September 7, 200619 yr I can't directly comment on that one, though I do own and use one from RadioShack. It's catalog # 26-164 and costs $7 too.I use it with my old Wingman Extreme stick. Works great, with 1 little exception. I have to calibrate more often then if was hooked up via old joystick port, but considering it works it hasn't been that big of a deal.I use that a lot more often than the native USB Wingman Strike Force 3D force feedback stick that I have too.One of the few positive reviews from RS website: :)"If you can find it i....By: mike B., Los Angeles | 03/21/06Overall rating: 5 starsIf you can find it in stock, grab it!. It works just as advertised. I just hooked up my 1980's/90's G-Force Flight Yoke for MS Flight SIm."
September 7, 200619 yr I have used it under two conditions. I had the old MS Joystick that had a Game port connector and I got this (not the same brand) and it did not work. Then I have an ELO Touch screen monitor where I use something similar and that works. So ... there I have had a 50% 50% chance.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
September 7, 200619 yr Hi.I am not sure about the $7.00, but the $17.00 from RShack works fine with the CH Pro pedals, and other controllers. You have to select the right Switch position. TV
September 7, 200619 yr Note the "analog" portion of "Compatable with all conventional analog 15 pin game controllers..."The PC game port was designed for dual functions. Two analog joysticks, with two axis and two buttons each, and Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) for the connection of things like electronic organ keyboards. A special Y adapttor was typicaly required to attach the second joystick. As MIDI musical instrument normally used a connector that resembles a PS2 port, an adaptor was normally required for them as well. Some analog controlers use the circuits intended for the second jopystick for functions like throttles, point of view hats, additional buttons and/or rudder pedals. There were some functions where one brand used these circuits in ways that were inconsistant with other brands.Disatified with the limitations of the game port's joystick functions some controler manufacturers, including Microsoft, utilize the digital MIDI functions instead. Some product lines included a mix of analog and "Digital" MIDI game controler models. Many of the game port to USB adaptors only implement the game port's joystick functionss. Some contoler models include proprietary adaptors that allowed the controler to use either a USB port or the MIDI functions on the game port.
September 7, 200619 yr Hi,Well, I had a pair of CH Gameport Pedals, and tried such a thing. I found there was too much noise and it was not precise enough.BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
