September 3, 200718 yr Author Nothing will be absolutely 'perfect', but this card made a huge difference for me.You mention taxiing...this card makes it smooth as silk...and you feel the rush down the runway right up to rotation. :)Stated using FS2004.A powerhouse for the asking price. :)Mitch
November 28, 200718 yr Hi Mitch! I am also a proud owner of the 226BW(S Panel), i haven't tried it in FS9 yet because my new video card hasn't arrived yet, but i sure hope it's as good as it sounds! :DI wrote some information on how to identify your 226bw panel, but it's a bit outdated.Identification of the your 226BW Panel:Samsung removed the labeling on the back in the middle somewhere of April 2007, However it's still possible to identify the monitor using the hidden menu by looking at the version and checksum:C-Chi Mei panel CMO M22Z1:BDA-1003/C329BDA-1002/D313A-AU Optronics panel AU M220EW01:BAA-1001/????BLA-1001/EB3EBLA-1002/D03DS-Samsung panel LTM220M1-L01:BAA-1001/FBC6BAA-1002/87AAThere is also another C version, this time for CPT, but it doesn't seem available in the 226BW, just 206BW.If you just bought a monitor that came from Tianjin China, it is most likely a S panel. In fact most of them come from there now, unless you live in Europe, which most likely your monitor will come from Slovakia. It seems that all monitors that come from Tianjin, China now are S panels. I even bought two, from different stores and they were both BAA-1002/87AA, which is a S panel. There is also the 2232BW, which is rumored to be S panel only. However it looks worse (cosmetics wise) than 226BW and you can't use any stand on it because it doesn't support VESA mount. And last, it's more expensive. If you weren't blessed and received a C or an A panel, it's still not that bad, colors can be calibrated to look very close to S panel.C panel profiles can be found here:http://www.andrewswihart.net/blog/review-s...6bw-lcd-c-panelA panel profiles here:http://www.behardware.com/articles/667-3/s...he-verdict.html

November 29, 200718 yr Hi,I picked up my 226BW about 3 month ago, I have't been able to figure if its a C or an S panel. The version is M-ME22-H0CAA - 1002 the type isGH22WS and Model code is LS22 MEHSFV/XAA.Anybody know which one it is???Thanks,Helmut My System: Intel 9700K 4.7Gz, ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHZ, Evga 3070TI 8GB, Noctua NH-D15S, Gigabyte 27" Monitor, Windows 10 64bit, 2xSamsung 500GB SSD, 1x Samsung 120GB, 1x Samsung 970, 1TB, 1TB H/D for Storage. November 29, 200718 yr Author Hi there!Yes, the 226 is a great monitor also. I originally purchased this one, but then wanted the higher native resolution that the 245BW gave me (1920x1200) and also that it is a true HD 1080p unit.:)Mitch
November 30, 200718 yr Hi Helmut,I have a "C" panel and despite all the hysterical nonsense broadcast over the internet I can assure you that it is a great performer. The only difference between it and the fabled "S" panel is that the latter seems to need very little recalibration out of the box, i.e. has been set up correctly prior to going to market. The "C" panel, when I got mine, had a disturbing blue bias to the image. I recalibrated the monitor with Spyder2express and the image is now the best I have seen.Okay, this did involve additional expenditure, but Spyder2express takes all the guesswork out of what is, after all, quite a difficult process to get right. Moreover, you can recalibrate as often as you like as all monitors do drift over time. I regard this as a worthwhile investment. Some have said that the backlighting on the "C" panel is not as good as the "S" with some bleed through. I can see a tiny amount around the edges, top and bottom, when testing the monitor with a black screen. However, in practice this is barely noticeable and certainly won't interfere with your gaming or simming. Flight Sim has never looked so good! :)Unless Samsung have now relaxed their protocols, it is unlikely you will be able to identify the panel without taking the back off and lifting the metal screen underneath. This will invalidate your warranty unless you do it very carefully and leave no trace of your activities. The procedure can be found on the internet if you are really desperate to satisfy your curiosity. That's how I found out I had a "C" panel.Mike
December 1, 200718 yr Thanks everyone for responding to my concerns about the 226BW, feel better now knowing I have an S panel, the #'s on the hardware sure are confusing. They know how to hide pertinent info.Helmut My System: Intel 9700K 4.7Gz, ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHZ, Evga 3070TI 8GB, Noctua NH-D15S, Gigabyte 27" Monitor, Windows 10 64bit, 2xSamsung 500GB SSD, 1x Samsung 120GB, 1x Samsung 970, 1TB, 1TB H/D for Storage. I use a DLP projector, it's only native 1024x768x32 but it can do 1280x720 and 1950x1050 compressed, which looks surprisingly good! At this size resolution is'nt as important. Plus it doubles for a movie theater!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
