August 2, 200916 yr Hi Dave,Did you solve the problem? It is pity that the Yak-40 forum at Suprunovs site is gone but I made a copy of the most interesting topics, one of them and originally published by "Hinch" :Normally CTRL-E doesn't work with the virtual cockpit, but you can make this change:Open the file panel.cfg with notepad and go to the section "Window00" in the panel folder and select the "logic" gauge, it's the first gauge of the entire panel:"gauge00=sd_yak40_6015_v2_pa!logic, 0,0"and paste this row in the first VC window "VCocpit01" and renumber. The gauge part of this section should now read as:gauge00=sd_yak40_6015_v2_pa!logic, 0, 0gauge01=sd_yak40_6015_v2_vc1!mat_front, 0,0gauge02=sd_yak40_6015_v2_vc1!mat, 216,110and voila, Ctrl-E is working while in Virtual Cockpit, without to go first to the long load of the 2D-cockpit. At the forum Igor Suprunov had presented his default paintings with a number of example flights to show the handling of the Yak-40. I made some PDF's of them with his permission. I included the numbers in knots and feet, which were originally in Km/h and meters. Let me know if you are interested, sent me an email. You can find my email address at this suite : http://users.telenet.be/desi-iiiRegards and much pleasure with the Yak-40, still one of my favorites.Hugo
August 2, 200916 yr Author Hugo,Thanks for your help. I have sent you a PM.My problem is not starting the engines, it is getting more than number one engine throttles to work with all engines running? No.1 works, the others don't. I am running XPpro. I have even tried it without success just by using the keyboard so, I know it is not my hardware. :( Dave Taylor
August 2, 200916 yr Author With engines off - cold and dark - all throttles work. With all engines on, they don't. Only engine 1 throttle works. :( Dave Taylor
August 3, 200916 yr Author I would just like to express my gratitude to Hugo, who sent me a 'saved flight' with all engines running and throttles working.I loaded it today and it was so nice to see this bird in the air with everything working as it should do.It's people like Hugo that compliment the Avsim forum with constructive and meaningful help. I am pleased to know him and thank him so much for his help. Dave Taylor
March 17, 201115 yr not getting any reply to mine - casanb Anyone managed to get more than engine no.1 engine throttles to work? :( Followed the manual and cannot taxi with just one engine even though all three engines are running. I have already tried the 'E+1+2+3' move to no avail.
March 18, 201115 yr I don't have this aircraft so apologies if I am introducing red herrings here but this issue sounds remarkably familiar.Do you have any add-ons like Flight Deck Companion running? That software has, annoyingly, the E key assigned by default to another function, causing the engine select feature to work erratically. Invariably I found it would allow selection of individual engines but not multiple combinations. I just re-assigned it and the problem went.Another thing you could try to make sure you don't have something external interfering would be to re-assign the E key in FS to something else.A separate option for you could be to install a gauge to assign engines by mouse clicks. Many of the Classic British Flightsim aircraft panels have such a feature including an A icon for All engines and you could try porting that gauge across to the Yakovlev's panel.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
March 18, 201115 yr Hi,Casanb, do you have the same engine problems? These are my findings, an excerpt from http://www.suprunovdesign.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=29I got the same problem, once I used an E combination, there was no control any more possible of some engines. I had installed the gauge of Bob Barendregt (rcbse-10.zip, here on the library), I didn't get the control back either, but... when I pushed the E, FS was minimized and I got the Help window of AES... so there must be some unwanted interaction between AES and the YAK-40  . One of both had to go, I uninstalled AES ;) . Every thing is alright now.I got an answer of Oliver Pabst himself: Aerosoft does install a DLL in the modules folder to have control of older Aerosoft applications: "Aerocore.dll", deleting or better renaming the dll to "aerocore.dll.off" by example, eliminates the error. AES is running again on my system :) .Added: in any case rcbse-10 stays on my system. It's easy to manage engines and doors now with E-1-2-3 or simply E to get control over the 3 engines.Hugo
