August 5, 200718 yr Has anyone seen the forthcoming Saitek Yoke with steel shaft? looks like it could be better than the the CH one, the add on throttles look good as well, looks like Saitek will be adding instrument gauges as well in the future at an affordable price.http://saitekusa.stores.yahoo.net/proflyosy.htmlI think I'll be selling my CH Yoke quite soon.
August 6, 200718 yr From what I can see Saitek are still providing beta drivers for vista, so caveat emptor.scott s..
August 6, 200718 yr >From what I can see Saitek are still providing beta drivers>for vista, so caveat emptor.>>scott s.>.Is that true?I actually have a Thrustmaster Cougar, at least Saitek have Vista drivers, and that's more than can be said for the TM Cougar :) Besides, sometimes beta drivers are better than supposed fully signed ones, this is certainly true of Nvidea drivers.I'm sure Vista drivers will arrive for these products, that is the least of my concerns ... I still fancy one of these Yokes, but will wait for the reviews ... obviously.
August 6, 200718 yr Can you imagine the $ some company will make if they are the FIRST to introduce a Force Feedback YOKE? Stan
August 6, 200718 yr A missed opportunity for Saitek this time around? perhaps CH will now take the initiative for force feed back Yokes?I'd like one.
August 6, 200718 yr NICE! I have the saitek rudder pedals...I went to Frys to look at the CH product line....let me just say that the faded blueblack plastic look and playschool like buttons didnt get my attention. The pedals were not much better, as they looked more like foot slots from a workout machine. If their yoke is half as good as their rudder pedals, it might be something to consider...lets keep fingers crossed - danon -
August 6, 200718 yr It's really ashame that CH products hasn't done more in coming up with a more advanced yoke & throttle system. There is a real product need in the market for this type of flight control system. I hope Saitek can at least feel some of that void. CH could have made a better yoke because they have been in the business for a number of years but for some reason decided to do nothing but sit back and reel in the $$$. Go Saitek..jack
August 6, 200718 yr >Can you imagine the $ some company will make if they are the>FIRST to introduce a Force Feedback YOKE?> StanCan ytou imagine how much a company would make by making a proper 'Pendulum' type steering yoke to replicate the real thing? How much longer must we wait while tolerating poor unrealistic harware? Dave Taylor
August 6, 200718 yr Looks like the yoke and throttles are a package for the list of $150?? But the throttles need 6 levers as with CH, so that is a negative with me, but it does look more sturdy ............an another subject, has anyone got the headsets?? I have the eDimention FF but way too heavy and not good sound quality, (my opinion only).....other headset suggestions?? RRL

I still fancy one of these Yokes,>but will wait for the reviews ... obviously.>I think Saitek owners who experienced the problem of getting working drivers and SST software in Windows XP could probably vent some frustration. I stuck with Win 98, where the old Saitek SGE drivers worked for me, but many people out of frustration went with some 3rd party drivers made up by an enthusiast Dhauzimmer (IIRC). The Saitek SST works well on Win XP now (AFAICT) but I would be cautious in Vista until final software/drivers are released. scott s..

They can be downloaded directly from Thrustmasters website.

August 8, 200718 yr They got complacent. Now Saitek are in the picture we'll either see them supporting each other's frankly ridiculous prices or there'll be a price war. I'm guessing the former. Mind you it's nice to see them both taking an initiative - have you seen the CH Multi Function Panel (http://www.chproducts.com/shop/usb.html) or the Saitek LCD Instruments that are due out next year?(http://www.flightsimx.co.uk/hardware/saitek-flight-instrument-lcds/)
August 8, 200718 yr >Saitek LCD>Instruments that are due out next>year?(http://www.flightsimx.co.uk/hardware/saitek-flight-instrument-lcds/)I noticed the instruments planned for next year by Saitek but never picked up on the fact they are LCD's, was kind of hoping they would be real working instruments as sold by another company, but they might be good, will wait for user reviews on these products but the Yoke and throttle do look great. It is nice to see CH get some competition, can only be good for us all ... ultimately.

They should concentrate on a good yoke. The existing one is a joke.jack
