Or Microsoft>should just buy them to do all scenery in FS11 ;)>>In heavy AI scenarios, I might see an average frame rate of 20fps unlimited. If I the lock to 20 it immediately and consistenly dives to 14fps, never getting anywhere near the lock target. it strikes me that the frame rate lock under these conditions is giving more resource than perhaps it should to other FSX tasks, and then does not have enough left to deliver the lock.I've guess I've got used to it. When near airports with lots of AI I will unlock. When I am away from airports the frame rate climbs and I begin to get the stutters, I put the lock back on. My Q6600 helps keep the bluries at bay when unlocked.RegardsSimon

Hellowas your old GTS the 320mb version?I have been wondering if it would be worthwhile getting an Ultra.currently running a 8800GTS 320 and happy in most situationsbut if it smoothed FPS around airports a might have a look at Ebay for an 8800 Ultra.

Yes, it was.I've found the old thread on this: it's here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...e=&topic_page=2Re-reading that, I'm reminded of a couple of things: 1) my test was with the default EGLL, not the Aerosoft version; 2) I thought I saw an overall 20-30% increase in performance: looking back now, my memory is that the improvements were not across the board but concentrated in the most complex areas - which is where I had tested it; and3) others said they could get the same FPS as me with their GTS cards - although I didn't know then, and I don't know now, what that's supposed to show, because there were also lots of other differences between our PCs.Tim

RobertTake a deep breath and relax. FSX is not about FPS. Get over it. There is no frame lock fix. There isn't going to be. Period. It's about how your sim looks. If your sim looks good at 60 fps, and it looks just as good at 25 fps, there could be a lot of wasted frames. FPS doesn't mean the same thing it did in FS9. If your sim looks blurry at 10,000 ft, than you might be asking too much of your computer. I know it's a new box, but guys with much higher end rigs than yours are having trouble.Bob
