February 26, 200521 yr SU-WEET!! Can't wait to add that one to my hangar. I saw one of those last summer at the local airshow "Gathering of Warbirds" put on by the Olympic Flight Museum in Olympia, Washington. Very impressive bird!

February 27, 200521 yr Author Commercial Member Oh yes! And not only did the Avenger see service with the French Navy, so did the carrier we are producing...http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/laf.jpgFrench Aircraft Carrier La Fayette (formerly USS Langley, CVL-27) Prepares to Launch a French Navy TBM-3E "Avenger" (USN Bureau # 85684) from her starboard catapult, during the 1950s.I guess you'll have to translate an aircraft carrier manual, too! ;)Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, Sodja & Beaumonthttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo2.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
February 27, 200521 yr Wonderful news !Will you be working on something that makes it disappear if flown into the Bermuda Triangle ?Best wishes,Alastair
February 27, 200521 yr I'll have to start making room in my hangar for this great bird! Looking good already. Can hardly wait.
February 27, 200521 yr Author Commercial Member That's the same problem MAAM is up against. When the Turkey settled into the hangar, things got even more squeezed together in our hangar than had previously been the case.http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/hangar.jpgThis summer, the P-61 will come out of the back shop which is not large enough to accomodate her once the inner wings are attached.http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/p61_shop.jpgShe is scheduled to be on her landing gear and out on the ramp during WWII Weekend and then we have to find a space for her on our compound where the restration can continue and visitors can still view her. Anyone want to donate I nice steel buiding for the purpose? February 27, 200521 yr O MY GOODNESS!!! I can't begin to tell you how much this excites me. I am an avid warbird lover. Warbirds are basically all that I fly in FS 2004. When I posted here a while back asking what your next project was going to be, I had no idea it was going to be an Avenger. I am currently reading the book "Flyboys" and am now very much looking foward to actually flying an Avenger. I'll be sure to keep an eye open for this to be released. I almost wish that I hadn't seen this post because now I will be busting a gut until it is ready. :)Thanks,Hawk
