July 30, 200916 yr Author The Turbo Cirrus flies higher thus is Oxygen Equipped and has special Engine Instruments for monitoring operation at higher altitudes. :(Sounds like a winner for me. I decided against pilatus since its not an airplane I will be flying for real in some time to come. The Avidyne display also helps. ;) Thank you all.
July 30, 200916 yr I have had a lot of fun with the Carendo Mooney. I use the PC-12 in RFDS colours to flog around OZ as it tends to be a long way between watering holes in this neck of the woods. July 31, 200916 yr I would recommend the DF Piper Dakota. I have Just Flight's Archer III but it's not quite the same as DF's Archer III in FS9. I did move the sound file from my old Archer III in FS9 to the one in FSX for improvement. Please let us know if you ever come across a Beech A36 Bonanza or Piper Malibu Meridian for FSX.Have you checked out the Malibu Meridian freeware from Flight Simulation Software? http://www.fs2x.com/Freeware.htm I've never flown it but I'm going to download it now and check it out.
July 31, 200916 yr Well, if you care to add a GPS yourself, then what about all the WW2 classic fighter aircraft? Not strictly GA except in the modern airshow sense, but certainly a challenge and they're definitely going to have the ceiling and the speed you might like.Some of the very latest offerings for FSX, such as the recent P-47 have a lot of very realistic engine modeling, which gives you something to play with whilst tootling along, not to mention the fact that most of them will let you slide the canopy open as well, to give you a nice perspective on things.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 31, 200916 yr Though technically it's mid-wing not low-wing, the plane I reach for most often is the Alphasim Rutan Long-EZ. It cruises at 160 knots and has tremendous range. It also has liquid smooth, crystal clear gauges, as well as a swing out GPS. The flight characteristics are interesting and the bubble canopy gives an amazing panoramic field of view.
