selective engine control

Featured Replies

hi,One of my favourite aircraft is A2A's B377. It comes with a very handy pop up window which allows you to select which engine (s) you want to control with your single throttle lever. It works very well indeed and I am wondering if such gauge is available for any aircraft. If not it is a pity that no one has ever designed one.

E x , where x is the engine you want to select, is a standard MSFS command. You can also do multiples E12, E34. E1234 for example. Some panels have poorly designed gauges, however, that preventthose multi-keystroke commands from executing. Paul

hi,I knew that command but had not been using it because it did not seem to work well ( or I misused it...) as you mention it. I have tried it with default aircraft and it works though I perfer the A2A gauge which is handier especially for four engine aircraft. Thank you for your reply

Hi,E + position number doesn't work properly within FS9.To fix this bug you have to download&install the file RCBSE-10.zip where you'll find the gauge SELECTCORRECT.XML by Rob Barendregt.Cheers Gianfranco

Maybe you use only default planes.
Whether or not you use FSUIPC can make a big difference, too.Cheers,Glenn

The ONLY time it won't work is when there is at least ONE badly coded gauge, or poorly scripted XML "gauge." :( Anytime any key_event is being continuously fired, it will cause a race condition and block any of the _SELECT key_events from being processed. Both FSUIPC and Rob's gauge are at best "bandaids" to mitigate the bleeding... They are not actually finding and fixing the bad code... :(

Hi,You can use Doug Dawson's:"event_logger.zip"Here in the library. It will find the offending K-Events (fs9), after which you can correct the wrong synthax.Jan

That was a rather silly thing to say, considering that Ed is a "Commercial" developer for FS! :(
