New 767

We are working on an update of the 767 that will contain some new features. The exact details are subject to change, but some of the new features will probably include:Addition of winds in FMC.Modelling of most or all special waypoint types in procedures.Improved CRT displays.Networked panel components such as CRTs.Dual CDUs.An SDK that will allow 3rd party programs to interface directly with the sim.Other things. At this time there is no plan for a new visual aircraft model or VC. Those are both possibilities but not decided and not currently being worked on. As you know we are most interested in functionality and completeness of simulation, so that is where our efforts will go, rather than into eye-candy. It will be released as a standalone package, ie. you will not need to own PIC to use it. The networked components will likely be sold seperately. It will not be called "767 Pilot in Command" because that name is owned by WILCO.The release date and method is undetermined. Any speculation by me or anyone else on the release date would be pointless and probably misleading. These things happen in their own time. A word to the wise, take the reports you have heard recently with a grain of salt. Nothing is cast in stone, everything is subject to change. More info when it's time.Regards,Wade

Wade,One quick thing - can you say if you'll be including 757 support in the FMC and flight dynamics areas? That would probably be my number one request to you guys for the new version...Thanks again!RyanPS - Is PONSKY gonna give us a 767v4 with VC (integrating the PIC2 gauges of course) to use with this??? At this time there is no plan for a new visual aircraft model or VC I noticed that you made no mention of the 2D cockpit. Will this contain a newly created panel at least?[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Super news!Thank you for the info Wade!As for the visuals... Just make a good panel like you (all) did in the original version, and the visuals can be found elsewhere... ;-)I especially like the SDK... FSBUS control over the panel without the use of keyboard/mouse!Thanks again!George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
