lol notice that he cut throttles around 100RA, could be he>was a bit high and fast?>>>...............Randy J. February 26, 200620 yr In a land were air travel is rather dense, this example of the sheer lunacy of someone that managed somehow to become an airline captain rather takes away the skills of his colleagues? It also takes the American 'Laid back' attitude to new heights. As for the toilet, sort of sums up the whole airline really? This video should never have been made available. What an eye opener?Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
