May 30, 200818 yr Hi Scott,If you are using B1160, then there is no option for that line anymore. The revisions document goes into this a bit more. Resave your settings and I would say that that line will be gone.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 31, 200818 yr >Reduce Maximum Upper Visibilty to 0 SM.>>For me it works. The fog layer is gone.>I'm downloading the latest drivers for my videocard. Maybe>that solves the problem after all.>>Cheerio!>joschy66Good find Joschy. I also had this strange layer after installing SP3. Your above suggestion removes the layer.I don't think however videocard drivers are of influence here... Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
May 31, 200818 yr Commercial Member Hi Jim,Also, maybe the reason you don't have the fog it's because x graphics does have the option to reduced? The fog rendering with the white opaque can be reducing with x graphics using the overcast cirrus option, Also disable skyscape introduce this if you are not using x graphics.FSX displays a haze effect to render visibility layer ceilings. When you are above this ceiling you will see a cirrus overcast texture which simulates the lower visibility haze. Some users may prefer a lighter/more transparent haze effect so we have provided two Cirrus Overcast textures (Cirrus Overcast 4 and Cirrus Overcast 5) with such lighter effect. This may improve the appearance of these haze layers especially when it intersects with mountainous terrain. To use these textures persistently, select and install Cirrus Overcast 4 or Cirrus Overcast 5, and after installation of textures, prevent Cirrus Overcast installation via the Advanced Options (uncheck the Cirrus Overcast item). This permits normal randomization/wx-influenced/manual selection of all other categories while keeping Cirrus Overcast locked as selected before the advanced option change.ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
May 31, 200818 yr Hi,After updating to SP3 I do not get blue skies anymore anywhere. A layer of fog is depicted about 3000ft above ground level, no matter what the weather is like. From below that layer the sky looks white as if overcast, even if there's not a single cloud in the sky.I just did a re-install of ASX and SP3 and left everything on default. Same problem. No additional software installed.Any suggestions?Regards, joschy66
May 31, 200818 yr Commercial Member Hi, When you change driver, delete your fsx.cfg, I had some problem when updating driver, there was 2 driver name in the fsx.cfg writed, after deleting fsx.cfg probleme was gone. ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
June 23, 200817 yr Hi, I have this haze layer at ~3000ft also. I too can cure it by reducing upper visibility to '0'The problem with that is when flying at high altitude the weather depiction is less than appealing. You can practically see to the edge of the solar system, with your cloud draw limit plainly visible. If setting the lower and upper visibility to the same, 50 miles is my preferred distance, when descending below 3000ft, the clouds are cut in half by this ugly visibility lineI drive an 8800GTX on 175.16 drivers.I would love to see this fixed. July 11, 200817 yr I dont get clear skys anymore either.Everywhere i go in the sim I have the same broken cloud that looks like overcast. I tried my own city and the same. I walk out side and the sky is clear and deep blue, not a cloud in site.Active sky X is wrong.i load in one after another airports from around the world and the same weather in the sim. a cloud cover.I turned off ASX and used the built in weather downloads off the net and the weather is what it should be. ASX gets it wrong now.why?so far Im not impressed with it at all.Only had it less than a week.
July 11, 200817 yr Don't get down heartened. ASX is a great program and with great support.Jim or Damian will be along to offer their advice in due course.I think you're seeing a haze layer that is generated by FSX.If you use Xgraphics there is a cirrus layer you can select which helps negate this effect. Chris Willis is a good search name to use to find the thread. If you use FEX, following the advice in this thread, I turned upper visibility to '0' and lower visibility to '50' miles. Your blue skies will be back, but if you fly at high altitude you tend to see to far into the distance in my opinion. It is a good trade off, though.Hope this helps you on your way.Stu i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.
