November 5, 200718 yr Yea, but it looks silly enough having one big explorer window stretch across two widescreens. I imagine it will be even more noticable with three screens. Not to worry though, I work around this now by running my windows unmaximised at one full widescreen size. I expect I will have to do the same when my TH2G arrives. Most likely, I will do all my "window" work on the widescreen I will keep on the spare video port and use the TH2G screens for my happy place :-).Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
November 5, 200718 yr SteveThanks for the reply. Do I still need a 8800GT card with the triple head? Corrie

November 5, 200718 yr JimFunds are a bit tight and I still need to buy the MATROX triple head as well. Will the MATROX triple head work with this configuration?Corrie
November 5, 200718 yr >Jim>Funds are a bit tight and I still need to buy the MATROX>triple head as well. >>Will the MATROX triple head work with this configuration?>>CorrieThe TH2Go will work with the X1550...BUT.....The X1550 has 2 Pixel processors and 2 Vertex processors. By today's standards it is hardly a 'gaming' card, and retails at about $50. Compare this with the X1950 which has 48 Pixel processors and 4 Vertex processors.(The latest 2900 Series cards have 320 Processors)My concern is that the X1550 is below par when compared to the rest of your system.RegardsJim
November 5, 200718 yr Ewing- have a look at my responses in this thread- espec #4. I'm using a GeForce FX5200 AGP Dualhead and a same type PCI single head card. Works very smoothly with my old AMD XP2200 1.8 processor & FS9, producing triple views LFwd,Fwd,RFwd in a 48" wide, 180
November 6, 200718 yr Can one of you multi-monitor cutting edge guys comment on the following?Currently I use 2 19" monitors using a 7600GT. All is well in FS9 with my OC dual core 6600. Now, I am moving to FSX and will be puchasing a 8800GT and a 1920x1200 LCD. I wanted to use my current 2 19" monitors and the 7600GT in a 3 monitor/2 vid card setup.Seems like a plan I figured ... But ... The 7600GT is a PCI-e x16 card and my mobo has only one PCI-e x16 slot. I assume I cannot plug the x16 card in a x1 slot. So is there a PCI-e x1 card that you would recommend that would co-exist with the 8800GT.What is the procedure to install multiple vid cards (sequence of cards and drivers)? Thanks for any advice Cheers, Scott Ball
November 6, 200718 yr JimThanks for pointing that out to me. Lining in South Africa has its draw backs. Here these kind of things are very expensive. The 8800 with 768MB RAM is that any good? Corrie

What I would do in this situation is either:1. Run your Widescreen from one 8800 output and run the 2 19" monitors from the second output through a Matrox TH2Go or a DH2Go. 2. Get a PCI (NOT PCI-e) graphics card eg nVidia FX5200/5500http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814133007Get the 128-bit version rather than the 64-bitRegardsJim

If I understand correctly... I have my 8800GT feed the center wide screen and the PCI FX5200 feed the 2 19" screens on each side of the center screen. Can I now set up the screens using LFwd, Fwd, RFwd. What is involved and how do you set this up in FS9 and FSX. Alex, is it possible to write a up a mini tutorial on this (or is there one available somewhere?).Alex, I was curious why you used 3 separate vid cards instead of 2. Cheers, Scott Ball
November 7, 200718 yr Scott-Once the monitors are active, go into Control Panel/ Display/ Settings and drag the monitor schematic pics to represent your physical layout-presumably side by side. There are tick boxes to "Extend My Desktop to This Monitor". When it is set up right, your mouse cursor will travel freely from extreme left to far right- as if it was all just one wide desktop! Now you can set up the views- Square left bracket creates a new view-use num KB 7 or 9 to set the proper view. "Look forward left" is by default- CTRL+num7 (Fwd Right=CTRL+num9) - if you change these 2 assignments to SHIFT+ num7 (or 9), you don't have to use 2 keystrokes-the num 7 or 9 will do the trick alone. (Num lock on, Caps lock off) Next Undock, drag the view to the proper monitor and resize to mate with main view. You can now open/ undock/ drag various sub panels and popups to other monitors and in effect extend the cockpit panel across all three mons as well as the views. Next step is aligning/synchronizing the views. You want to adjust for your specific monitor bezel widths and set the height of the left or right views to align horizons. You can also make a view any height you wish and still keep the horizons aligned- my left view is full height, right view only comes down to height of the main view glareshield. You can also compensate for monitor angle and tilt. Be sure side edges of monitors are touching- use wedges or shims under the bases if needed. Rather than retyping this next part again, do an advanced search in this forum on Keyword VIEW_FORWARD . Search Subject and Message- search all topics. In the resulting list you should find a thread "Triple Monitor Setup Help Please" started by Kimchoc. Or search for topic #27159. This text gives details of the alignment process & really is not as complex as at first glance.Hope this all helps- once you've got it working you will never go back to single mon tunnel vision!!Triple vid cards? One is a dual head AGP, the other single PCI. That's the way the world was 4 years ago I suppose. Safe flying!Alex Reid CYYJ
