December 24, 200718 yr I dont see a way to assign specific engine controls for feathering and thrust reversers for the CH throttle quad's prop and throttle detents.I'd like to be able to practice my multi-engine emergency procedures but I cant readily feather without using the keyboard...defeats the purpose of developing the muscle memory and reflexive responses required for real flight(Im a GA pilot). Real twin flights are expensive ways of practicing these procedures so being able to do it in sim is much more cost effective. Is there an add-on/mod I need or something? Also, does anyone know of a well modeled Beechcraft BE-76 "Duchess" for FS9 or FSX(preferred)
December 24, 200718 yr Commercial Member You can do it Charles if you have the program FSUIPC. Makes it quite easy. I did with my CH Throttle Quad and now I have done it with my new Saitek Throttle Quad. Granted, FSUIPC is not free but many of us swear by it. Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
December 24, 200718 yr Sweet, Ill have to check it out. Can I also use this FSUIPC to possibly smooth out the control inputs for my CH FS Yoke USB...it seems real pitchy and unstable...sometimes it doesnt even feel like its receiving inputs.
December 24, 200718 yr As clutchcargo said, get FSUIPC - Flight Simulator Universal Inter-Process Communication (make sure you purchase so you can register and get the full features.)Purchase: http://secure.simmarket.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=2068Download: http://www.schiratti.com/files/dowson/FSUI...imestamp=250707Update: http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=55488 This is the latest update (v. 4.208) with a bug fix regarding the mixture levers. Then read the FSUIPC Users Guide for CH Products Hardware:http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=59729 kindly posted by "flyboy2002".***************************************************************************************Notes for Setting Thrust Reverse, Prop Feather and Mixture Idle-Cutoff with CH Hardware (USB Yoke Pad, USB Rudder Pedals, USB Throttle Quadrant) with FSUIPC 4.207 (or later) and the Microsoft FSX Beechcraft Baron and Super King Air aircraft.***************************************************************************************FSUIPC Web: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlFSUIPC Support: http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54 (Promptly provided by Pete Dowson, FSUIPC Developer, and other users.)Here are some Notes to flatten the CH/FSX/FSUIPC Prop Reverse Learning Curve and save you time so you can keep flying!Note 0: Buy and Register FSUIPC________________________________You may already have FSUIPC installed if you have Go-Flight or PFC hardware or fly PMDG aircraft or other hardware and software, as most all use FSUIPC to communicate with FSX. Still do install the latest version and also register to unlock features not available in the unregistered version, such as joystick calibration!Note 1: Set Throttle Lever "DetentValue" in CH Control Manager_______________________________________________________________Before starting lever calibrations, make sure you go into the / CH Control Manager v. 4.2 / Calibrate / CH Throttle Quadrant USB / "Throttle Settings" Tab and / set all to:MinValue = 0MaxValue = 255DetentValue = 240 <-- Forget this and no "Reverse" on your throttle levers!DeadZone = 4Then calibrate all (CH Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant) in CH Control Manager BEFORE going into FSUIPC.Note 2: Set "DirectMode" in CH Control Manager______________________________________________Make sure you set your CH Device Drivers to "Direct Mode" (*NOT* Mapped!) in CH Control Manager (middle button, see mouse hover tool-tip).Note 3: Keep FSX From Re-Assigning Axes Assigned in FSUIPC___________________________________________________________Go into FSX Device Configuration and de-assign all the levers you want to assign from within FSUIPC to avoid double assignments. Also make sure you do not disconnect and reconnect your hardware to different ports, or else FSX will dream-up its own automatic assignments and you will again have to manually de-assign all the relevant levers.Note 4: FSUIPC Axis Assignment Tips____________________________________To assign a lever (axis) to a certain function, you must first move that lever for FSUIPC to set its focus to that axis. However, you might find certain other axes "twittering" (axis "noise") and thus hiding the movement of the axis you are moving for FSUIPC to detect. If so, click repeatedly on the "Rescan" button repeatedly until FSUIPC selects the axis you want. (Clicking on the more intuitive"Ignore Axis" did not seem to work for me.)Note 5: More FSUIPC Axis Assignment Tips_________________________________________When assigning levers, do *NOT* check "Raw", as this is for virtual (software only) levers. All your axes should be assigned in "Direct" mode in FSUIPC (as well as in CH Control Manager).Note 6: My Axis Assignments in FSUIPC (For CH Products Controllers)____________________________________________________________________0 = CH Products USB Pro Pedals,1 = CH Products USB Yoke,2 = CH Products USB Throttle Quadrant.(I
December 24, 200718 yr Ah, thats the easy part, ehehe. Now somebody post the instructions for assigning all those "direct" buttons. It baffles me so much I cant use the flippin section.Mara
December 24, 200718 yr wow...Im speechless. Thanks a million. Even though Ive been on the forums since 2003 and a long time FS user, I havent done any of this stuff in years...so Im a bit out of touch. That post really helped.
December 24, 200718 yr But "Direct" buttons were the eeeeeaaasy part for me! :-)Tell me where you got stuck so I can help you out.-jahman.
December 24, 200718 yr For FSUIPC User'sDownload the FSUIPC setup guide at this link:http://www.aeroworx.com/smf/index.php?topic=2228.0It's well worth a few miuntes of your time to grab it. It's very well written and explains alot of concepts in a way thats easy to understand.
December 28, 200718 yr A quick question, I am still using the FS9 and probably will not go up untill FS11, so WHAT is the latest version of FSUIPC i should use to get the best control of the mixture levers (CH Products)............I see the 4.20+. but these are only for FSX?? thanks for the help.......B42L8
December 28, 200718 yr On both my Saitek quadrants, they use digital reversers. So they're either on or off. I just went into FSUIPC and said that when the lever entered reverse mode, "decrease throttle x" for whatever engine x is and hold it. Set it so that when the "button" is released, to "throttle cut" and it puts the throttle to idle.Just wanted to post up in case someone with a Saitek yoke comes across this.
