March 7, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Claus,You can manually install it, but I am curious as to why the failure. You DID run it on the FS PC, correct? Logged in as administrator when you installed FS9 and AS2004? If it didn't find the install that means that the reg key for FS9 was not found. Can you let me know what your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator9.0EXE Path value is?Feel free to email me direct at [email protected]. March 7, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Sandy,It is available for online view. The new docs are all in HTML. http://www.hifisim.com/downloads.htm.-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 8, 200422 yr Working great! I think there is a configuration method to fix this issue, but I'm at a loss for what it is. I DO get popups, particularly when on the ground. It definitely is related to visibility layers. I think this is the same problem that can crop up when looking at the silouettes of mountains in the distance: the visibility layer wants to compete with the silouettes, causing the silouette to dance around a bit. Any thoughts on this? This issue IS NOT the same as the sudden disappearance or appearance of whole weather themes. It is like the cloud is shown from top to bottom, in that sequence, depending on your position. If you stop the aircraft from moving, the "popups" stop changing or evolving. I am using the Normal Defaults. I forget, how should I have the visibility tab set up in FSUIPC?Thanks again, very stable winds and lovely weather.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. March 8, 200422 yr Damian.. Everything seems to be very stable now. Thanks for the fix.------------------------------------------------------------------Joe F."It's not the fall that kills ya. March 8, 200422 yr WOW!, I had waited patiently for the "official realease" and had not installed any of the alpha updates. It seems like a totally different program, very well done Manny Patel
March 8, 200422 yr For various reasons I have not been simming in the last 5 months however I have been following this and other forums. I must say ActiveSky2004 will be the very frst add-on that I plan to purchase once I get back. It looks like Damian and his crew did phenomenal job. Congratulations !Michael J. Michael J.
March 10, 200422 yr Hello Damian, First of all I would like to thank you for the fine work you have been and are still doing with your weather program. Marvelous piece of software. I do have two questions to ask you: (1) I just purchased AS2004 this Tuesday and do note that MR1 has been released. How does a user determine what BUILD he currently has on his/her machine? (2) Every 10-15 seconds there seems to be a bright flash when using the 2D panel view. Do I have something configured improperly in AS2004?Thank You
March 10, 200422 yr Hi,This release is really great and seems to solve all of the problems. AS2004 works as it is described in the user guide. But I still have a problem about the weather updated when my plane is on the ground.I know that if we would use local suppression on the ground, the weather would never change. That is not totally correct because the wind moves clouds from different stations to my station and thus change the weather. The problem is just for all other parameters like temperature, the winds, etc.So may you allow me to make a proposition for a future version of AS2004 ?I propose to offer to users an option that would allow them to enable local suppression only for the clouds when the plane is on the ground.Tell us if this is possible and what you think about it.Thank you again for that product.Regards.
March 10, 200422 yr Sorry to report a problem Damian, unless this is a one off data glitch.First time I have had chance to use the new build this evening 10/03/04 2000UTCI am ready for flight from KSFO to CYVR, route entered into AS2 and route smoothing option on.Navlog is showing all winds as 225 @ zero kts and temp as -273, absolute zero - brrrr :-)I have had this problem before and would suggest that a filter be applied to filteer out such obvious incorrect data if that is possible. With those winds I will not be using AS2 on this flight so will not be reporting findings on this flight.Rgds
March 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi, Thanks for the words!Build # is shown on the main AS2004 interface screen, bottom right corner. The purchase download package has not yet been updated, so you'll need to get MR1.To get rid of flashes, Turn off Render to Texture (FS display settings) and if using FSW clouds, make sure you have the 32-bit set.Hope that helps!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the suggestion! Will be considering that!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi,Strange. 225@zero across the board indicates no wind aloft data. By any chance does a refresh clear it up? If you can reproduce I'd be very interested in the data and steps you took to do so! [email protected]. Thanks!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
