November 4, 200916 yr What do you mean by ram depletion problem exactly? I mean that you've either (i) run out of available physical RAM or (ii) run out of sufficient contiguous physical RAM.Tim 14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor. November 4, 200916 yr But why/how could this happen after 7 months of the same configuration? My FSX became unstable after installing an addon, and after that it all went down hill. How can I suddenly become out of memeory in this way? I havent once had this problem during the year and a half Ive played FSX nearly daily. November 5, 200916 yr I have vista x64 with 4gb of ram. Still same annoying texture disappearing issues
November 5, 200916 yr It seems that when I removed FSX the first time (from my C: drive), it kept a small portion of it on the drive. When I installed FSX again, I chose to have it on the E: drive. Somehow the pmdg got confused by this, and it corrected itself when I uninstalled once again and installed a fresh copy on the C: drive again. November 14, 200916 yr Hey peoples,,, Haven't updated my comments here in a while but wanted to have at least a week to get a better look at everything with my changes.I bought a new sound card, the X-Fi Titanium Champion (Best one out I found). And I will say, I thought my problems were solved for the first couple of days (So glad I decided to wait before this update). Well, things don't make much sense as sometimes I after having just turned my system on, and without hardly any addons on, I can once again and still have the texture issue. Also, sometimes I can be running in windowed mode with tons of addons on and browsing the net as well as working in Photoshop and still have no issues when I go back into FSX and still maintain a 30+ FPS at KJFK (a busy hub) with loads and loads of addons running. So in short, the problem remains.I think Tim has good info on the Ram depletion and would invest stock in that theory. I also tend to think that windows just fails and rebooting the same way everytime, and like I said above, sometimes after being off all day I have nothing but problems, and then sometimes with my system being running for days and days without reboot, I can run everything great without any issue. I have Vista 64 Ultimate and have 12gb of DDR3 running at 1603mhz. I have tested this often with numerous programs like Memtest and my ram is great. I did a week of flying looking for issues and had tons of results, unfortunately none consistant enough to post and just send people on a wild goose chase. But one thing that I don't understand is my memory usage NEVER goes above 4gb. I don't get this one bit. I think and always did, that 12gb is way over kill, but I do think 6gb is the best choice, at least due to prices and sets for dollar for dollar they are ;)Anywho, I will come back and add something if I can.Oh and for the record, the new sound card is still great even though it does not totally fix the texture issue, it has dramatically increased my FPS from using my onboard. I'll be buying Windows 7 in a couple weeks, not because of FSX but just to have it. Who knows, maybe as I said about windows reboots seeming to vary in performance, post boot up, but I think we all have seen even following the SAME EXACT methods of unistall and reinstall of FSX and our adds, that sometimes it just goes bad and others it doesn't. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
November 15, 200916 yr I wish PMDG would comment on this. I have stopped flying FSX because of this. So disappointing
November 15, 200916 yr I wish PMDG would comment on this. I have stopped flying FSX because of this. So disappointingThey have in some of these posts. There are a ton on this subject, unfortunately hard to be sure your using the best word in a search on this topic since it can be found under Textures, sound, drivers,,, etc, etc,,,. To the best of my memory they are as stumped as us. Some mention being out of memory, and some talked about (directed me to) a discussion about sound settings. Hard to say on this one since everything it shows us is the same one would expect from FSX simply being out of resources/vid mem, and what not. Even though those don't appear to be the problem. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

November 18, 200916 yr It is a real problem, but only for a very few people. I've had it happen twice, once a reinstall fixed it and the other time I rebooted my computer. It is system specific. Dan Downs KCRP
November 28, 200916 yr Running W7 64 bit on a EVGA x58 i7 920 with triple channel DDR @1600. Shouldnt be any memory issues there.I still see it sometimes. There's no pattern I can see as to when it will strike.Fundamentally, FSX is broken. Something we have to live with.Or move to XP 9 if half decent payware jets like PMDG cross over.
