July 13, 200916 yr Just curious if Dreamfleet's B737-400, originally released for FS2000 and patched to run in FS2002 will also (if it's patched for FS2002) run on FS2004? If not, is there a third party patch available that will allow it to work with FS2004? I still have FS2002 on my system primarily because the DF B737 which, in my humble opinion, is still every bit as good or better, in most respects, as Wilco's 737PIC and PMDG's 737NG.In any case, if the DF 737 will work with FS2004 with it's FS2002 patch or if there is a third party patch that will allow it to work with FS2004, I could move it over to FS2004 and take FS2002 off my system...
July 13, 200916 yr Hi,Since you still have it, I guess the fastest way to find out, is to install it yourself in FS9 and see what happens... July 13, 200916 yr Hi It can definitely be done. You need to replace the eadi and ehsi gauges with some freeware replacements. Look up Peter Mcleland - hi pioneered a technique which used to make available by email. I think he used to hang out on FS.com more than Avsim.I reckon the Wilco 737 classic is a really good plane if you can`t get the dreafleet working. I agree the exterior model isn`t that fantastic but the handling is nice (I can IFR without the autopilot in it) and its pretty polished now.CheersJames Hi,Since you still have it, I guess the fastest way to find out, is to install it yourself in FS9 and see what happens...
July 14, 200916 yr Author Hi,Since you still have it, I guess the fastest way to find out, is to install it yourself in FS9 and see what happens...That's certainly true! The worst that can happen I guess it that it simply won't load or lock FS2004 up in which case simply deleting it from FS2004's aircraft folder will cure that....Hi It can definitely be done. I believe Mr. Mcleland's name was mentioned as the author now. I'll try googling his name and see what I come up with...Thanks!

I agree the exterior model isn`t that fantastic but the handling is nice (I can IFR without the autopilot in it) and its pretty polished now. That's funny. I experienced quite the opposite. It's nearly impossible to handfly departures or arrivals & approaches following the flight director. Movements of the FD are too erratic and trimming the plane is a nightmare. The only time the plane is correctly trimmed for handflying is when flying an ILS approach and switching the AP off once established on the GS.BTW IMHO the best airliner for handflying with or without flight director is the LevelD 767.Wolfgang
July 16, 200916 yr Its really interesting how different we all are. I`m sure people`s calibration and controller hardware must make an enormous difference. The only 3 jets I can handfly IFR without losing it are 1) the WIlco 734 as discussed, 2) the Maltby BAC 1-11 which I truly love and 3) the Iron Knuckles dc9 in fs2002 (it was never the same in FS04). I vividly remember when I first got the hang of it doing KMIA - KDCA in the dc9 from chock to chock without the a/p - it was stable enough to hold the flight levels pretty well without continuous tweaking.I don`t have enough experience in the LDS 767 but it sure is a nice a/cSorry for the digression..James That's funny.
