ActiveSky2004 MR1 update officially released!

Featured Replies

Hi,The update works superbly. Congratualations on a fine job.I did a flight from Heathrow to Seattle and the weather was spot on. No sudden windshifts, smooth weather all the way and a big band of overcast clouds on my arrival made for an exciting if dodgy approach (based on my flying skills).Keep up the good work.

Having problems getting on to the downloads page, keeps coming up with the following link "http://www.hifisim.com/datanet/currentsnapshot5.asd5" which is not an update. Maybe it is me not sure!!!!Many Thanks, Garry.

Same here, Weather, impressing as always, no windshifts and no sudden cloud disappearings. Sometimes you have to hit the reload buton in order to get the weather at the departure airport right. Keep up the excellent work!Mario KSAN

Can someone please tell me how you get the download? Thanks, Garry.

Hi Mario,Thanks! If the wx isn't correct on startup, it could be possible that a wx theme or saved wx loaded with your flight is conflicting. Try a manual selection of the clear wx theme followed by manual FSUIPC "Clear all wx", then load AS2004 and the problem should correct itself. Let me know!

Hi Damian,Thanks for the link, managed to download patch, not sure why the other link is not working I tried the refresh but got the same. Thanks again, Garry.

Damian I have some arrival issues. I seem to back into the changing weather again. Flew in to KBWI this morning. KBWI was reporting Overast with light mist. I went from partly cloudy at 6000ft right into the overcast conditions until about 3000ft then back to partly cloudy until about 1500ft. then Overcast again. I can't figure it out, everything should be right. One last thing. When loading AS2004 I get the "Timeout" thing until I am postioned at the gate. I use to be able to able to load AS2004 at the FS9 startup screen and it would load the weather for me. I would then only load the Flightplan after I was at the gate. Here are my settings: [General]WindowPosX = 1725WindowPosY = 1935DefaultWeatherFolder = C:INSTALLDIRModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 2000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 50IncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = TruePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = TrueUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueRouteWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueCCWindsFix = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -6TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEThanksVollmey

Vollmey,Were there any other reported cloud layers or just the one?Are you locking your frame rate in FS? I wonder if your system is not able to keep up and is dropping cloud layers until it "catches up" and then the layer pops in again. Just a thought!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Jim, I am locked at 20 I was landed with framerates between 15 and 20. I have never really have a problem with framerates except for cruising above overcast conditions. And then maybe every 5 mins. I drop down to maybe 10 or so. I have always contributed that to FS drawing clouds on the horizon. It happens even with FS's own weather. I thought the "Force Destination Zone" button was there to fix this.Everything is perfect other than this. I am going to to another flight and we'll see what happens.

Hi Damian,Having a problem with the ActiveRadar/AS2004 WideFS Connector v2.It locates the AS2004 path on the remote PC, but when I click next to automatically find the FS2004 installation, I get this error message:" FS2004 installation not found! This program needs to be run on the FS PC!".Did not have this problem on the roginal release.... can you help figure this one out. Is there a way to bypass the automatic installation and manually point the connector to the FS2004 root folder?Cheers,Claus
