Nvidia appears to be ignoring 7800GT/GTX simmers...

Rob, Thanks for the info which certainly explains why I see little difference between my SLI profile and the standard one. As for the Dell XPS600 (UK version)it comes with Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840 (3.2Ghz X2) with HT, 2GB DDR2SDRAM, nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 256MB Dual Card, 500GB Serial ATA Raid 0 Stripe Hard Drive and Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music card. I have a 20" UltraSarp Flat Panel running at 1600x1200 resolution. I have updated the drivers from 77.74 to 77.77 since I acquired the computer at the start of November but going to the + 80 series did bother me and so I went back to the old ones. I have managed to get SLI rendering = SLIAntilasing to improve the performance with Combat Flight Simulator 3. SLI also seems to function well in BF2. As I have perfectly flyable FS9 at the moment I'm not going to do anything until you guys tell me that the new driver is the bees knees!!Howard

It states -"The A8N32-SLI Deluxe supports dual PCI Express x16 slots running at full speed to liberate graphics cards from the narrow bandwidth platform of x8 speed only"http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=...744&modelmenu=1Shep

>>This wasn't in the printed manual supplied with the motherboard. Have I wasted my money buying two FX7800 GTX cards?<< Hi George, I don't think so. You've got two single GPUs and not 2 double GPUs (4 in total). BTW, have any of you seen the double 7800 GPU in a shop yet? Wonder what they go for? :-) Good luck and kind regards Jaap

Yeah George, that limitation is referring to these ultra-expensive 7800's that are basically SLI on a single card. Certain motherboards are able to run two of those simultaneously for what's basically quad-SLI. No need to worry with what you've got...

Thanks guys, that's very reassuring.George

Everyone,The 81.98's are out as an official release (non-beta). The release notes say the corruption is fixed for the GeForce 7 series. Now, I have a pair of 6600GT's but I had the same problems as everyone else. I'll let you know how it works in a bit.

The 81.98 drivers work fine with my 2x XFX GeForce 7800GTX 512mb Extreme XXX Edition in SLI mode.Thank you Mr nVidia :-wave George

And the 81.98 work fine with my single 7800GTX 256MB as well :) Ulf B

Don't ship those 7800's just yet then -- sounds like we have a winner!Rob.

I also installed 81.98. No more corruption issues for me on an eVGA 7800GT 256MB. I too had to stick with 77.77 until today. I not only had horrible scenery corruption but also corruption of some aircraft textures. I feel for those that had so much trouble with the 512MB GTX. The 77.77 drivers were originally not for use with that card and it must have been a real pain. My brother and I are building a high-end system for him and wanted the 512MB but we were reluctanct to go with it waiting to see if nVidia addressed the issue.Thank you nVidia for paying attention and correcting this. YES, THE 81.98's WORK!Steve

Yup v81.98 work's well with my BFG 7800GTX OC.Bout time Nvidia got this issue fixed :)

Is the aircraft preview window fixed for you guys in the select aircraft screen? I am not using the FS9 profile in the driver but my usual 4x 8x Hiqh Quality with trilinear and I get no a/c preview. I CAN however use the 81.98 to power all three monitors on both 7800GTXOC non-sli cards though. First time I didn't have to revert to the 78.05 so we are definitely making progress.-PaulLiquid CooledAMD 4000 San Diego2 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2Dual 7800 GTX 24 inch widescreen dual 19 inch LCDRaid-0psolksig.jpg

FCK FCK FCK I am soooo PSSD right now. I was wrong in my post above, they DO NOT work with all three monitors. If I use two they will go full screen on both but if I use all three montitors the whole system locks up and needs to be rebooted. This SCKS!!!Back to being really mad at NVIDIA for now...-PaulLiquid CooledAMD 4000 San Diego2 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2Dual 7800 GTX 24 inch widescreen dual 19 inch LCDRaid-0psolksig.jpg

Hi Paul,The normal reason for no preview window is AA. Have you tried varying your AA setting? My only remaining problem with 81.98 is using FSNav in FS full-screen mode. When FSNav is windowed, that part of the FS screen from the top of the FSNav window to the bottom of the screen is not updated by FS, the upper part is. It works fine in FS windowed mode.George
