I have uninstalled my NOD32 and Spybot for the time being and will test it out a little bit later on. Hopefully that will do the trick. Thanks,Bill

Nope, stutters are still there even though NOD32 and Spybot were removed. Ill keep checking to see what else it could beBill

Well, I get stutters with no clouds in the sky. Thanks,Bill

I notice that I don't get stutters with V Sync off, however I get lots of tearing. Seems like the stutters are linked somehow to the v sync and refresh rate stuff. Don't know much about that kind of stuff. But thats what it kinda look like. Thanks,Bill

Bill, I think I know what the problem is. Try this . . .run Filemon.exe (google it if you don't have it)Now open up a busy scenario. Start with a busy scenario--something with alot of detailed scenery in the 40m radius. Now start filemon.exe, keep it on top so you can watch disk access activity at the bottom of your screen.Take off, and bank one way or the other, and pan your view so you can watch out the left window. Just keep watching . . . I notice there are micropauses only when a bunch of .bmp files load, and it happens regularly. You can watch the scenery outside stutter a bit, and you will note the bunch of file access activity that syncs with the stutters. This is just textures loading. The only resolve I know for this in FS9 is to keep your drive defragged seriously. Maybe putting FS on a sep drive might help with this though I'm not sure at all, having never done THIS exact test before. If one could install FS on a huge ramdrive one could test if this is related to the drive access, or simply moving files from one part of memory (ramdrive) to working memory for FS9. At this time I can create a ramdrive with up to 2.66GB of capacity.Tell me what you find out.

Cool! Since I have plenty of ram I thought I'd try setting the Large System Cache on:System Properties > Advanced > Performance > Advanced, set Memory Usage to System Cache. This maneuver COMPLETELY stopped the very obvious slight hitches I saw before. It is supposed to improve disk performance, and voila it appears to have done this. This is . . . a very nice find :()

Nice, will try that also...I have noticed that the stutters went away when I set the refresh rate on my monitor to 75 and turned on V Sync. Fingers crossed. Now I have to locate the triple buffer setting becuase I hear that also impoves performance. Thanks Noel,Bill
