December 22, 200520 yr With the advent of the much improved ASV6 does anybody see the need for running Flight Environment as well? In ASVe I found that the rain effects were not as good as FE, but there seems to be an improvement in ASV6. Are there any disadvantages? Are the water textures still better in FE than ASV6? I read in one forum that FE was keen to "tie in" with weathermaker pro. I certainly don't want to buy another weather package just to get FE running optimally. Are there any thoughts or opinions out there?RegardsPeterH
December 22, 200520 yr I keep FE just for the water textures as well. Everything else I let as6 handle. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
December 22, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi all,Yes ActiveSky Graphics does not contain water textures. FE is a great solution for this. FE also has some good clouds and sky textures, although we like ours the best, this is always a very subjective thing so having FE along with ASG would be the best of both worlds.. you can actively run the both and have textures from each as you desire. We also have created a new open Auto-submission and IGS system where developers can very easily add their own graphics add-on into the ASv6 Wx-Influenced or random auto-submitted texture system. We hope to be speaking with developers everywhere (including FE!) to start integrating this as soon as possible. No reason to have redundant non-compatible graphics from many different sources... ASv6 and the Auto-submit/IGS system can integrate everything together, allowing a multiple of selections between different addons (i.e. Wx-Influenced clouds from ASG OR FE, wx-influenced water from FE, wx-influenced ground from BEV, random everything between all add-ons, etc.)... The system is very flexible and we hope all graphics add-on developers decide to take advantage of it!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

You don't need any other program to get the best weather/sky effects. It doesn't have water. But you can also get very good water these days in BEV (in my opinion best inland water). So there is some overlap between different products. You can mix and match to suit your preferences.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
