January 10, 200521 yr Can you comment on the (approximate) size of the file of the final product?Regards, Marcelo Santiago, Chile. Posted on Momday, Jan. 10, 10:50am EDT
January 10, 200521 yr Who says it will be downloadable? The newly released manual states that the manual will ship with the product, so perhaps this is will be a boxed version only.Mark. Mark CYYZ
January 10, 200521 yr I cant think of any reason it would not be available for download, Flight1 is the publisher, that should speak for it self, they are simply the best on the market with products for download and costumer service is top notch.OHN
January 10, 200521 yr Well Mark, you can ship the manual in .pdf format with a downloadable product... like all companies are doing. ;-)Regardshttp://cablemodem.fibertel.com.ar/tazcue/dvafs.jpg
January 10, 200521 yr Commercial Member "ship" actually means ship via download. It is used figuratively. It will be available by download. Hopefully at around 150MB. About 6.5 hours via a modem, and of course much faster by Broadband. It will be optionally available throught the Flight1 Downloader Tool to automate and verify the process.Steve Thanks, Steve Halpern Flight One Software
January 10, 200521 yr this is tough. I want the boxed edition (it will come in a boxed version I think?) but have no idea how I'll survive the wait after the download version comes out
January 11, 200521 yr Commercial Member The problem with download accellerators is that there is a chance that the file will become corrupt. Too often we have seen this with them. That is one reason why we did a downloader tool. Each small "block" of bytes received is surveyed against a CRC data table you download locally (it is very small). If any bytes come in corrupt, it gets that section again. It will even repair a corrupted download that you may have gotten using another tool. Thanks, Steve Halpern Flight One Software
January 11, 200521 yr Why not go to an Internet Cafe? You can download it there for the small charge of using a PC whilst having a latte!Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."
January 11, 200521 yr >>>Who says it will be downloadable? January 12, 200521 yr Hi Flight One (since someone of you is posting here),I would like to order the 767 and download it on a different computer. My job-pc has a faster connection and the download would go much faster. So is it possible for me to download the 767 on one (copy to CD) and install it on another pc (my home pc with FS installation)?Regards, Roger
January 12, 200521 yr Guys if memory serves me correct you DL the whole install program first! Then the purchase is made through the F1 installer, once payment is approved it will install on your HDD. So Roger you would DL(at work) first then purchase it at home on you FS pc..Hope that helps
