December 24, 200718 yr Commercial Member And another thing, how come when I click disable winds aloft.. and FSUIPC is off.. and the MSFS weather control says there are no winds.. I still have winds aloft!CheersCraig Craig Read, EGLL
December 24, 200718 yr Hi Jim,I actually found that one since posting. I just wish they provided the data as one big download... I'd like to put the data in a spreadsheet for flight planning. Your brief feature is nice, but it lacks a total average groundspeed for the entire length of the route. I need this groundspeed to calculate fuel burn. Thanks for the tip.Jeff Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
December 24, 200718 yr Hi,Try with wind smoothing both on and off and see if one way is better.Happy Holidays,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
December 24, 200718 yr Hi,Because the data is still in FSX. Choose the Clear Sky weather theme in FSX, then refresh ASX.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
December 25, 200718 yr Just to add my comment, i know you are working on it Jim.Sometimes I get Turbulence while on the ground no other aircraft around, shakes me up pretty good.More often than not while in cruise my air speed drops drastically or the plane speeds up to disintegration. Cross winds so severe it makes it difficult to stay on track. When I enter a station at the main ASX screen, I do this to check departure and landing runway choices, I get an unrealistic wind reading due (according to the notes) wind smoothing? Makes it very difficult to use the ASX interface for weather planning purposes. Case in point departing CYQG actual wind 110 07kts, ASX says 210 08kts. The difference between departing rwy07 (which it should be as it is the active) or rwy 25. Also noticed that switching from "download" weather and Vatsim weather made no change in my example, (doesn't mean anything just a statement). I usually use Environment Canada for weather planning and it is rare that Vatsim weather is as updated.Graphics are gorgeous and I have been with Activesky since it was free, love the product look forward to the repairs.Vista 32QX6700 Quad 2.66 @ 2.94XFX GTX 8800 PCIEStriker Extreme MBHDD Seagate 400GB 2x Raid 0RAM 4GB 800MHZ PC2-6400CH YokeCH PedalsGoFlight GF45, GF-MCP, GFp8, GF-TQ6, GF-LGT, GF T8UTX CanadaScenery TechFSGenesisFS scene all seasons North AmericaPMDG 400X FSX Deluxe with SDK and SP2ASX SP2ASX Graphics SP2FSUIPC registered weather off.FSINN 1.3 Weather off. December 28, 200718 yr Made my first long-haul today with SP2.Worked all fine. On cruising FL350 I had no shifts. But can ASX fall asleep? I had the same wind for 2 hours.W291/111 as expected south of Greenland but the wind didn Regards, Christoph Reppel (FSX, Win7 64-bit, I7)
December 28, 200718 yr Hi,Normal rihgt now, because that is the way we are controlling shifts. We are testing another way at the moment.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
