Flying towards LGAV, I got a weather report for winds at 050 degrees, so I assumed that rwys 03L/R would be in use. However, when I got there, I realised that the runways in use are 21R/L. I checked ASV window and saw this (attached file).a) Why is there a reference in LGAT (which is closed for the last 5 years)?:( Why the rwy in use is one with a strong tailwind when METARS actually show an opposite wind?c) What's the actual wind conditions in this METAR? 160018, 01020, or 04016????Thanks!Kostis

Kwstas,You must manually eddit the Complete airport List and wx_station list txtsAt the Complete AIrport list find any reference of LGAT and erase it. Find LGAV and paste this LGAV,037.936,023.945,308At the Ex_Station list find LGAT and erase it and then copy the following LGAV,37.936,23.945,90,3.0From now one you are goign to have LGAV as identifier in AS. ALso you must erase the code for the American base at SUDA which appears travelling towards there na dleave only LGSA. Unfortunately I don;t remember the code by heart.Alos Damian any news on adding LGIO LGST and LGTG station is your server?RegardsChris

Hi Kostis,c) Wind is as shown in the right hand pane where it says 'decoded', so it is 040 at 16kts. That is the wind reported by the METAR.The 01020 wind is from the TAF which has a slightly later time (1600Z as opposed to 1550Z). So the wind has shifted North and strengthend to 20 Kts.Hope that's right :-)As to why rwy21 would be in use is anyones guess, FS ATC seems to have a mind of its own :-)If flying on VATSIM were you using the VATSIM option for ASV?

Its a non existent airport nowadays and it does create problems in FS with its (FS WX) proximity to LGAV since you don't have LGAV code in the files of each AS update.Check also the older thread:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...95&mesg_id=8795If you have proof that LGAT (MET station) updates weather correctly and always in sequence with other METARs, then by all means keep it but make sure at least that LGAV gets its WX correctly and individually from LGAT.For the record: the is based at LGAT site where the airport used to be! Hi,The flip side of this is that IF FS has LGAT and people use LGAT then we'll hear about how they are not getting the proper station. Now I just pulled the weather for LGAV, got the LGAT ICAO, but got the weather from LGAV. Hi,Guys,Remember that LGAT is the only settable station in FS9... the servers are automatically getting the data from LGAV and applying it to the LGAT station data (that FS9 can depict). If you remove LGAT then you won't get weather depicted anywhere in that immediate region (it will instead be interpolated from other closest stations). Not sure why the ATC would be wrong concerning the runway, unless the wind switched recently and ATC simply had not yet adjusted the traffic.Kyprianos, because of the FS9 station issue we were unable to do anything with the server details you provided us with. We did try quite a few times and came close to making things work but the fact that there are (in most cases) no specific FS9 stations to match these with makes it (made it) a troublesome task.Fortunately we've had a recent breakthrough in another area, which (I think) will finally enable additional stations to be added properly. I know you've been writing us for quite a while now hoping for better Greece station support, providing some great detailed information (thanks!), and I hope we'll finally be able to get this in for the next update (in progress). Thanks Damian. It sounds promising. For the time being, I'm just used to expect tailwinds with the active runways and I'm able to see which rwy is in use only after contacting tower.
