March 10, 200422 yr I reported the same problem setting a flight from KBUF to KSFO on 18/02/04 Damian.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ype=search#8180I have the 'export_data.rad' if that is of any use Damian but the 'current_wx_snapshot.txt' file is a little odd, it has today's date but a time of 1141UTC when the PC was not even switched on!EDIT: Just had a look at the snapshot file and it is showing the winds at 225, 0 kts and -273 degrees.I am currently in the flight using that other well known weather program ;-) but I have the return flight to do.Hopefully that flight will be done this week and I will check winds aloft data, as I always do.Rgds
March 10, 200422 yr Hello Damian and the group, I am slowly, very slowly, getting AS2004 to work with FS2004. Unfortunately I do not think I'm running on all cylinders. Due to the somewhat slow, too slow in my oinion, rate of speech from ATIS when both products are installed on the same PC (2.5 GHZ with 1 GHZ RAM) I thought I would move AS2004 to my networked computer in an attempt the normalize the voice just like I did with Radar Contact with WideFS. Thus my question: Why do I have to map my networked PC drive/s to my main PC? I didn't have to do that with Radar Contact and WideFS which work fine. The standard network connection between the two computers did the trick. As I said I think my cylinders are shutting down. Thanks
March 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Blias,The mapping is required for ActiveRadar (on the FS machine) to read data from AS2004 (on the WideFS/AS2004 machine). There is too much data to use the FSUIPC interface for this transfer. We must use files instead. This is only for ActiveRadar. AS2004 itself does not require any mappings.Hope that helps!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi,Problem found. It was related to a temporary WFS (world forecasting system) data outage that our server incorrectly handled. All is well now, please do a new wx download. Fixing the server now to prevent this from happening again...-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 10, 200422 yr Hi Damian,Glad you found the problem and thanks for your continued effort to improve AS, some of this must be beyond the call of duty :-)
March 10, 200422 yr Hi Damian, I DID say all my cylinders are not up to par. I just finished mapping the drives from the Client computer to the Host and am now installing AS2004 on that Client. Should work out as you say for, afterall, you haven't led me astray yet. As soon as I get WideServer and WideClient updated on both machines we will give it another go. Thank you for your very prompt reply.Cheers

March 10, 200422 yr strange its acting normal again. I'm loging fpuic in hopes it might catch something
March 11, 200422 yr Hi Damian, Great final product. I had the wind issue yesterday also. all aloft layers calm with -273C. After taking off 3 times and having all engines fail out of 6000 (I guess the fuel froze!) I finally noticed the temps in the AS window. (duh) I guess that explains why the AI traffic were putting out contrails at 7000ft. I then made the flight using the Flight sim download weather. whew! I had forgotten how hideous that is. If people think wind shifts with AS2004 are bad, I strongly suggest you fly a flight with FS weather!!!!!! It will renew your appreciation for all of Damian's work!!!!! And MAYBE MICROSOFT will FIX the wind layer transitions!!!!A satisfied customer!Chris
