July 25, 200916 yr hi hardwateryes i know i should overclock the sucker, but ive spent all my money (budgeted) for my new system, so unfortunately i wont be spending a dime on this system for another 6-12 months. What does overclocking have to do with spending additional money? You've already got everything you need to overclock. If you need help or advice simply say so.
July 25, 200916 yr Author hi techguywell previous posters have indicated that i need to upgrade my RAM, PSU and install fans,so if you know of a way of upgrading my PC without those extra costs i would like to knowthanks I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram

Anyone that overclocks have gone through a million of them. There is no magical answer here. You definetly need to get your ram issues straightened out before attempting anything. The I7 mobos are triple channel and that is your priority. Now I do know via experience that you can overclock on the stock heatsink but you need to monitor your temps and crank your fans to 100%. But look at it this way. You spent all that money on this system and what you need to get it ripe is another 150 bucks or so. So I would start cutting some lawns. And lastly I tweaked this and tweaked that for years , tried this and tried that but if you follow the guide that I posted a link to earlier it WILL help you a ton. Even on your current setup. NickNs guide is a good guide to. Unfortunetly for me the other method worked better but thats FSX for ya. You can have 2 exact setups and FSX is gonna run different.

Ideally with that i7 you'd want 3 sticks rather than the 2 you have now, but I doubt the lack of a 3rd channel is going to affect your performance much in real world applications. Benchmarks, sure, but not FSX.
July 26, 200916 yr Author thanksso shall i just use the stock application which comes with the mobo to perhaps overclock it a little?i have with the mobo a software called easytune6.regards I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 26, 200916 yr Well first and foremost update all your drivers and then your bios. It's always better to OC from the Bios especially if your going to keep the OC longterm. Then get a program called Realtemp get it here http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/, you also want to grab a stress test like Prime grab that here http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=103.Once you make your overclock you'll want to run a stress test while montering the tempatures. Make small increments , turn your fan speeds up. Hope this helps
July 26, 200916 yr ET6 is actually a decent app. I've used it with the rig in my sig and on a customer's rig. A lot less complicated than O/C'ing from the BIOS but also less likely to achieve the same level of OC.
July 26, 200916 yr Author ok thanks for your tips i may try this after i land, currently enroute. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 26, 200916 yr Author i am running realtemp on my current fsx computer (enroute) and its telling me my maximum temperture for one of the 4 cpus is 69c, is this too hot? minimum temp is 52 and the gpu temp is 64c I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 26, 200916 yr Author currupt graphicsevery now and then i get currupt grahpics, i have changed the drivers on my gtx 85 card but i still get this problem, by alt tabbing to full screen then alt tabbing to windowed screen it goes away.i fly normally in windowed screen, any ideas whats causing this?(this happens on stock settings, not overclocked)i have overclocked it a little and now my temps are 81c cpu and 65c gpu. July 26, 200916 yr Corrupt graphics generally mean bad video card. If your CPU temp is 81 degrees under load you need to get a better cooler. Are you sure you're not reading those backwards? CPU 65 and GPU 81 is much more believable.

CPU 65 and GPU 81 is much more believable.Sounds like you got it reversed but generally you don't want anything to go above 65 but I've ran mine at 80 for months at a time. I'm pretty sure that your graphics are being corrupted by your video card being to hot. Is your case clean and organized well? No wires blocking airflow> Did you crank your fans to 100% ? Also are you able to install anothe intake or outake fan on your case?
