August 6, 200916 yr Bob,Please note that I am just offering information here and my affiliation with another product has nothing to do with my post.FS can have only one set of textures loaded at a time. This doesn't matter as to what product is being used at the time.If you wanted to do a multi stop flight with weather influenced textures for each segment, then yes you would need to shut down FSX each time and load new textures.Yes, with ASA running it would handle your weather. Thanks,As I understand it from the REX website, the weather influenced textures are based on worldwide weather data, not on weather for a particular region or weather station. So there is no need to load new textures for each leg; you'll get the same textures regardless of where you are flying (assuming the worldwide weather reports haven't changed significantly in the time it's taken you to fly the previous leg, of course). Here's a copy and paste from their FAQ:5) HOW CAN REX INSTALL TEXTURES THAT MATCH WEATHER IF THE APP DOESN'T KNOW WHERE I WANT TO FLY?- You have to understand that REX will use an algorythm that takes in account the whole world and not a specific place when it chooses textures for you. Because the textures are choosen before FSX is launched they can't obviously be changed when you select your flight. So if your personal choice was "Cumulus 40" and "Arizona" sky and you fly in Arizona using the Real Weather and this day the sky is blue without clouds, the sky you will get is the "Arizona" one but without clouds. If clouds are coming so they will be the "Cumulus 40" ones.Hope that helps...Jesse
August 6, 200916 yr Commercial Member Jesse, this has considerably changed in version 2, we have not yet updated the info. It all depends now on the mode you select within the REX interface. Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com

August 14, 200916 yr Is anybody actually using ASA, REX, UTX and GEX at once or is it a bit of a overkill? I've used them all in FS9 and they all worked well together. Jacek G. They all work well together, one wx. engine at a time, and FSX looks great. Dave Skuback - KBLM'Cause down the shore everything's all right
August 14, 200916 yr Yeah, me, all four, at times. They all work well together, one wx. engine at a time, and FSX looks great.Very cool. Which weather engine do you prefer the most? Jacek G. August 14, 200916 yr Very cool. Which weather engine do you prefer the most?ASA. Their newest update has smoother weather transitions here. Haven't really done enough flying with the new versions of both, so I can't really give an intelligent answer. I do see that the frame rates are better with REX textures, and I won't use FSX without it. Dave Skuback - KBLM'Cause down the shore everything's all right

Am actually using five add-ons - ASA as weather engine, REX except for clouds, FEX for clouds only, and UTX and GEX for the various things they do on the ground. Works well for me.Alan Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
