April 23, 200719 yr Very often tenperature and pressure change very quiklyHow can I smooth them?ReguardsFabrizio
April 23, 200719 yr Hi,Thanks for writing! If you have a registered version of FSUIPC, you can smooth the pressure through that.Sorry, but we do not have a way of smoothing temperatures except through the suppression settings in Active Sky. You are using those, correct? Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
April 30, 200719 yr I had a similar experience this weekend flying KJFK to LFPG, I noticed the TAT increased to -15; I verified that AV6.5 was providing an OAT at my flight level of about -40.. then quite suddenly the TAT decreaseed to -22 (normal) and I was startled by an altitude altert as the APFD returned me back to FL350. A look back at AV6.5 still showed an OAT of -40 but I had changed reporting stations. I'm still puzzled... don't know if it is FS9, the PMDG744, FSUIPC (I'm registered) or AV6.5 I am using FSUIPC to smooth wind and pressure.I am using suppression, currently set at 30nm... maybe that should be increased? Any ideas? Dan Downs KCRP
May 1, 200719 yr Hi Dan,Yes, in a high speed jet you will want to try 100-150.Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
May 1, 200719 yr The altitude alert doesn't depend by pressure?I'm using FSUIPC registered but the problem persist, sometime the altimeter become crazy (i conferme, expecially on Atlantic Ocean). But also the machmeter, changes whthout wind variations and this depend, i think, by temperature. In attachement AS and FSUIPC settingsReguardsFabrizio
May 1, 200719 yr Hi,Not as realistic, I know, but turn On Force Constant Route Temperature Aloft and use a flightplan. Then let's see what happens.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
May 1, 200719 yr Hi All,One thing I failed to ask each of you: is this with FS04 or FSX?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

May 2, 200719 yr Hi,Just noticed that you are forcing your destination weather zone, so you may want to try with that Off.Another suggestion is to increase your suppression to 200 miles.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
May 2, 200719 yr >Hi All,>>One thing I failed to ask each of you: is this with FS04 or>FSX?>Jim does the registered FSUIPC pressure smoothing work with FSX also?RhettAMD 3700+ (@2310 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-8 (1T), WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian case Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
May 3, 200719 yr Hi Rhett,Please check with Pete on this. I say this because smoothing was not a part of all this when we made the switch to FSX, but things may be different now. There has been many versions of FSUIPC4 since.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
May 8, 200719 yr Finally, what combination of the FSUIPC/AS settings would you recommend to play with for a smoother/more realistic atmospheric changes for flying a jet in FS9? Can anyone give an example, please, so that I could build on that? Many thanks.
