PIC on VATSIM - PAR Screenshots

Featured Replies

What a fantastic job by Mike Gloude on the PAR approach. Thanks particularly to Mike Langhan for getting the ATC all lined up in Edmonton Center and also thanks to the entire Edmonton Staff. And to Phil Elchitz, a special thank you for covering Vancouver Center for us today.I have included a screenshot of Servinfo showing all who joined us today. A rear view shot departing Edmonton is first followed by landing shots at Cold Lake. For the landing shots, I positioned my tower view just off the approach course for Rwy 31R. This was my first PIC flyin and one of the best times I have ever had on VATSIM. The controllers & coverage were fantastic! The scenery was great & lots of fellow PICers!I particularly enjoyed the PAR approach!!... and I even got my picture taken!!!Thanks to everyone!!

Mike,Great shots my friend.I can't even begin to explain how much fun I had.Actually using some foresight here I picked up a screen shot utility this week and had it running all day.Managed to fire off 58 screen shots during the day - no clue if anything I got was good - but they will all be posted here once I crop them. There were a lot of familiar faces - and many people whose names I do not recognize. Great representation from different parts of the world as well which was nice to see. I seemed to be following AAL220 all day, who for some reason had just about every controller fumble his callsign (for what reason I do not know). As soon as I get my aircraft up out of YOD and headed back to the west coast I will start on the screenshots...Ian Elchitz CYWGACA301

The planning that went in to this event was excellent, and charts, routes and scenery were very good. Congratulations to the ATC team at Cranbrook, Calgary, Edmonton and Cold Lake. They did a superb job, with many arrivals and departures, and were very patient with all.I was feeling very cocky as everything had gone particlarly well on all legs up to the PAR approach. :-cool This PAR was great fun, even if the Qantas ground crew had some grass and mud to get off the undercarriage !! I think maybe this 767 captain was suffering from the 4:00 am Melbourne time start! :+ Thanks again to all involved for a great lot of funCheersIan(QF007)

Nice shots, Mike. Too bad I couldn't make the run to Cold Lake.It looks like Mr. Descending Nicely is, well, descending nicely. :-)Lee Hetherington (KBOS)

WOW!!! No words can describe that approach! I had to sit there on the taxiway to catch my breath. I changed my WX settings to 200 across the board, but I didnt count on the wind to be gusting that much. When I saw the rwy, I couldnt believe I made it. I was a little left, but once I slid over to the rwy, I touched down with plenty room to spare. Someone told me I was the first to make it on the first pass? I couldnt believe it. I got held up in CYYC and I thought I was near the back of the pack. I figured everyone would have made it before me with one shot. This also my first PIC event, Thank you guys for putting this together, I can't wait till the next one. And to the ATC guys, you did an awesome job, I'll be flying back to canada very, very soon! Thanks,Bryan CruseDAL311Oh yeah, good idea Fabio. Here's my face with a name. (And my second love next to flying,.....fast cars!)

Hello Ian.AAL220 was me, Fabio Miguez. I also don't understand why controllers had problems with my callsign, but it made a smile on my face everytime!I only leaded you out of Calgary because you were kind enough to let me get clearance in front of you. Thank you very much. The PAR approach was unbelievable, I had never shot one, not even in real life, where I have done non-precision radar approaches. But nothing gets close to this!Anyways, I am attaching a picture of myself just so you can put a face to the name, and because I should be participating in every PIC on VATSIM in the future. Thanks everyone for making this such an outstanding weekend.

Hi guy

hey that sounded like funwell i was in bed in deep sleep at that time it would have been 3am local herei would like to join incan i join in with the PICA320 when it comes out?

Follow the link below to check out the 35 screen shots I snapped during the event.I used a smaller file size and lower resolution than normal for these shots - so do not be suprised of they are not crystal clear. There were so manh people - so mostly these shots are of the ones who were in front and behind me most of the day.http://www.eleventhstreet.com/pic/1.htmEnjoy!
